Who and how much?! Because I want.
I'll hook you up when I get to the hotel, it was $68 shipped
So I'm going to be in the market for an SMLE MkIII*. Now I've never owned (or shopped for) a firearm before, so I'm curious as what I should be looking at for storage, and what should I be looking for in the conditon of the gun before I buy. As well, what should I be ball-parking for a price on an SMLE MkIII* Any help is appreciated. Also if it helps I live in the hell state known as Connecticut.
Barrel crown is everything with SMLEs, good bore and bad crown is a useless gun. The stocks are usually real soft wood so be gentle. Slather action in breakfree CLP to protect.
Get a MkIV they're more fun if you don't need a shoulder for long.
good crown and bad bore is worse than bad crown and good bore. a child could recrown a gun, it's stupid easy [editline]12th July 2016[/editline]
Get a MkIV they're more fun if you don't need a shoulder for long.
It's for reenacting first and foremost, as the group I'm a part of is the Brits in 1918.
Damnit, i forgot to clean my pietta navy 1851 last time and it got super rusted up. I decided i wanted to strip the blueing while cleaning it, so i vinegar soaked it. Moved the hammer to clean it and the spring snapped. Double damn it. I mght just find a spring online to avoid deaqling with warranty bullshit.

Just go onto midway or any other blackpowder site and order the spring. It's great that old blackpowder designs are stupid simple and have usually easy to replace springs.

If you can get yours apart, just replace it yourself. Mine had a bunch of over-torqued screws with broken heads and shit so I sent it back to be their problem. Alessandro Pietta ended up overseeing the rebuild himself, but it took ages.
Did some research, turns out even below 21 I could carry in my car if I have an FOID. What's a good, inconspicuous compact that could slip into a center console?
get a side charger and remove the gas key, instant bolt action
Now they just need to make some Leftie Side Chargers and I'd be in business!

Ahhhhh The guy in dallas was using a shotgun Now that finally settles it. I couldn't for the love of God figure out why when he kills a cop, there are multiple sparks appearing behind the cop. I mean, how come he is using and rifle and there are multiple sparks? There is no auto fire sound so....wtf? Jesus, that was some packed firepower for an urban scenario. Wonder if it could have been worse had he been carrying an AR.
Glock sub/compacts. What kind of car?
Volvo V70. I got about 10" reliably in the console. Reason I don't want glovebox is 2fold. 1) That's a lot of reach and a lot of time spent. The console I can keep my eyes forward. 2) In case I get pulled over, I don't have to go through a long winded "there's a gun in there" speech BS 3-ish) Compacts are stylish

That's why there were sparks, he was shooting surplus 7n6 and the steel core was sparking off the cement. Multiple sparks, full auto? You can pull the trigger pretty quickly on a low recoiling, semi auto AK with a Tapco G2 trigger. [t]https://sofrep.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/MicahJohnsonAK-1.jpg[/t]
60kmph winds later today at clay shooting, rip
60kmph winds later today at clay shooting, rip
My best round of trap was done in a snap snowstorm. The snow slowed the clays down a bit so I managed to get 17/25.
It which case, maybe it was just unburnt powder igniting in the air around?
no, it was steel cored ammo shattering against cement, that makes loads of sparks
B-b-but I thought the ATF banned that ammo!?
"Armor piercing" ammo is banned but somehow Soviet surplus doesn't qualify even though it is.
I thought they threw out the armor piercing ban?
"Armor piercing" ammo is banned but somehow Soviet surplus doesn't qualify even though it is.
2 things 1: steel core ammo isn't armor piercing, not any more than any other rifle round. 2: armor piercing rifle ammo isn't banned and never was. there aren't any 5.45 pistols on the market to my knowledge. ar and ak pistols are the reason AP 5.56 and 7.62x39 are hard to find. only armor piercing pistol ammo is banned even though literally any rifle ammo will outperform "armor piercing" pistol rounds.
