You need a better lawyer bro or you bullshitted us on the story
Got my Uzi receiver yesterday from McKay and the mags and additional parts I ordered from RobertRTG, so I built it all up:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Cgtx6qO.jpg[/t]
Assembly was a little tricky since the McKay receiver had some problems- a nick on the barrel housing prevented the barrel from inserting without excessive force, and the hole for the pin that secures the lower to the upper was too narrow and had to be widened to fit properly. But, I got it together, and it seems to function test properly with snap caps. Should be testing live fire tomorrow. If all goes well, I'll disassemble it, clean up the receiver, Aluma-Hyde it, and strip and refinish the stock.
I'm finding I like the wood stock better for the carbine conversion, but once I get it SBRed I'll switch back to the folding stock. Oh, and I finished filling out my SBR paperwork, so I'll get that in the mail tomorrow too. It wasn't as much of a pain in the ass as I thought; I got two sets of fingerprints done at the local UPS for about forty bucks, I printed out a face photo at home, and the rest is just paperwork.
You can get a shitty NFA trust online to avoid all that paperwork, and you can submit it all digitally on the ATFs website to make it go faster.
but it's the same exact action, brno mod 2 clone
In which case I hear a lot of good things about it. People love the JW25 here, and if it's the same action as the JW15 then it'd probably be a good buy.

I was going to, but as of last month NFA trusts are required to get fingerprints and photos just like individual applicants, and currently the e-file system is down as they update the back-end and who knows when that will be up again.
Also, the CLEO sign-off for individual applicants got changed to CLEO notification, so there's really not much benefit to me in using a trust instead of just applying as myself.

That's what I was thinking. Particularly for only $275. The only other gun that price is those Mossburg plinker things and I personally think those are shit.

Mossberg anything are piles of shit, but if you're talking about that bolt-action .22 with the ugly skeleton stock that's an even bigger, uglier pile of shit.

Wait, when did the ATF require trustees to get finger printed? I'm surprised that wouldnt be big news.

Why pay that much for somethinf you will literally never use?
I'm actually really tempted to take it to work. I work in an industrial setting, and hitting your head is pretty real. I'm almost sure I've got some form of brain damage because of it. Which would also explain buying the Kevlar.
Anyway have some content

Glory to Arstotzka!
I have an AR-15 that I never shoot because I also have an XCR.
Any recommendations on a decent .458 SOCOM upper for the AR? I camp and backpack a lot in bear country. I always carry bear spray and a handgun, but the handgun isn't for bears and the bear spray only works if you are the one being attacked.

That's a pretty build. What kind of barrel and guard are you running on that?

Kevlar isn't a good replacement for a hardhat. Just wear your hardhat.

Your 2 options are the cheaper Rock River Armory upper and the more premium Tromix upper. Both are excellent with a caveat. You must use either a solid/full length AR15 stock or a collapsible stock that has an additional friction clamp (ex. Magpul CTR) to prevent the stock from collapsing from the recoil. Third option is to build it yourself.
Also invest in reloading dies cause fuck that ammo's price.
I managed to find and snag a 922r kit for the Scorpion. Now I need to start the NFA process, I guess...
This is a shooting/gun related question, but what are peoples thoughts on all the gear and stuff they use for shooting in the olympics? More so for the air rifle competitions where they have those full suits and super pimped out guns, I feel like it takes away alot of the skill of shooting but thats just me.
Olympic shooting is boring and expensive.
The gun the American shooter used to get the gold is a $30,000 pellet gun

air rifles are fun, but olympic shooting is boring as hell. a couple yards with billion dollar guns isn't a challenge, isn't exciting, and isn't fun. they could make it interesting by limiting the competition to off the shelf guns and parts for a total cost under $500. something like crosman 1322 with a quackenbush .25 conversion kit, an alliance hobby 2 stage trigger, and some good sights would be very accurate but still actually interesting to watch.
olympic sports should be about finding the best of the best, not finding the people with the best gear

Or maybe add a section resembling something like 3-gun, or military training ranges. A combination of fire and maneuver as well as physical endurance. Kinda like a new biathlon.

Likely putting in a permit to acquire in for one around next month, just getting safe and shit sorted.
I got a memerifle today.

To me, the equipment adds to their skill and talent, it doesnt create it. You give a weekend warrior the same setup and they wont do as well. Those guys have practiced for years to hone their skill, no piece of equipment can replicate that.
People always bitch about this stuff during sporting events. Same thing with the yacht racing 30 someodd yeard ago, and the amputee runner, who ended up placing last anyway. If the equipment is there and legal for use, why not use it?
I'm surprised that extreme distance shooting isn't a thing.
Then again having a bunch of foreign athletes showing up with anti material rifles might be unwelcome.
It used to be, they got rid of it a long time a go however. They should bring it back and introduce IPSC as well.

They had 300 metre rifle until 1964

If nothing else once you all have literally the best equipment made the only difference between the competitors IS their skill. In a way its the purest form of shooting competitively.
[editline]7th August 2016[/editline]
Like if we gave complifused a $30k pellet gun he still definitely wouldn't be Olympics ready.

the problem is that it excludes people who don't have 30 grand to drop on a pellet gun. being poor doesn't mean being a bad shot
