Hey guys, I'm currently doing 4kgs every morning after a weightgain milkshake, 40 reps on each arm after stretching.
If in my free time I just repeatedly lift weights, will this increase muscle strength at all or just be a wasted effort and/or destroy my arms?
Lmao no form of resistance exercise is "wasted" its just you will be spinning your wheels so to speak compared to a simple basic program of heavy lifting and heavy eating.
Simply put, don't bother?
doing 4 kgs?
Anyways, doing 40 reps is not going to make you stronger.
I was planning on doing that, then every month I increase the weight by 6 kilos
You'd be better off increasing the weigh more frequently and using way less reps.

How about raising the weight when you need it and not when some arbitrary number of days pass?
back from doing 80kg deadlifts
I'd say deads are my favorite exercise, they're fairly easy and I feel alpha as fuk doing them.
and no, 80kg isn't my fukin max, I do 8 reps with that.
I must admit I like deadlifts as well. My hands don't, though.
My favourite exercise is benchpress. Fucking love doing it.

Max out on a DL. A lot of stress on the body
Max out on a DL. A lot of stress on the body
That's not so good thing to do. Most people (almost all beginners) have their lower back arched when doing DL close to max. That just fucks up your spine
don't worry a pro just taught me the proper way of deadlifting today
my form is awwright now
someone who actually knows what they're talkin about pm me i need help working out a mainly bodyweight program dont be shit
Yes. They are gay unless you are doing pullups.

p.s that doctor is a retard. Developing a strong lower back from deadlifting with proper form helps prevent back injuries in the future.

"bad exercise" lmao. $10 says his lower back looks like an ass above his real ass
i doubt hes saying everything thats wrong with his body or everything the doctor saw / was told. although i dont agree its a bad exercise i still think that he should do some other kind of lower back exercise to strengthen it until he feels ready/able to do deadlifts( this is assuming its not him being a puss and actually a physical problem)

Squat -> 1x5 18kg, 2x5 20kg, 3x5 22kg
Press -> 1x5 14kg, 2x5 16kg, 3x5 18kg
Power clean -> 1x3 10kg, 2x3 12kg, 5x3 14kg
Pullups (5 reps sets): 0 kg, 3.5 kg
added 2kg to everything... press was very hard though

His decision was a doctor's point of view only.
He took no chance, and limited any futher actions including barbells and heavy weight. In case something happens, it wasn't his fault.
It was a good decision as a doctor, but not a cure.
this is such bullshit
having pneumonia for 3 weeks has dropped my weight by ALOT. I can see a six pack starting to show (from what looked like a layer of fat covering a flat plate), and i have no double chin when I look down now. The downside is, my biceps + chest have about halved in size. There goes 6 months of lifting. I went from looking like a buff scary 6ft 4 dude to a hipster guy, in 3 weeks. :smith:

like my diet each day would consist of 3 mandarins and a few grapes

How is this bullshit? This is real life. Keep at it. A lot of things will get you down along the proccess. Deal with it, or stop doing it.

you best thank god that muscle memory exists
start lifting as soon as possible and you'll get most of your muscle back in a few months
I cancelled my gym membership 4 weeks ago because I am broke, what are the odds lol
