I hope Justin Beaver never gets a role in a movie, but unfortunately with the batshit crazy fans, it's almost inevitable for him to make some sort of appearance on the silver screen. :smith:

If there's a definition of "Boring" the remake is it.
Yeah. It was hyped as like, a thriller, too.
Which made it that much worse when it was like, an 8-dollor nap
opportunity with special effects thrown in.

That counts as more of an unofficial sequel than a remake.

THE FIRST MOVIE WAS BASED ON A HISTORIC EVENT. What could possibly drives someone so mad as to think it would be a good idea to made a sequel?!?!
On the line of sequels to perfectly good movies, who else hated Terminator 3?

I didn't hate it, but it definitely didn't live up to 1 & 2.
I mean at least Arnie was in it.
Pokemon.. :smithicide:

Yeah, but to me it was like... really sub-par.
The first two were awesome because they had action AND story.
The third one had a weak story that basically said "Fuck you" to the theme of the second, and didn't even stack up that well as an action flick.
Back to the Future....
starring Justin Bieber.

It's not really a sequel.
The movie has nothing to do with the first movie, it's called "Titanic II," because the story is about a ship called the Titantic II.
Sneaky bastards. :v:
Titanic's not a remake... it's sad though....
The main problem i am having is the remakes of the classic horror films such as: Dawn of the dead, The hills have eyes, the Texas chainsaw massacre, the list goes on. The reason they are considered classics is because they where breaking new ground. Planting the flag if you will for new plains of discovery. The remakes forget all of that and just make it a shitty gore-fest with the sole intention of making you sick. I remember being petrified by the original Hills have eyes because so much more was in the suggestion and the suspense.
I also have the same bug with all the other remakes, although the expendables i will count as a last hurrah for all those wonderfully terrible action movies. I loved it because i went in knowing full well what to expect. I hated it when reviewers complained about the lack of good plot. That wasn't the point, it was meant to be, as i previously stated a last ditch attempt to have a bloody good time sitting in a cinema.
What annoys me is they have already made a remake of "let the right one is" which was an incredibly shot, surreal and wonderfully acted Swedish film only made a few years ago, whereas the Hollywood remake looks like a bog standard crappy horror film. Here is the trailer for this shitty remake. And in case the colonials found the tittle to long they shortened it to "let me in" which i its own way takes from the movie as well. "let the right one in" implies choice and internal turmoil with emotion. whereas "let me in", well it sounds like a B movie from the 1980's.

shit if they remake back to the future I might actually cry, my favorite movie of all time. Hollywood please don't ruin it.
On the line of sequels to perfectly good movies, who else hated Terminator 3?
As far as I'm concerned, the series ended with Terminator 2.
The third and fourth movies are like a fanfiction of the Terminator movies.

I'm still waiting for the romantic comedy remake of Taxi Driver.
The only good remake i can think of.. is King Kong, 2005.
every other remake i've seen is bullshit.
The day they remake pulp fiction, is the day I look to the the shotgun.
There are plenty of films Hollywood will never be able to touch. Take George Lucas and Steven Spielberg for example.
1. Any film either of these guys directed, they also produced. They usually had a huge part in the screenplay as well.
2. They also made these films under their own film companies, which hold all the rights for remakes, reboots, etc. Paramount, DreamWorks and LucasFilms are all respective properties of the two (although Spielberg is one of three collaborators that came together to make DreamWorks, his stuff won't be touched by the other two guys, K and G whose names I cannot recall atm). Any other company you saw in the opening titles were the film's distributors, and have nothing to do with a reboot. This includes Star Wars (nobody will be able to remake ESB and ROTJ simply because Lucas is the owner of those films too, even though he didn't direct them), Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Jaws, fucking everything Spielberg ever did.
The main point is, there are a plethora of films that can never be remade. So all those rumors you hear about new films for these existing franchises is all bullshit until either Lucas or Spielberg say it themselves.
P.S. - Terminator doesn't count because James Cameron's story ended after T2. T3 and Salvation were just fanfics of what we hadn't seen on the screen. Also, he kinda just was bored when he made it, and didn't really care what happened afterward with the franchise.
James Cameron wanted T2 to end it.
Terminator 3 and Salvation are accepted into the canon in general,
which kinda pisses me off.
Actually, I never saw Salvation, but I heard it was more T3 than T2.

I can't imagine why anyone would think its a good idea to modernize Short Circuit. I grew up watching it and I consider it the reason why I'm into computers and electronics. I'll eat my shoe if this ends up doing the original any justice.
I also consider Terminator 1&2 the only canon ones.
I like remakes when it tries something different, such as the Fly and The Thing, or the recent reboot of the Batman series.

Yeah. I was actually really happy with Christopher Nolan for making Batman movies good again.
Ocean's 11 is the only remake I've liked so far.
If we didn't have remakes we wouldn't of had The Good The Bad And The Ugly.
[editline]05:22AM[/editline]
There would've been no Dollars trilogy.
I agree so much. It's become a popular trend lately. I was so fucking pissed to see the Halloween/Friday The 13th/Nightmare On Elm Street remakes or as the directors call them "reboots". These were classic movies for the period. They're not meant to be dragged on 15 years later with fancy visuals. Hollywood needs to get some original ideas.
