look at me i'm so edgy god doesn't exist anyone who thinks so is fucking stupid
hey, guess what, there are plenty of good religious people out there
there are also good atheists, i know a lot, but shitheads like you make it seem different
anyway, about the smiling faces, it was stated while they were dying they could smile voluntarily for the first time in years, so them smiling was forced by the organism.
Fuck off. Literally, right out of the fucking ether, religion comes and saves the day, everyone joins in species-wide religious faith except for those few, arrogant secular types who are justly laughed out of social relevance. It ends like any insipid, manipulative, glurge-filled morality tale you'd find on any one of the fundie tracts getting pumped out the world over, and you can't see why someone could just legitimately find that stupid?
This is amazing, I'm much older and I probably couldn't do better than him.

Ending was a great example of Deus ex machina.
With all theese millitant atheists on this forum, its kinda stupid how they "know" that god dosent exists.
There is no way to proove anything, hell yes you can experiment and beleive that you are right, but you will never be completely right. Who knows if god reallly made this world? Who knows that everything is made of matter and not green alfs? No one, we might observe something, but we will never know if we saw right. The only thing i got a vague sense of, is my own existence, but who even knows if we exists or even are conscious in any way? Jesus christ, i beleive in that man, i dont know if he really could do miracles, maybe he was just a good docter, and a son of a manic, i dont know, you dont know. Therefore we shouldnt fight about it, it dosent make either smarter.
I'm glad it ended on a high note, because I was getting depressed as hell reading it.

I think you'll be happy to know that he grew up to be a Something Awful goon.

Well, the important thing is, whether or not the universe was created by some higher being, there's really little reason why it'd care about some bags of flesh and water on a backwater little planet in a slummy sector of a minor galaxy when there are already countless numbers of other species out there who fully believe that everything was made for them, and who are probably actually capable of resiting the temptation to use faith as an excuse to do horrible shit.
Also, if you're trying to look smart, I'd recommend avoiding spelling mistakes.

Very few people say they know god doesn't exist, as the concept is unfalsifiable. However, just because something cannot technically be disproven does not make it a reasonable idea when there's no legitimate evidence for it. I'd use the invisible unicorn argument but I'm sure you're all sick to death of hearing that.
God damn I miss my imagination.
There's a teapot floating exactly at the midway point between Earth and the Sun and it's striped in blue and a color that doesn't even exist. It speaks to me in my dreams and tells me that I can't be friends with anybody who plays xbox.
If you dare to call me stupid you can fuck yourself, you can't disprove the teapot's existence!
The "organs" of this biomass are... sick. I want them out of my mind.
Also, the guy on the Eiffel tower. And the whole foetus-immaculate-abortion incident.

Lol. "Militant" atheists. Why is it that 'religious militants' are generally the ones murdering one another over their faith (ie. Israel, Shia/Sunni muslims etc), while atheists only need to present a dissenting opinion to be slapped with the same label? Double standards much?
OT: Very impressive work for the age; loved the imaginitive lovecraftian/body horror/ohgodwhat imagery, but the bog-standard "science fucks up everything and an angel saves the day yaaaaaaaay" story lets it down imho.
not too sure about the term militant atheist
douchebag sounds more suitable

Lol, Minecraft Ghasts.
Edit: Ah, yes, now this is a thread based more around around religion vs. science, like very thread on Facepunch.

:what:
Don't be a douche and argue about religion here, just read and enjoy this fine comic. Like someone who isn't an ass.
This fucking owns, seriously. Think of how awesome this would be in a "refined" version.

Eventually. Haven't even finished the damn cover, and don't like how the ground looks.
Also, printing off the story for my friend's birthday, hopefully he enjoys it, even though he's somewhat of a "militant atheist".
Someone with decent art skills should redraw the comic, would definitely be worth the effort.
Yeah but some parts would have to be re-written, if you wanna give it a more serious tone, that is.
I picture the narratives to sound like me back in the day when I played with toy soldiers.

I honestly think the story as it is would be able to stand on its own alongside any sort of art.
Definitely should keep the one scientist at the beginning, I loved that.
"WOOPS"
Read the whole thing, it was actually pretty good. I love the drawings.
Actually the whole thing reminded me of that one very old Japanese horror manga I just cant remember atm. I´ll post links later when I remember it.
Drr...Drr...Drr...
to those who really liked this story should really check out a manga called "berserk"
its quite similar on some aspects.

Wouldn't be as charming as this, considering it's by a 6th grader and it's so deep.
Drawings look... weird...
Is this really by a 6th grader?

Honestly, I ain't digging the design. Ain't trippy and organic-looking enough.
I figure that it'd look a bit like graffiti made of intestines, drawn by hand with as little digital fadoodling as possible.
