Would you define damaging a sentient being as hurting it?
What are you actually doing here? This massive leap of logic is either a sign you are digging a hole, or you are trolling. He asked if you are murdering people whilst playing with Lego. You replied with this noise about sentient beings, there is no connection here. Lego is plastic, unfeeling, unthinking, damaging it is nowhere near comparable to actual harm to living beings. As with characters in video games, they are merely data constructs. They do not feel, hurt, or think. They only respond and act based on pre-defined requirements and solutions. Injuring one is nothing like hurting an actual human being. It can be portrayed as such, but anyone without mental disorder can tell the difference.
Imagine sentient robots existed (which they will, so assume it's true now), it would see Lego's as a predecessor, together with computers and cars, as it was created by man and therefore a prototype of that robotic being. When you were a kid, you would feel empathetic immediately with anything that resembled a feeling entity. (This is what you forgot.) You would feel empathy for animated characters, which is why you got that hentai fetish. You would feel empathy for video game characters because their face moved, and your brain interpreted that as that being sentient.
Okay this is getting tiring. Please post some evidence you have a degree in psychology that allows you to post this stuff as fact. Or find us some source from a accredited doctor who has done the research that proves these claims. If you can't do either of these, cease posting.

I'm talking about video game Legos.
You're making assumptions on a lot of things and it's making you look like you're projecting
What is the difference between an assumption and knowledge?
Knowledge is tested, and proven. Assumptions are what cause atrocities such as slavery and genocide.
No, they are one and the same. When you realize that you are one with the world and I won't have to teach you anything else.
Fuck this cryptic new age shit. If you can't explain yourself without being vague and annoying, you've fucked up.
-snip-
You don't understand my messages, so you see them as cryptic. I am not responsible for that, so I feel no guilt. I wish you good luck in life and I hope you cherish every second of it, for it is all you have.
It's not that I don't understand your messages. Trust me, they aren't as complex as you seem to think. It's that they are totally, balls to the walls, stupid. You can be vague about things like "what are we", "why are we", but things like perception we can study, we can try and understand what others perceive, sure it's not 100% accurate, but we can ask them for their view on the thing they perceive. This is where your points fail, rather than saying "we forgot" how to emphasize with fictional characters, you should be saying "we learned to differentiate". Humanity has little reason to think fiction is reality, that's why we have it, so we can break out of our lives and experience things. Not so we have to think everything that happened is happening to real beings. [editline]1st December 2013[/editline] And I swear to fucking god if you reply with a one sentence piece of garbage or "i love you" I'm giving up as you're a lost cause.
No, they are one and the same. When you realize that you are one with the world and I won't have to teach you anything else.
I'm not sure if there's a language barrier here, or if you're just stoned off your gourd.
Just report him and move on I guess. Also the actual program last night was pretty good, it glossed over quite a bit and it got a bit "eh" at the end, but as always it was pretty humourous while being informative.

He's a great writer and really shouldn't have this problem realistically.
If you sympathize with any of these characters I have proven my point.
And you've missed the entire point people have been trying to get across. Yes we can sympathise with fiction, but we do not think that is is happening to us. Seriously, we learn the difference between real and not-real so early into our development, when you see kids being scared of monsters, that is not them thinking their books and shows are real, it's imagination, their minds including things that they know aren't fiction into their perception of the world when they aren't actively thinking (why else would it only happen when they are resting?). Killing a character in game is not going to put you through the same emotional throes as killing a real human being. Unless you are either incredibly young, or mentally unstable.
What is the difference between an assumption and knowledge?
Out of blue you said I had a hentai fetish. You had nothing to go on so it was assumption which made you look like you were projecting
Negativity killed humanity.
when did Jayden Smith join fp
It's the same thing. Everything you know is you imagination, there is no difference between you seeing a green book and imagining a green book, IN YOUR BRAIN. Negativity killed humanity.
Fuck this. I'm out. I have better things to do than argue with annoying philosophy majors. I know the "we imagine everything" argument well. Pretty sure most philosophers dislike the idea today. But just saying, there is a difference between sympathy for a real and fictional being. Never once has any sane person killed something in a game and broken down into tears of grief for it, because we know the difference.
This is a shock, we've hit December 1st and only now has the worst poster 2013 revealed himself.
Positive energy is space expanding, negative energy is space contracting. Or reverse?
We should've seen it coming.
Is it me or did you just cringe at the part where that Labyrinth guy discussed Mario music.
I never said the outcome of experiencing violence is violence. You did think they were "real", you just forgot. :)
While you're in the part my memory that i've obviously lost, but you have kept safe for me, could you fetch my parents first divorce and my 3 lost cousins? I haven't forgot anything since i was 4. You need to fuck off and come back when you have some proper authority in childhood memory and psychology. [editline]3rd December 2013[/editline]
Negativity killed humanity.
That and stupidity, superiority complex, hate, presumptiveness and deliberate ignorance. you're committing them all except hate. [editline]3rd December 2013[/editline] Oh god. He's banned. i shouldn't have responded!
