Hey, I'm looking for a good concealed-carry magazine pouch for my dad, he's got a Glock 23. Any suggestions?
I cc a full size glock most days. I'm a burly guy and know only other carriers notice printing
You would think I would have my CC yet
But I still don't. Too busy buying more guns than the permit to carry them
Took my Mosin out and the barrel picked some screws up off the workbench... It's become magnetic. Why is my Mosin magnetic?
Update: The bayonet is magnetic, not the rifle.

have you been using brute force (ie. a hammer) to get it on and off of the rifle? if so, that's why.
hammering metal into metal makes it magnetic.

That's why. Never even occurred to me. Thanks!

Finally got a job that I am actually interested in instead of a job that I get just because I need one.
Pay isn't crazy good, and they only pay for half the cost of the armor that is required for the job, but hey, I get to be paid to carry a gun and ride around in a armored truck.
Here in Ohio Brinks seems to hire complete morons. I've seen everything from cheap Wal-Mart holsters to untucked shirts. I've applied twice and never once heard back from them. I have two OPOTA certifications (Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy) and numerous other certs that should have gained me at least an interview.
So, I have a pretty negative outlook at Brinks due to that. But congrats! Remember to never become complacent with the job and always be alert.

Opinions?
Wouldn't buy it new. Not a good price and very limited in use. More money has to be thrown at it to make it useful. If it landed in my lap or got it for a steal, pistol grip is coming off, standard stock going on.

What's a good entry level 12 gauge? I have experience with shotguns and I own every platform personally except a shotgun. Don't wanna spend a fortune for my first one but I don't want to get a piece of shit.
Those Cruisers feel badass in person but why pay more money for less gun? :v: You can buy the same shotgun with a proper stock for less and get a pistol grip later if you want.

Get a used 870 or 500. Both are good, particularly the 870 if it was made prior to 2005. The Mossberg will be cheaper. If you want a brand new pump shotgun, get a basic 500, maybe even the combo barrel ones since it has great value.

Winchester SXP. New 870s rust, and Mossbergs feel cheap. The SXP has a nice fit, finish, and a good reputation. At least 3 people at my store own one, and if I were to get a pump it's what I'd buy.

Idk if I want a pump or semi auto. I kinda like the Mossberg 500.

Would this be any good for concealed carry?

Doesn't look bad

Cheap semi autos are not that great. If you go cheap with a semi auto (<$500) you are going to find a lot of unknown makers and beat up used guns, usually unproven designs/poor quality. So far the cheapest semi auto I have seen, and would use with confidence is the Mossberg 930 Watchdog Edition that I ordered a over month ago ($550 w/tax, was on Clearance to make way for the new Kryptek shotguns). Now that deer season is well underway, minimum is going to be $600 for new. Might be a little less with used. Also, semi auto are very partcular about what ammo you use. Some like heavy ammo, some are meant only for clays, some can do both.
You might be able to get away with $550 Mossberg 930 off GB though.
I am too lazy and keep forgetting to do the whole FOID thing now that I'm 18

Applying for the FOID is just a little inconvenience. The real pain comes with waiting for it to get to your house.

I'm a machinist of sorts so if anyone needs to know why something ferrous has turned magnetic I'm your guy
As soon as I get my Polish AK in, I am going to immediately start saving up for this baby. $2,100 off the website, going to take at least a year and a half. Easily one of my biggest dream gun that I can save up for.
Semi Auto Belt Fed RPD in 7.62x39

I am hearing that semi auto belt feds tend to jam a lot since they are closed bolt, I don't mind it as long as it like under 3/100 rounds.
Anyone here have a semi auto beltfed?
havent posted here in forever so heres an update on my arsenal

Well, passed my driving test and physical for brinks, thighs are going to be wrecked tomorrow, get to go to Indianapolis possibly next thursday.
I am just excited as fuck to finally have a job I want instead of one that I just need.
Also, driving one of those money trucks is pretty nerve wracking.

From the people I saw in the building, everyone seems professional, everyone has shirts tucked, looks nice, etc. We had a few heavy set people there, but they were behind a desk, most all of the drivers/messengers looked pretty professional. The guy I did the driving test with is a Iraq vet, speaks arabic, german (very well, but limited), and spanish, pretty cool guy, then again, he's our city manager.
So Brinks might be different here in IN? I dunno, but yes, I don't ever plan on getting comfortable on this job.

Semi Auto Belt Fed RPD in 7.62x39

RPD triggers are terrible, long and heavy, so enjoy trying to empty a drum.
The guns run fine, and I think Battlefield Las Vegas has some of the DSA RPDs converted to full auto; when they wear out, it is because the milled receivers crack.
IMHO, semi auto belt feds are worthless unless you can bump fire them and shoot them like they were intended.
Otherwise, why not get a regular rifle and add a drum and bipod?
Everyone has that "grail gun" so buy whatever makes you happy.
They've been trying to get that RPD into Canada for 2 years because it's not a Kalashnikov action and since it's belt fed there's no mag limit.

In Commiefornia you can only link 10rds in a belt...

I just think the design is REALLY cool, I love the belt fed design as well, I love the charging handle, I love everything about it.
I guess it is one of my guns that I just really want since I think it is cool.
It's just not the same if you buy an RPK and slap a drum on it, it is not belt fed.
edit: It's also a 7.62x39 beltfed, which is a bit unique and cheap to feed.
My current range rig. I set it up so I can run a rifle, shotgun or pistol. It's just something I can wear to carry a magazine or two, some shells and be tacticool so I don't have to go use my table that sits at a 70 degree angle every twenty seconds while I'm shooting.

What do you guys think about selling guns? I have a Hi-Point 45, along with a dozen or so others, but looking to get rid of this one...basically tearing it down you have to use a rollpin punch...long story short, PITA. The gun works but I'd rather sell it and put the money towards a Ruger LC9 or something. Still unsure about selling it.
