anyone ever fire or handle a mossberg maverick 88? looking for a cheap shotgun and online reviews rave about it
anyone ever fire or handle a mossberg maverick 88? looking for a cheap shotgun and online reviews rave about it
If you fired one mossberg shotgun, you have fired them all. Only difference between it and a normal 500 is the safety and trigger group. Mechanically its identical. Just buy it.

Hey what's this about 9x18 being hard to find? I mean, it's not as common as 9mm, but bimetal Tulammo and Wolf are easy to find online and not expensive either. Check out Gunbot if you haven't already.
Doesn't change the issue that many ranges do not allow steel core ammo, which bimetal basically is.
in my experience they only disallow steel core rifle rounds, handgun rounds are usually fine up to 44 mag.
I have a dutch M95 which has a conventional bolt. 6.5x53mmR is unobtainable. I have never shot it :)
Says they don't have any, do they load to order? [t]http://i.imgur.com/fWa5dFc.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/EEAsjuZ.jpg[/t] It's a great handling all-matching gun with super sharp rifling, too bad some hick tried to sporterize it and there's no way to undo the damage he did. They are rare in the US as I understand it. Points supremely well, though.
ares scr...
It's like a baby SOCOM 16...
I don't have anywhere to set up my press and have no dies and no idea how to use it even if I had anywhere to set it up or had dies. :v:
It's like a baby SOCOM 16...
it's a pretty sharp looking thing tbh. one of those with a third pin would be pretty rad
You know nobody really gives a fuck about non compliant guns right? Unless you're Albany or the city. Then you just get people who look at you with disgust because you have a child killing device.
Hypothetically if I were to do that I wouldn't advertise my intentions on the Internet. I'm building a AR by complying with all Federal and State laws. Truth is I already have an AR. Which is also completely legal. This is my second one, and I'm not going to bury it in the backyard. [editline]18th June 2016[/editline]
It would be cheaper to just move states bud
That's not even remotely true.
It's like a baby SOCOM 16...
How does bolt carrier go? Proprietary Bolt Carrier/Buffer?
How does bolt carrier go? Proprietary Bolt Carrier/Buffer?
The bolt carrier is like a Semi-auto shotgun and an AR15 had a freakish love baby. Downs side of the entire package is lack of last round bolt hold open, mag release harder to reach and proprietary trigger assembly. So no AR15 drop in triggers work right now.
I know I'm weird, but I never really had an issue with 50 State compliant ARs. They're annoying and cumbersome, but they're not freakishly ugly and useless to me IMO. The SCR actually looks really neat, too. Like something I could pull out and my grandfather who hates ARs would fall in love with type different.
Neat. Too bad it's $7,999 US DOLLARS And it's illegal in my State. After that hundreds of mass shootings that involved belt-fed weapons the powers that be decided that they should be banned too.
Did a holster course with my club today, it was pretty fun. The weather was brutal, it was like 35 degrees. The range got shut down at 1:30 due to fire hazard warnings. Tried my 380 again and it still doesn't work reliably. Gonna have to see about fucking with the mag lips or getting some snap caps and cycling them or something.
Semiauto LMGs are kinda lame. Defeats the whole purpose of it's design. The prices on those civilian LMGs also suck no matter what.
M249s apparently cost the Army $4000 a unit. :v:
I'd be reluctant to pay $400 for one of those jamomatics, let alone $4000. They can't cost anywhere near that much to produce. What a joke.
My dad's safe just broke, and I figured out how to fix it, as well as learned a bit about how electronic safes work. Frankly if you were strong enough you could easily break one open, from what it seems.
So I ordered a new scope for my PSL and it was supposed to be delivered on Saturday. My package was the mail guys last stop at close to 5pm, so he just marked it as undeliverable so he could go home on time and it's being sent back to Kalinka and theres nothing I can do about it. FML
Fedex?
USPS, god blessem [editline]20th June 2016[/editline]
Call the parcel service and chew them out. I did that one time and made them turn the truck around.
In the process now but the wait times for the calls is over 30 minutes and the call holding hangs up on you after 30 minutes so I basically can't talk to anyone. None of the local facilities will answer their fucking phones either.
Guess what came in the mail today? [t]http://i.imgur.com/Q2MDzko.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/xjkWKLL.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/iLNfjrl.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/C9sFakJ.jpg[/t] This is not an Adler, it's another Turkish shotgun, this one's called the "Warrior," but Uzkon has also marketed it under some name of theirs. Except Uzkon asks $750, Adler $800 for theirs, but this was $350 after shipping and taxes. First impressions: The thing comes completely field stripped, even the springs are out of it. There is actually nothing covering the end of the extension, it's open, which means crap can fall into the mag tube. I intend to tape it shut. It comes with 3 chokes; improved cylinder, modified, and improved modified, and they come in a nice little hard plastic case with a choke wrench. They are supposedly Browning Invector threaded. The action needs some oil, but that's not surprising. I mean, it's not super rough, but it's not silky-smooth either. The lever likes to rest just slightly off the bottom of the gun, as in there's a bit of slack in it, but pressure from your hand will keep it on the gun. Finish is okay. It was shipped in paper, so there's some lines in it and maybe one or two places where it's rubbed off a little, but oiling it will probably make it look better. Again, for $300 it's about what was expected. The wood looks fantastic, aside from the one area they cut out for the lever. That is unfinished, I guess because you're not often going to be looking in there. I plan on sanding that a bit to make it so I don't get splinters, but otherwise the wood is great. It comes with 2 lengths of spring, one for the extension and a shorter one for the normal tube. There is no cap on the end of the spring in the tube, the spring just goes in. Now I need to put the spring and the mag cap somewhere where I won't lose them and they won't get damaged. With the extension, it's supposedly 8+1 capacity. I'll have to wait and see how it shoots on Canada Day, but so far I can't say I'm disappointed. I expect with some oil and time it'll get smoother, and the finish is decent. I suppose the real test will be when I finally get the chance to take it out duck hunting, which will hopefully be this fall. I plan on ordering a 14" barrel for it too when the importer I got it from gets spare barrels in, supposedly they'll only be $50-$60.
I'm not sure if this is a recent thing, but the Turks seem to be getting good at churning out decent guns for cheap. I have a Turkish-made 1911 that has so far come very close to my buddy's Kimber quality-wise for like a third of the price.

Atlantic arms has them. Haven't heard anything bad about them but I don't think I'll ever get a 9mm rifle at $1k+. Have to mail it back and exchange it now.

Avoid their shotguns at all costs though. Many are do not have properly heat treated parts and the guns seem to fall apart according to reports on other forums.
