my leave got canked so I cant pick up my rifle to do the background check, what do?
Well if you got perminant duty station orders you can have it transferred to a local gun shop near where you're stationed and get it there. That's about all you could do though unless you decided take a flight Friday night and back Sunday under an out of bounds chit.
So I adjusted the sights on my pistol using a laser bore sight this evening. I ended up with the pistol shooting in the center of the sights, but about 6"-8" higher than point of aim. The trouble is that the pistol is shooting that high with the adjustable rear sight all the way down. If I aim at the bottom of a round standard 25m pistol target, I hit dead center. The problem is that I intend to use the pistol for IPSC, as I'm taking the license this September. I would really like to get it shooting right on, as that would be a lot more suitable for standard IPSC targets. Any suggestions on how I could get the point of aim lower?

Or train yourself to shoot low.
Replace the sights. Or train yourself to shoot low.
Training yourself to shoot low, because one pistol you own is fucky, is pretty dumb
Training yourself to shoot low, because one pistol you own is fucky, is pretty dumb
Why? Better to aim low and hit something vital regardless than aim high and miss altogether.
So I'm in the Army and I'll be moving to Ft. Riley, Kansas next week. I'm interested in buying my first firearm there, preferably a rifle. I read up a bit on the firearm laws there and they seem pretty lax at first glance. However, I'm not sure about the full extend of the laws and could use some insight from people who have lived and owned firearms there. So any information I should know before I get there?
Since Grenadiac is on vacation I figured I'd post a picture of the holster I got from the same guy who made his. I love this thing even more.
I've had him go on ahead and ship mine since now I should be home before it hits my doorstep. Can't wait to get it, it looks lovely.
Anywhere you can get ghost sights for a Mossberg 500 at a decent price? Looked online and they're mostly 100+, local gun shops either don't have them at all or none for a 500.
Replace the sights. Or train yourself to shoot low.
The issue with replacing the sights, would be that I would have to order them online and have no idea if they are actually going to give me a lower point of aim. The guy who I purchased the pistol from didn't tell me about it, but then again he had a massive shooting error that had him adjust the sights so far to the left that the gun wasn't even on paper when I got it. This isn't only my opinion either. I got another IPSC shooter to shoot the pistol, and he also shot about 6" high with it, exactly at the height of the laser bore sight.

Might be that the front sight is too low for it and you need to bump up to the next front sight height.
Why? Better to aim low and hit something vital regardless than aim high and miss altogether.
Because you screw yourself up for every other gun.
Did the pistol come stock with the rear adjustable? Might be that the front sight is too low for it and you need to bump up to the next front sight height.
I'm pretty sure that the sights were changed at some point by the previous owner, but he didn't have the original sights anymore when I purchased it. It's kind of a niche pistol Grand Power K100 Mk. 6 (STI GP6 in USA), so I would have to look online for sights for the pistol. [editline]20th July 2016[/editline]
Because you screw yourself up for every other gun.
Actually all of our .22lr target pistols have had their sights adjusted to so that when you shoot just below the black circle of a standard round target you hit the center. This is because that is a much better aiming point for competition shooting, so I'm very used to that style of aiming.
Why? Better to aim low and hit something vital regardless than aim high and miss altogether.
Defensive shooting isn't a thing in his country. Pretty sure he has to keep the gun at a club and can't take it home under any circumstance. And it also fucks you up for literally every other gun you own when only one of them is a pizza shit. Why fuck yourself like that when you can just take the gun to a gunsmith and have the sights professionally sighted?
handguns used for precision shooting in scandinavia are most often calibrated to hit dead center if you "rest" the target on top of the front sight. it's called "rullende skyting" in norwegian, "rolling shooting". you should probably get a new front sight for it. taller one of course [editline]20th July 2016[/editline] danish gun laws suck either way (lol eu) norwegian ones are at least a bit better
"a bit better" My Australian tears [editline]21st July 2016[/editline] 1000 posts!

Found someone selling a Colt Python for $900. Got suspicious when the ad said "will ship to any state in the US and Canada." No wonder it's been up for 2 months at that price.
That just might be your friendly ATF agent with some mounties.
Well, I finally set up my rifle the way I like for competition. She may be fugly, but she my fugly. [t]http://i.imgur.com/4Ov4Xqh.jpg[/t]
That just might be your friendly ATF agent with some mounties.
No it's blatantly a scammer. Nobody sells a Python that cheap, and reverse image searching the pic they use comes up with a ton of scam warnings.
pretty sleek looking actually
Agreed. I don't usually pay much attention to AR builds but that one has a unique look and I like it.
My C96 holster arrived while I was cutting the grass so naturally I had to drop everything and check it out. Comfortable, really doesn't feel like I'm lugging around an extra 2.5 pounds. I think I gave him the wrong measurement so the strap is way too low for my leg but I'll get that fixed by a local leather dude. e: 7:39 PM - Howl: nice boner bulge thats not a boner bulge those jeans are just too big theyre my work pants
Wait are you a fellow leftie?
Nope I'm a righty. I took that in a mirror. :v:
Damnit, heathen.
I shoot long guns left handed but pistols right handed. It's because I'm left eye dominant and right hand dominant.
I'm right hand dominant for gross motor and left hand dominant for fine motor so just fuck me.
I purchased and installed a Cajun Gun Works Professional Trigger Upgrade kit in my P-09, which I initially thought was rather expensive at $220, but IMHO I'd upgrade any CZ with an Omega trigger with this. It reduces the mile long trigger reset significantly (they claim 50%), which was my biggest gripe about the pistol, and it also reduces the 12lb DA to about 8lbs, which is a noticeable improvement. Some of the springs in the kit are reduced power, but I chose to stay as close to the original spring weights as possible for reliability's sake when the kit gave me multiple spring weights. I'm going to run some wolf 9mm through it tomorrow to check reliability.
