the problem is that it excludes people who don't have 30 grand to drop on a pellet gun. being poor doesn't mean being a bad shot
I'd imagine they get most of their money for that stuff from sponsorships.
I'm sure theres still plenty of skill involved it just seems like all the snazzy kit takes some of it away. It would be much more fun to watch long distance rifle shooting instead. 200m, 400m and 600m would be really cool
Give me an event with an UD target and then we'll see a real challenge.

Give them all match-grade M1As or something similar, and have them shoot at pop-up targets between 50 and 800 meters.
real suppressor or a fake can?
looks p odd
love the hg/upper colour

magnified optic btw?
A suppressor would be illegal, and I and an upstanding citizen.
Optic is a primary arms 2.5x acsx or something along those lines. I'm seriously thinking about buying a real elclam or acog.
The barrel is a 16" palmetto barrel. The HG is a Midwest industries 15" something else will link when I get home.
As for who said I shouldn't use a Kevlar for a hard hat, I wasn't issued one and they won't issue me anything, since I'm not trained. But I'm trained enough to work, just not work with tools

Ok so what job are you working where you need a hardhat but aren't issued one, and you have to work in a hard-hat required area but not trained to work with tools?
Either way, using your Kevlar for a hardhat is like using a hardhat for a kevlar. A hardhat from any hardware store is $10 and you just spent $300+ on a over glorified bicycle helmet, so theres literally no excuse not to have one.

They wont issue me a hardhat because I don't have a toolbox assigned to me. So therefor in their bureaucratic mind I have nowhere to store said hardhat.
I work for the government, so this should give you an idea. If it doesn't, think long and hard about the love and beauty of the bureaucratic system.

Ok but my point stands, a hardhat is $10 at a hardware store. If you feel the need for a hardhat is so great that you're going to wear a kevlar combat helmet on your government job, then you need to go get a hardhat for $10 at literally any hardware store on earth.

the thing is, you still shouldn't use kevlar for a hard hat. it's not designed for that, they're not built with blunt force impacts in mind. it's not the plastic part that stops something falling on your head from crushing your skull, it's the suspension built into the hard hat and combat helmets don't have that. a bottom of the barrel $6 pyramix hat is better than a ballistics helmet for what you're doing.
if you have money to burn on a hard hat, an MSA skullguard is like $80 and is super comfortable and will actually protect you from shit (from falling hammers to molten steel) falling on your head. plus, unlike your combat helmet, it's actually SEI and OSHA approved.

that has zero to do with why you shouldn't use kevlar as a hard hat
Plus if you get into a situation where you would need a hardhat to save your life, your kevlar won't protect you really. So not only will you look like a retard for wearing a BMX type helmet in place of a hardhat, you won't get any protection from it either.
nope I was in my front yard smokin a cig, had my gun cause of the area, police pulled up to question me about the area (wow), and saw me bulge.

but on your own property, CCing shouldn't be illegal on your own property
you could have just told the officer it was your dick

Depending on the state he's in, it might not matter. Some DAs couldn't give less of a fuck about the 2nd Amendment.
Took a look at the JW15. It was a piece of shit that managed to feel like it was worth less than $275. The bolt had far, far too much play in it.

Did it have play when it was open or when it was closed? Even with the play, was it at all difficult to close it at its furthest moved? To me play when the bolt's open doesn't matter unless it stops the thing from closing when I push on it, all that matters in the end for safety's sake is that it locks up tight. Every bolt wiggles when it's all the way open, I've never understood why people consider that a problem unless they can't close the gun because of it.
Also if you expected a true-to-rights CZ from China no wonder you were disappointed. It's Chinese, it's not going to be all that pretty, and it may be a little rough, but damn if it isn't going to work.

The bolt had enough play that when I pushed forward on the bolt handle the bolt would twist and lock up.

yea like I said, you are either lying to us or you had a garbage lawyer.
Aren't you the guy that went into the gold section and bragged about your boss' daughter being super hot and you wanted to fuck her, then someone found your boss and sent your messages about her to him and got you fired?

cleaned the moist nugget in full. lots of copper fouling, seems like it had some decent use on it.
also, seems like its a 1928 Tula Dragoon with matching serials.
[img_thumb]http://haruha.ru/jet/uploads/2016-08-08_14-51-28.png[/img_thumb]
Hoping to take it to the range sometime this week, maybe once my stripper clips come in. Though I'm gonna have to drift the sights if it's a Dragoon.
So there's a place selling blemished aluminum stripped lowers for like $65, and I'm kinda tempted to get one, but kinda want to save for that revolver too. It's like $90 after shipping and taxes.
I have an AR-15 that I never shoot because I also have an XCR.
Any recommendations on a decent .458 SOCOM upper for the AR? I camp and backpack a lot in bear country. I always carry bear spray and a handgun, but the handgun isn't for bears and the bear spray only works if you are the one being attacked.
How do you like your XCR? I've heard of nothing but problems with them, as cool as they are.
Fuck it, bought the lower. Now to, over the course of probably the next year, slowly build a better AR than my Chinese one to replace my Chinese one.
How do you like your XCR? I've heard of nothing but problems with them, as cool as they are.
A lot of it is because people don't read the fucking instruction manual.
First 300 rounds have to be high pressure on the max pressure setting on the rifle. No little .223 plinkers. It is a 5.56 rifle and needs it for the first 300 rounds for the break in process to actually happen. A lot of fresh rifles got a bad rap for stoppages as a result. Technically speaking, .223 and 5.56 can easily match each other in pressure, but .223 dips by a few thousand PSI in commercial plinker loads. A box of M855 or M193 ensures proper pressure.
Also keep in mind that because the piston system is adjustable, IT HAS TO BE ADJUSTED when you swap to a significantly different load. When going from .223 to 5.56, it should be adjusted accordingly. The trade off is that it will shoot any ammo flawlessly, even apparently blanks and subsonic rounds, without stoppages once you know the proper setting.
That sounds kind of tedious for such an expensive gun
Do I need any special tools to install a parts kit on a stripped lower?
Do I need any special tools to install a parts kit on a stripped lower?
Normally people would recommend using a vice block to hold the lower while you install the kit and a set of punchs. I assembled mine without a block and a with a set of channel locks with the teeth wraped in duct tape instead. Pressing the pins into the receiver was better for me since I could not mar the finish, unlike using the punches.
If you are still unsure, just search for a youtube video on it.
Well my dad has a vice and I'm sure my he has punches somewhere too, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Having the right tools makes the job easier. It can be an investment but if you plan on building several rifles it's worth getting the right tools.
I'm not, just the one.
Also the company selling them said the blemish is in the trigger area, not the outside of the gun. So 57% off for a blemish nobody's gonna see on a metal that doesn't rust. Now all I need to do is hope another set of "scratched" Colt Canada IURs come up on the market for $550 again.
