Spartan 4s are just for multiplayer.
Although they do exist canonically. Apparently a new novel, Glasslands I think, notes them to be willing volunteers this time around with augmentations and other factors; going by that, multiplayer is probably Spartan IV testing to make sure they can operate and function as well as the previous Spartan programs.
Looks like Halo will be the new CoD once CoD dies evantually
Yea, if CoD was a game that actually had some effort put into it.
All I really want is an explanation as to how MC got that new set of armor. Other than that, I already have a feeling in my gut that this is gonna be fun.
rofl who gives a shit about the armor stop being nit-picky about small details for FIRST PERSON shooter.
rofl who gives a shit about the armor stop being nit-picky about small details for FIRST PERSON shooter.
You fool, don't you understand that when you look down you see your legs?! Every god damn time I'd have to look down to shoot an enemy I'd be enraged by the inaccurate leg armor. Also, cutscenes.
In the books the armor change is explained via nanobots that when not in use slowly start to improve the armor or something similar.
that sounds like a very shitty excuse
that sounds like a very shitty excuse
It takes place way in the future. Seems like a reasonable excuse to me.
In the books the armor change is explained via nanobots that when not in use slowly start to improve the armor or something similar.
That sounds like a pretty lame explanation. It's like what midichlorians (or whatever) are to the Force.
I trust 343i 100% with the series. Watching this made me feel like watching the Halo 3 ViDocs when they first came out. I'll be damned if they mess this up.
In the books the armor change is explained via nanobots that when not in use slowly start to improve the armor or something similar.
That's only for the Mark VII armor. Master Chief only wears Mark VI.
I think what people need to realize is that in the novels, the Spartans had a ridiculous amount of knowledge on maintaining/customizing their armor due to the fact that they had to repair it in the field often. Most of the work could be done in a machine shop, and if the ship from the end of Halo 3 still had that, Cortana, using hacked sentinels, drones, or whatever she had laying around easily could've scavenged the crystal layer(for the AI housing in the armor) and metals from the ship, as well as the other materials and everything from Master Chief's suit or some kind of Deus Ex machina that allowed her to grab a bunch of nano-bots. I'm curious how they're gonna explain this, but I have a bad feeling it's just gonna be thrown off as forerunner magic or, there'll be a spinoff comic like there was between the end of 2 and 3 that shows the Chief going full retard on a bunch of Space Pirates from Metroid. Okay, the last part was sarcasm, but you never know.
I really love Halo, it's probably my favourite series of games on consoles, and the actual story behind it is incredibly brilliant. But I don't think Halo 4 is going to be as good as the first three were, I just don't think 343 can handle it. A few things that struck me as off in the video were these: 1. Exploring the story of the Master Chief in the game. You're not SUPPOSED to know his backstory! Bungie was going for a slow, mysterious approach for the Master Chief. You're not supposed to know what he's like or where he came from, it's to help you get more immersed, Bungie came out and said that themselves. 2. SPARTAN IVs. This is pretty much not only a blatant disregard for canon up to this point, but is just fucking stupid. Why would they have another generation of SPARTANs? 3. Story for the multiplayer. In Halo. Why does the Red Vs Blue mechanic/TDM need a story? I hope it's good, but everything 343 has put out indicates that it's not going to be a good Halo game. It might come out as a good game, but I don't think it'll be a worthy successor to the rest of the Halo series. [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] The armor from Halo 1 was the Mark V armor, the armor in Halo 2 and 3 is Mark VI.
so apparently you've never read the books [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] i trust 343i, they have frankie o
I'm worried that they might change it too much and might end up feeling like another game..
The game looks amazing compared to others.
As a hardcore Halo fan I approve of this. (Hardcore enough to put 1750$ into my own halo armor & sniper rifle.)
This looks awesome. Hopefully the campaign isn't the trash that was Halo Reach or 3 [editline]5th March 2012[/editline]
I'm worried that they might change it too much and might end up feeling like another game..
Change is good for a 10 year old series that hasn't changed too much.
Sure, I find the Halo multiplayer a bit repetitive, but I've always enjoyed the campaigns. If this is still for the 360, I might consider getting it.
Sure, I find the Halo multiplayer a bit repetitive, but I've always enjoyed the campaigns. If this is still for the 360, I might consider getting it.
Custom games in Halo usually have ridiculous amounts of fun when you have the right people.
Custom games in Halo usually have ridiculous amounts of fun when you have the right people.
Anyone else play "28 days later" in Halo 3 with 10+ friends? Most fun I've ever had on a console. So when can we pre-order Halo 4? :v:
Yeah Custom games with friends on halo 3 was awesome.
I'd play custom games with ANYONE right now on Halo 3. I've never gotten an Xbox 360 until this boxing day, and I got my first Xbox when I was 6 (2004), and I got Halo 1, the year after I got Halo 2, never had Gold xbl. I've played some Custom Games on reach (maybe not as much as compared to some people) Apparently Halo 3 custom games are much more fun though, does anyone still play those?
I remember making Infection game modes with my three best mates. So much damn fun, but i didn' have Live back then. Basically the Alpha Zombie had an Energy Sword and a Pistol and Infinite Grenades, the Best active camo and 300% speed or something. The zombie spawn would have the same kit, but poor active camo and a Gravity Hammer. Made for very frightening and blood pumping games on Sandtrap. Good times. I hope Halo 4 will be just as enjoyable as Halo 3, and pretty much every other Halo game.
I hope the MP maps have a little more variety than we saw in the video. I mean, I know they said "a whole universe to fight in", but what we saw where two very angular, gray maps. Then again. we only saw 2. Who knows what else we'll get... Also, I swear to god, if the get rid of the assassination kills from Reach, I'm going to hunt them down and shit in their beds.
STAAAAAAAAAALE! Sorry. "What we wanted to do was to introduce a new threat that Master Chief has not dealt with before." Christ, just Copy-Paste some reapers and wookies and call it a plot! Whatever... I'm pessimistic about this. It reeks of 2001.
FUCKING PC PC PC PC!!!
At least the game looks much more cinematic than the previous games (at least that's what I hope seeing there are a few first person cutscenes showed off in the video), which is rather good. I don't really like having MC change armor without any good explanation, I wish they'd actually give it a reason instead of just changing it for the sake of changing it.
they probably will explain it i don't know if you've noticed, but there hasn't been a particularly large amount of info released about halo 4 yet
Halo 2 >
I think they really should have stopped with Halo 3. I was dissapointed with Reach and ODST.
