Buy a PTR.

What state? In NSW you just do the 28 day PTA period once for each firearm category, not sure if that's same for Cat H though.
MR762 :^)
or just a tacticool FAL
I would kill for a MR762 but theres no way I would pay 5 grand for an over glorified AR10. Id rathwr just build one with a 14 inch barrel and tack on a flash hider or fake can.
PTR is the way to go for battle rifles imo.

TAS, not my first gun know how it all works, just wanted to know its manufacture date.

Buy a better G3 Clone and get a PTR91.
if I were ever to get an MR762 (or MR308 as they are sold as here) i'd get one with the g28 kit
models available here are

PSG-1 grips make any rifle look fucking gorgeous...
Buy a better G3 Clone and get a PTR91.
It's really not worth it to get any G3 clone except the PTR series and HK's (but those are so rare and wildly expensive you might as well just get a PTR). C308's and CETME's and those federal knock offs really aren't worth the time or money. Just spend the extra cash and get a PTR.
If I can trade up for a PTR, I most certainly will try. If not, I'll look at selling for cash.
I emailed the guy with the A1 style AR on Saturday, he responded at 4am on Sunday, I asked if he'd negotiate on the price. Never heard back from him, and now Armslist emailed me saying the ad might be a scam. Poo.

That is really beautiful.
Fuck, I want a PTR now. Probably gonna for a GI R, once I've added to my IRA and saved up some more.
I'm getting into a debate with someone regarding the finer points of our absurd storage laws for firearms. Someone wants to leave a stripped Garand receiver on his coffee table. Someone told him it's fine since there's no bolt. I said that'd be true if it was "in storage," but since it's on a coffee table it's "on display," and the law states that a firearm on display must be rendered inoperable by means of a secure locking device. So I told the guy with the Garand receiver to stick a cable lock through it and he can leave it on his coffee table.
So yes, you need to cable lock a receiver even if it's the only part of the gun you have and it's on display. You also need to trigger lock a stripped AR lower and lock it in a locked case when transporting it because it's still a restricted firearm and that's the law about restricted firearms.
It's the privacy of your own home you shouldn't have to do shit. Tell him to do what he wants and disregard that bullshit nonsense. The ATF isn't going to knock down his door over it.
[editline]27th July 2016[/editline]
I just realize you're a Canadian.
I'm so sorry.
[editline]27th July 2016[/editline]
Point still stands though.

Of course not, we're in Canada, the RCMP will be the ones knocking his door down over that nonsense. All it would take is him to have one guest over who hates guns.
Also I legally can't tell him to disregard the storage laws because that would be counselling others to commit a crime, which it itself a criminal offence in Canada.
If you lock the bolt up you can "store" the gun without a lock on it, I did that when I first got my Arisaka, but to "display" the gun it needs a lock regardless unless it's an antique.
No more C308. I didn't get another rifle so I'm going to save the money for now.

What didn't you like about your C308?
Karl from InRange seemed to think they were ok:

Heavy, not ergonomic, lackluster accuracy (yes I know it's a battle rifle), not the most reliable compared to other G3 variants, terrible trigger. Plus I shoot left handed and the design isn't accommodating for that.

How can he prove that? I really doubt you'd get in trouble at all. Deny everything if they even question you.
My point still stands. He should do what he wants in his own home. If the possibility of your RCMP having literally nothing better to do then to go getting search warrants to find stripped receivers for 100 year old heirloom items because some fucktard decides to panic and call the Police at the mere sight of a dismantled firearm he should not be inviting those people into his home.
I have three loaded handguns in reach of me at my desk right now. Loaded shotgun in the living room and a shotgun in two other bedrooms. My point is I know what I have and I don't go inviting over anyone who I think is going to have a panic attack when they find out I keep loaded firearms in my house. It's like, one of the first breaking the ice topics I talk to with my girl friends. Not because I really want to but because I have too. If I realize right away a girl friend is anti-gun I can safely say that I don't want to date her because she's could potentially cost me my freedom over some dumb shit one day or at the very least lose my patience for her if she has to constantly question why I do what I want with my property. I especially don't want a girl to hug me on a date and find out I have a gun in my waistband and freak out.
I may be rambling, my point is he should do what he wants and make sure anyone he lets into his house at least understands his passion and hobby without calling him in like he's a terrorist. If he can't or is unwilling to do that, it's his choice I guess but it seems dumb to me that you can't do what you want or be comfortable in your very own home because of the fear that a guest will see you incarcerated over a harmless object sitting on a coffee table.
[editline]28th July 2016[/editline]
It's not like he's doing lines of coke on his coffee table. It's a inert piece of a machinery. Harmless.
So today the RCMP officially said "We don't care what the law or mag manufacturers actually say, we think 10/22 mags are pistol mags because of the Charger so pin them to 10 rounds"
So the CSSA and CSAAA, which are two gun rights groups in Canada, are launching a class-action lawsuit against this decision, and trying apparently to strike down the magazine capacity restrictions as unconstitutional. The RCMP poked us, so now we're poking back. If the mag laws get declared as unconstitutional, there's going to be a buying frenzy of AR mags and power drills. Hell I'll buy 5 and a drum mag, and pre-order 16 round mags for my Sig if they manage to succeed. Plus I'll be able to unpin my SVT and help my parents unpin their SKSes. I can't really unpin my Chinese mags because China fucked them royally to pin them, but they're unreliable piles of shit anyways.

What the hell is wrong with the RCMP? Why do they have such an inexplicable fetish for pinning mags?
Heavily debating on selling my Cz evo and using the money towards a garand. Hmm
Selling a CZ and not getting another one? For shame.
You'd have to be Norwegian tier retarded.
[editline]29th July 2016[/editline]
And speaking of retarded you should totally hook me up and let me shoot a suppressed rifle when I'm in Norway next week because my chances of doing that are fuckall here in the US.
What the hell is wrong with the RCMP? Why do they have such an inexplicable fetish for pinning mags?
Because the Liberal Government of Jean Chretien in 1995 introduced magazine restrictions and told the RCMP to be as restrictive as possible when it comes to gun control.
I'm flying into Oslo and wandering south with a friend but where we go is super flexible.
how retarded would it be to put a red dot sight on a bolt action rifle?

in a kind of patrol rifle setup (short heavy barrel, bipod, suppressor, and a cheek riser with spare mag+ammo in)

red dot on a short bolt action in like .308 makes for a decent brush gun but personally I'd prefer a ghost ring on a setup like that
Nowhere anywhere nearby has any 8mm bullets for reloading, and I don't want to pay $12 in shipping from a place that's 3 hours away for a $41 box of bullets.
i live 7 hours from oslo by car..
Well I'm not so sure this is happening then :v:
Selling a CZ and not getting another one? For shame.
I'll buy a CZ handgun down the road, a real one. I just don't shoot the evo enough to justify owning it, it's not a collectors piece, and I honestly don't see myself spending the time and money to get a legit trust setup to SBR it, and I also don't want to have to wait a year to get the paperwork through for it.

I've always fantasized about buying a Savage Hog Hunter in 308 and putting a micro dot on it.
