I feel like I'm getting a lot of shit for saying an almost 40 year old empty box feels terrifying to drive at its top speed with wind. :v:
You guys come down and try it for yourselves. Except butre, he'll wrap it around a tree.
I've unofficially broken 4 land speed records and officially set one on motorized bikes and joined the 200 mph club in my M6, not sure my addiction to speed is healthy at this point
you want real fear, try 68 on a bicycle with a souped up pit bike motor strapped to it

I got shipping notification from the CMP today! :D
Im not massively overwight or 6'6 so I dont use them for spacers. I dont use one on my K98 but im not shooting 200 rounds each range trip.
As far as ammo goes, I get some Privi for about $18 a box locally, but Aimsurplus usually has it cheaper I think. Not the best ammo out there but it burns clean and isnt corrosive. Id buy it over a box of Winchester white box or remington.

I like to pretend im flying the Milinium Falcon in my car. At 40 the thing feels like it might take off into thensky at any moment.
Every time I've got privi it's as if i threw my gun in an ash pile afterward.
Prvi isn't corrosive. It might leave a dark residue, but it's pretty cheap and they make a lot of obsolete calibers, so they're cool.
Surprisingly enough, tula is quite a bit cleaner than privi in my revolver.
Literally never had issues with Privi, at least as 8mm and 7.62 Tok goes.
Couldn't resist a levergun in .45-70

One of those will probably be my next gun.
So as an alternative to the Adler, Corwin Arms just brought these in for almost a quarter the price:

Should I risk it? I'd be part of the Guinea pigs getting the first batch.
They have a semi for like $20 more, but the "on clearance" thing makes me nervous. They say it's very similar to a Weatherby semi.

I kind of want a lever gun but I don't want a 22 or a 45-70. Gotta find a cheap one in 38spcl or 357 or something.
1.4 million range Springfield Armory

Damn I honestly expected them to look a little worse for wear than that.
Has a springfield stock and the cutout for the springfiled armory milled triggerguard with the rear loop.

Yeah, I'm especially impressed by the muzzle and throat wear, which is below what they say to expect.

I had it for longer than that! :P
Ar10's suck. Get a ptr 91. Why does anyone bother with ar10's. They are mediocre battle rifles at best.
Why buy anything in 308 besides a Tika or a PTR?
Why buy anything in 308 besides a Tika or a PTR?
I still can't find a PTR MSG 91 SS... Even contacted PTR and they said they won't produce anymore until an order of 25 rifles is placed. Best thing I can do is go for the standard PTR MSG 91 on GunBroker and live with that. But I really wanted that damn SS barrel...

Or you could just order 25 of them from PTR.

Because, in my opinion, I am more comfortable with handling an AR10 and believe they are more user friendly/easier to operate. I do love FAL's though. Regardless I would never buy an AR in anything less than .308 and that's coming from my experience as a Machine Gunner/Rifle Range Coach in the USMC for four years.
Buy/build an AR-10 if you want an AR-10. It won't perform as well as some other options but if you like the platform better that's what matters.

That's what I was getting at is that it's user preference. Same as people who carry revolvers vs. automatics as their EDC.
What's wrong with an AR-10? They are touted to be the most accurate of the .308 semi autos when compared with the M14, G3 and FAL.
Sure, if you want to spend $5k + and buy a PSG-1 or a MK 20 SSR, they're more accurate.

You can still get crazy accuracy out of an AR-10 without dropping that much cash. With a solid free floated barrel and good ammo people have managed .5 MOA, and thats not using something like a JP Super Match Barrel.
Speaking of JP Enterprises, a lot of you know they're based in Minnesota. Their head mechanical engineer whose been there since the begining happens to shop at my store and delivers our orders. He brings in a lot of kick ass stuff, and I'll tell you from experience if you want top end shit they're the ones who make it.

They make some quality AR-10 stuff; Lilja uses their bolts to set headspacing with their AR-10 barrels.
If you want a .308 battle rifle, there is only one option: M1A variant
