How about this for a federal ban - a ban on banning or restricting individual firearms by name?
Theres already a law in place saying that our right to firearms shall not be infringed and look where thats gotten us.
Oh yeah, that.
The petition exceeded the goal, so now the White House has to respond to it.
The petition exceeded the goal, so now the White House has to respond to it.
"No" -WH
The petition exceeded the goal, so now the White House has to respond to it.
They'll respond to the petition like they've responded to literally all of them "lol no, not feasible. Are you people fucking stupid?" I don't think any of those petitions have ever made it past the whitehouse saying no.
People never think of the side effects of what such changes would cause. Yeah, ban AR-15s, they will all just dissappear. It'll just kickstand a huge underground market for them, just like Australia has a big underground market for semis, pumps, short barreled/concealable guns.
conveniently my ar15 is tan
That's why mine's Navy blue. Also why it's called an SSP-15 by its manufacturer. [editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
So we just rename the gun, just like we do when guns get banned by name. Hell, I think only one company names theirs AR15 and every one else just makes slightly modified names.
Pretty certain that only company that names it that is ArmaLite since that's their actual patent name for the rifle.
I'm pretty sure my Mauser C96 is an illegal assault weapon under the AWB... [editline]14th June 2016[/editline] Semi-automatic pistols with detachable magazines and two or more of the following:
These features included an ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip, a threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender or flash suppressor. forward handgrip, silencer; a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the nontrigger hand without being burned, a manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; and a semiautomatic version of an automatic firearm;
I know, but I think if they were trying to ban guns they would make it fit that rule.
So the government decided to respond to the petition about the AR-15 requesting it be moved to non-restricted. Nobody at all is surprised that they said "no."
Would our gun rights survive if Hilary was elected?
Would our gun rights survive if Hilary was elected?
Depends entirely on the composition of Congress and the Senate.
I think it's a little funny when everyone gets all upset about the Assault Weapon Bans. Because in NY we've had the SafeAct for years now and it's just normal to me now. Ironically enough they don't vanish and like no one registered them. So a lot of guys around here still have them. All it did was turn ordinarily law-abiding citizens into potential felons if they get caught out with one. But yeah, all you gotta do is buy an AR lower from a gun show and than buy the rest of the parts online if you wanted a new one. I, of course abide by all laws though.

But I bought a lower myself, since I already knew what I wanted to build, and ended up being cheaper than buying prebuilt. [editline]15th June 2016[/editline] Shit they even sold me 30 rounders.
There is also a State to the South of NY called Pennsylvania where all our rights are still stand and you can make a day trip and buy just about anything you want. California has a couple of them. They're called Nevada and Arizona. Welcome to age ineffective feel good legislation.
Ugh, I just read all these self righteous posts on Facebook from my fellow countrymen talking about how nice it is we don't have guns here and don't have mass shootings unlike some countries :vomit:
Living in California doesn't help either. Unfortunately we still have people who adore the AWB.
I'm in CA and had almost no interest in ARs but I just bought a lower and bullet button kit out of spite of the people on facebook self-righteously patting themselves on the back for being against "guns that are only designed to kill."
I'm sorry for your loss friend. But to be honest, while I was in California, I don't think I had a single weapon that DID comply with the AWB.. Lets see: MP5, HK33, G3, AR-15, AK-74, PSL-54c.. Nope. None of em did.
Chinese AKs are on the ban list but not Soviet ones. AK-12s aren't either as far as I know :v:

The San Berdino shooter could've killed more people had he not had to struggle with the dreaded bullet button. Oh Shit, I forgot he didn't have a CA Compliant firearm because terrorists don't obey the law.

Hello, a lurker here. My family has recently moved to Nevada from New Jersey and I can't believe how relaxed the gun laws are here. Since I can now purchase a firearm after not even thinking about it for years, I was wondering what pistols (preferably 9mm) you guys would recommend? I going to get a gun case and all that jazz with it to be as safe as possible, maybe even take a class even though i've gone to the gun range a hand full of times. I don't need a $2,000 pistol or anything like that. Just something that is a good to start my addiction with as a beginner that's fun to shoot and isn't going to break after a few hundred rounds.
Since I can now purchase a firearm after not even thinking about it for years, I was wondering what pistols (preferably 9mm) you guys would recommend?
You are going to get the same recommendations across several forums. Glock 17/19, M&P9, XD9, police trade in, or a 22 pistol (usually a ruger). Hold each gun in a gun shop and determine which fits you best. If possible, rent and shoot each one to see which feels the best. A couple other alternatives to Ruger 22's is the S&W Victory and the Beretta Neos. Both are infinitely easier to field strip for cleaning over a Ruger. You can buy all of these guns used if you want to save a little cash over new prices.
CZ P07 without a doubt.
Get a metal framed gun with an external hammer if you want a fun gun. Get a Glock if you want a gun for self defense of hunting.
If you can ever find a Hi-Power, grab it pronto. Love my grandpa's

[editline]another thing[/editline] Another thing to note is that the gun comes with a holster, it isn't the greatest but with some finagling you could use it to carry. Also on the holster is a magazine pouch, but I'm absolutely not a fan of the tiny fucking magazines. Ballistically the 9x18mm is similar to the .380 ACP but plenty of people carry little .380's all the time. For $250 bucks you can't really go wrong here, it's still a neat little handgun.
