Science should be a real religion.
This isn't half bad. Damn, a sixth grader beat me in writing an apocalyptic sci-fi comic. :smith:
"The organism also grew a giant butt over Africa" "This is how the organism went to the bathroom, by shitting into space!" What the fuck. [editline]11th June 2011[/editline] LOL "once again africa was the asshole of the world"
Biochemical stuff sure can fuck stuff up. Even turning Africa to an asshole that shits.

Read the whole fucking thing. Jesus christ that was fucking awesome. A little shoddy but wow, I wish I was like this in sixth grade. The story kept me reading, the ending was definitely interesting. [editline]11th June 2011[/editline] The two commandments thing was especially wise. [editline]11th June 2011[/editline] Religious references or not, the whole "god infused with science" was pretty satisfying, considering the entire story was gruesome.

i'm kind of shocked at the amount of people in this thread who seem to suggest that religion and science should be equally respected. There's a complete lack of logic or rationality in that line of thought.
The year is 2246 and due to scientists' experiments gone awry, create a super organism spanning most of the Earth. The organism is made of any living things and feeds off itself, perpetually producing more organisms within itself to eat. On the moon, scientists and religious extremists are fighting a civil war. The scientists want to destroy the organism, and the religious extremists want to let the creature live as they value all life.
http://www.somethingawful.com/d/news/instruction-fruit-below.php
Is this red "monster" some kind of flooding water, I don't know I'm confused of how is it like.
that Thou shall not put science above religion Thou shall not put religion above science is genious
Yeah, I actually stopped in awe at that page and actually started thinking about that. That really is a great quote, this whole thing is fucking amazing, and actually has a great storyline and moral to it. If this was done right I honestly think it would be a revolutionary, great movie, if not one of the best of all time. Seriously, think about it, the whole science vs. religion thing is a huge part of today's society, someone really needs to come up and make an extremely creative way of telling people to accept both, not necessarily believe in them, just accept and tolerate them. Hell, it's 2 in the morning, maybe I'm just getting a little too much out of this.. Nevertheless it was still a good story & read. tl;dr - The whole science and religious coexistence and the actual plot/story is amazing and really needs to be made into a good movie and has a great message.
Also ITT claims they were amazing talented little kids with stories on par with this one.
The amount of hyperbole and cataclysmic events make it a really good bible story. As a movie it would certainly generate a cult following.
It MUST be nearly over, I've been reading for twenty minutes! >1/8 of the way through :byodood: [editline]12th June 2011[/editline] Am I the only one who thinks this is dreadful and that the kid probably cringes when he looks back on it

In grade 5 me and my best friend made a pokemon comic. I guess I'm just too suburban for Bio Apocalypse

There's a complete lack of logic or rationality in that line of thought.
What everyone means though is just that, respected, not necessarily held equal in the sense that what is fact from fiction. No matter what you believe in, you should always respect others beliefs, whether you agree with them or not. These petty arguments will only lead to pointless disputes and wars, as time has proven over and over again. That's what I got out of the story anyways, it really was powerful stuff.
So a "god" saved the Earth? Well, that ruined the story for me.
It was written by some American kid in sixth grade, bro. Give your shittery a rest
The next KC Green Hell for all I know it could be the current KC Green

P.S. I am not saying every religious person is a SHEEPLE BAAAHHH. I just find that a lot of them invoke God a lot instead of legitimately contemplating some of the really essential questions and mysteries in life and it can make them narrowminded. For them, religion is just a circular logic trick where they believe in it because their religion tells them to, and they've been raised carefully that way.

His message is "Science and Religion should not be compared, as they are of the same purpose, to give a meaning with everything". Wich actually makes me feel like copy pasting my long explanation about how science does not contradict religion in anyway and that millitant atheists are fuckign idiots.

A lot of stupid atheists follow people like Richard Dawkins like sheep, just as bad as some religious people.

What's important is if the idea is defensible and sound.
This kid has talent! Also, just wait to see "Red Fusion" in theaters in a few years :D
oh wow. not bad
OP wrote the story

If you wanted to watch Star Wars and I offered you the choice between watching an old, battered, hardly viewable VHS and an unreleased HD copy of Star Wars on blu ray, which would you take? If you're having any trouble, "watching Star Wars" is knowing the truth about life, the universe, etc, the VHS is religion, and the blu ray disk is science. No shit, it's because gods don't exist and it's impossible to prove that something doesn't exist. Attributing the existence of everything in the universe to some stupid, anthropocentric idea like a cosmic consciousness/will or worse yet a fully formed abrahamic god who has "created humans in his image" is seriously just shockingly, awfully irrational. I'll admit that there is a chance that this is the case just as I would be forced to admit the possibility that Kill Bill volume 2 never actually came out, Tarantino died before its release, and as a result I went catatonic and everything I've experienced since then is a product of my own delusions. It's "possible", but in the realm of infinite possibilities, "possible" isn't really far removed from impossible in many cases.
