3.5lbs is the new threshold:

That is disgustingly light. At that point, will gun have any durability? Will it be fragile? You limit your self so much with an AR15 that light. You can't even use most accessories for fear of going up to 5lbs without a decent optic.
I'd rather a 5.56 bullpup with a 16" barrel than a 10" barrel AR.

with good ammo my rifle lays clovers at 100 yards. a pencil barrel just isn't capable of that.

Are these silly? Yes
Are these over the top? Yes
Do I want one? Yes
Though I'd be willing to bet the AR looking ones won't make it into the country.
What am I looking at? Straight pull rifles and shotguns?
What am I looking at? Straight pull rifles and shotguns?
Adler are making some bolt action 12ga shotguns, the AR-looking ones come in 4+1 and 10+1.
That being said, are there mag limits on Cat A shotguns in Australia? I know there's a limit of 15 in a mag for rifles, but nothing on shotguns.

What's with the upward curve on the barrel of the second one?
Wasted about 200 rounds of .223 today to learn that I can get 2MOA with my AR and a broken Russian scope, but the iron sights are hopeless. So now I need to find a case big enough to fit my AR with scope on it. Fucking China.

Buy used unless you want to blow no less than $1800. I scored a deal at $1500 but that was barebones, just the rifle. That means no sights or anything.
After I bought an aimpoint, still delaying getting BUIS but yeah shit is pricey.

I also used my entire tax return on it lol
Wait, we're elitist here? :v:
In all honesty, they're not great looking, but they're not putrid. Beats the shit out of Commiefornia legal ARs.
I wouldn't mind shooting one just to say I shot a bolt action AR.

Here are my current links on building a 5lb or lighter AR; there are two groups for the most part, $700-1K and $2500+

I wonder where the initial reports of a SKS being used originated?
Well, shit, that's a lot less interesting.... (No, I didn't realize it.)
i just really think those 12ga "ars" are ugly as sin. doesn't help with the ugly design they chose for the bolt/bolt handle, sticks out like a sore thumb.
my M1911 is Turkish and I rather like it actually
My levergat is Turkish, 12GA, and a knockoff of the Adler and it's a riot.
And I honestly can't think of why you'd regret an SXP unless you realized after getting it that the defender model you got is useless or something, because they're frankly the best pump-actions in their price range on the market.
Moving away from the elitism, what do S&W Model 28s go for in the US? I want a .357, and there's a 28 for sale up here for $650, but I may be able to talk him down. It's got Pachmayr grips with a slight tear in them, don't know if he has the original grips either. Also, do you guys think the N-Frame on the 28 is too big compared to the K or L frames offered in the model 27/586/686?
isn't this the first time a 5,45x39,5 gun has been used in a "mass" shooting in the US? or am i forgetting something?
I think so. Can't think of any others.

get a side charger and remove the gas key, instant bolt action

It also had a terrible fud camo job on it too though.
After the ordeal at my buddy's ranch I decided any time I take my C96 out I want it to stay close to me. I have a Chinese military holster for it but it's more like a sling and is kind of a pain in the ass for general range use, so I started looking around at other options. I don't want to lug the stock around all the time so that was off the table, and I don't really like the snorkel look of the US military holster for the C96. I wanted kind of a low-slung old west style holster for it, but none of the cowboy holster makers have ever seen a C96, let alone made a holster for one, apparently. Then I had an epiphany - Han Solo's holster was pretty much what I was looking for.
But some cheapy Halloween costume prop holster wasn't going to cut it, and on the serious builds Han Solo's holster is integrated with the belt - a solid replica of the whole rig is too expensive and ultimately too Star Warsy (relying on other sci-fi props stuck into it) for my taste. I got to looking at other more obscure DL-44 holster options and settled on an Imperial pilot's rig. I got in touch with a leather worker who specializes in good holsters for Star Wars costumes and we quickly figured out that the Imperial holster wasn't really going to work, since it was designed for use with a resin cast and not the weight (or exact shape) of a loaded original. He made some tweaks to the design to cradle the pistol better and long-story short this will soon be mine:

We kept the Imperial cog to give it some flavor - after all Star Wars was the reason I ever became interested in this pistol to begin with.
So I don't normally go to the range to shoot rifles because why pay when I can just go in my back yard but I went to one on Sunday and I dealt with my first range/accuracy elitest. I Had my Arsenal SLR-107FR, my Norinco SKS, and my AR-10 with me and I was shooting at the 50 yard line. There was a couple next to me shooting a 22LR rifle and a Lee Enfield rifle and the three of us are just sitting there enjoying ourselves plinking away. Well while I'm loading another AR mag the dude from the that was shooting at the 100 walks over to us and tells the couple they're wasting the Lee Enfield and their time by shooting it at the 50, then he looks at me and told me I was wasting my time as well. I promptly told him to go fuck his hat but seriously like fuck off dude I was shooting because I enjoy it, I'm not one of those dudes all into quarter size groups and shit. And fuck during my time in the Marine Corps I was a machine gunner so accuracy by volume anyways. But the couple was just shooting for fun as well, I don't know what I'm getting at, I just thought he was a douche bag for coming over just to be snide.
I dunno where you guys go but I've never had issues like these at my ranges. Most range interaction I've had was some dude asking me if I wanted to shoot his Kimber or fuckoff huge .44 mag with a scope.

Why not just buy a modern practical pistol thats not a hilariously huge pain in the ass to carry?

It's for range/ranch, not EDC
