Just spent a bunch of money getting accessories and what not for my guns. Hopefully, they'll be waiting for me when I get back from Okinawa.
Depends on the firearm.
I guess anything in modern use by civilians and military, preferable with some info and/or demonstration. But a bit of a history lesson would be interesting too if there is a channel for that. I like to have a well rounded knowledge of something, even if i never end up using it.
I know I've bought a FN made BHP, a 10/22 and a Mini-14 this year, but I'll buy a PPK/S as well, and I swear that'll be my last gun purchase this year.
Now all I need is an MP7 :))
I've seen one for sale about one or two years ago, but you had to buy it with bitcoin, take with that as you will :v:

He mostly focuses on more modern firearms, but tends to go into some detail on the background of the firearm, too. Also, Larry Vickers has some neat videos if you want some shorter clips with action and history/facts type of commentary.
I love TFB-TV Lots of interesting stuff. Good bright high resolution video and the guy is cool too.
The next few years are going to be tough for the Bill of Rights
How many of us here are committed clay target shooters?
How many of us here are committed clay target shooters?
Only thing I can do here, so 100%.
How many of us here are committed clay target shooters?
Similar to Pruss's experience but it ranks one slot higher. Competitive Bulls-eye and the like are the most boring types of shooting to me. As for clays, you need to have a lot of money and time to do clay shooting. It's just like golf where the old people have the time and money to spend on that hobby and do it everyday. Younger folks, not so much.
I did some clay shooting for the first time ever on July 4 with my shitty M10 and old SxS. Found out the M10 does not like being racked while diagonal, but my SxS was great for it. I had a lot of fun, personally. It was hard to overcome some habits I've formed - not shooting into the air, not firing 'til I'm perfectly still, etc.
Christ, I've never heard of anyone having experiences like that. I feel bad for you guys - it is, in my opinion, a really great sport. I suppose the gun culture here is a lot more different, with the rigorous licensing process and sport shooting being one of the few gun-related activities possible in Australia. As for $4000 shotguns, in Australia, it's understandable. If you rock up with a cheap, Turkish over/under, people won't take a particular liking to you. I suppose it'd be like bringing a Hi-Point to a competitive pistol range - does it work? Sure, but it's not designed for that type of shooting. Can't speak for semis or pumps though, I know nothing about them.
I can see how it'd be boring in an environment where everyone is taking it really seriously, but just lobbing pigeons and drinking beer among friends who all sucked equally was fun as hell. My friend managed to get the M10 to cycle three times at an angle (which never happens) and hit two clays once each and one of the broken ones a second time. It was cool as fuck.
I personally love trap shooting and detest skeet shooting. Trap to me is just more fun and the Fish & Game club I shoot at is a very welcoming place.
Just committed to an M-LOK upper from Aero Precision. Hopefully I didn't fuck up.
i'm certainly not because it has to be the most boring shooting form i can imagine. doesn't help that the shotgun range here is so full of 60+ years old assholes that hate anything that's not a $4000 beretta or browning. show up with a pump or semi (that's not a beretta semi) and everyone's gonna be giving you the stink eye until you leave. wait 1 hour to shoot one round then go because there's 50 other old sods waiting to shoot.. yeah, no. rifle and handgun shooting is much more fun.
So, Prusse gives it trap shooting a 2 plinks out of 10? Myself personally, I love trap shooting and shoot it regularly. I take my 16 870 and beat most of the older crowd with far more expensive semis routinely and leave not caring. It's not really that expensive of a shooting sport when compared to non-plinking rifles like .22 or 5.56. It's about as expensive to shoot as a .30-06 and a little more fun to hit a moving target. But I'm also not 90% of shooters who just wants to spend a lot of money on the latest tacticool or Benelli-ist gear. I'd rather spend time just hitting stuff with lead projectiles and enjoying that sweet aroma of the moon.
I shoot trap sometimes, but it's expensive. One range that does it nearby is full of the snobs mentioned earlier, the other one that allows walk-ins for rifle and stuff too lets you shoot with basically whatever and nobody cares. It's also the one that attracts younger shooters.
So apparently Riker's Island is getting KSGs...I'm so sorry for them... http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/07/08/rikers-island-guards-issued-kel-tec-shotguns/

I like to shoot skeet or trap with friends in a private environment, but the worst fucking thing in the world is some Fudd coming over to you at a range and trying to tell you what you're doing wrong when you're just trying to have fun. I know my 18' Winchester 1200 Riot shotgun is a piece of shit, I'm not out there to set records I'm just there to have fun. I'm not about to drop 2 grand on some O/U I'll rarely use. I'd like to get into 2 gun competitions and the like just for fun the but the local communities for it I've seen are a bunch of overly competitive ass hats. I understand it's a real sport that people take seriously but it's such a fucking put off.

Might impulse buy an FS2000 tomorrow. Need lefty friendly. Need 5.56. Need tacticool.
Might impulse buy an FS2000 tomorrow. Need lefty friendly. Need 5.56. Need tacticool.
Why not? They don't make them anymore.
Just committed to an M-LOK upper from Aero Precision. Hopefully I didn't fuck up.
Aero Makes good shit. We stock their stuff in my shop, and our armorer whose been building AR's for over 30 years thinks it's fantastic. A hell of a lot better than Sota Arms or Red X shit.
Might impulse buy an FS2000 tomorrow. Need lefty friendly. Need 5.56. Need tacticool.
If it's gotta be a bullpup and you're going to spend that kind of money get an X95 IMO. The FS200 is just clunky and awkward.
Looking at a few budget bolt actions for a project. Savage Axis, Ruger American, Mossberg Patriot. Might pay the extra buck for the MVP - anyone had any of these?
Might impulse buy an FS2000 tomorrow. Need lefty friendly. Need 5.56. The gun as listed for $1250. They're going for well above that on Gunbroker.

You can pick them up for around $300 or less used, and there's a shit more that you can do with them.
