I agree so much. It's become a popular trend lately. I was so fucking pissed to see the Halloween/Friday The 13th/Nightmare On Elm Street remakes or as the directors call them "reboots". These were classic movies for the period. They're not meant to be dragged on 15 years later with fancy visuals. Hollywood needs to get some original ideas.
Well, "Reboot" is a different kind of thing. Reboots are just completely starting from scratch and going back to what made them good in the first place. Returning to their roots. Remakes are typically the same story (or a half assed version) with new actors/occasional side-plot. Reboots are typically better recieved than remakes, since reboots are basically the creator saying: "Holy shit guys, this is getting waaay off course. let's go back a bit, see if we can still fix this".

James Cameron lost the rights of the Terminator series to Linda Hamilton (SARAH CONNAH) when they divorced in 1995, and she sold the rights away too

It sucks. These amazing pieces of cinema do not need to be rebooted. They are perfect in their original condition and will always hit the nerve of a scary serial killer in a mask stalking people. People can relate to this fear since most people are afraid of crazy ass men with masks. Nothing needs to be changed since they were perfect in their original form.
Try telling that to Sam Raimi.
He's not working on the spiderman reboot i think.
He's not working on the spiderman reboot i think.
I know. Try saying this to him though:
reboots are basically the creator saying: "Holy shit guys, this is getting waaay off course. let's go back a bit, see if we can still fix this".
The Spider-Man film trilogy was doing perfectly fine, there was no need for a fucking reboot just because Raimi's next film would have come out in 2012 or 2013, and the reboot is coming out at that time anyway. Absolutely no reason. That was Sony being a bunch of dicks.
I've always wondered what Fight Club would look like if it was the exact same script but Brad Pitt and Edward Norton switched places.
