I haven't shot black powder yet, I know RR_Raptor65 does a lot of powder shooting but he doesn't post in here. Try contacting him if you have questions about it.
I got a '51 Navy from Pietta that broke its bolt spring immediately but I'm pretty sure it was just a fluke and bad luck on my part rather than a reflection of overall poor quality. After solving a misunderstanding with Pietta I got directed to their warranty center in the States and I'm waiting on a reply from them, so that will determine my final opinion of the gun. In the meantime I'm reluctant to say yay or nay on it.
I got one too, it was fun to shoot, but it turned out I wasn't using enough powder.
Everyone told me not to do it.
But I did it anyway.
I learned the hard way.
Don't put airsoft optics on real guns. MOA isn't even a thing. Full story: I threw an Airsoft elcan on my gun, shot 10 rounds with it, not a single one went anywhere near the paper. Took it off, and used just straight rails, and a front sight post. Did okay.
Moral of the story, don't act dumb.

wow whodathunk something meant for toys that wobbles all over the place wouldn't be adequate for use on a real gun with real recoil.

To be honest, I did have a guy who threw a G&P Aimpoint replica on an AR-15 and it held decently for a couple hundred rounds. Just had to adjust it 3-5 clicks to get it back on center.

wobbles on airsoft guns, not my real gun.
but hell I wanted to see if it'd actually work. Not like I fucked anything up, it just didn't do anything. All I lost was $10 worth of price gauged ammunition.
Guess I won't be buying that scope then.
Open sights it is.
if you're going to spend money on a scope (for a real gun, not a toy gun) then spend more than $68 ffs. You're wasting your time if you spend $40 on some walmart-only brand of optic that can't hold a zero

Reminds me of the welded-on scope on my uncle's junkyard rifle which fires 2 metres above the X

nah nigga gonna save up for this
gonna post my kill count to youtube live
also don't take that as anything more than implying paper kill count

Also its NV is pretty dang good

digital rifle scopes suck.
Well I mean I'm in New Jersey so I can't exactly do legit range shooting. Best I can do is inside 50 yards.
Also more video

So far I'm set on this unless I find better for relative price.
Anyone know if the Ruger AR556 can actually cycle 5.56?
If they fucking lied when they put it together, I wanna know before getting one.
I've dumped several mags of 5.56 through mine without issue
Does anyone know of any other weapons other than the M1918 BAR that had a slow automatic mode and fast automatic mode?
Lots of guns have adjustable gas systems to tweak their rate of fire. MG42 comes to mind, varying from 750 to 1500 RPM if I remember correctly. If you mean a toggle switch I don't know.

MG42 had to swap out its bolt to change the RPM.
IRC M134's can go from 2krpm to 4krpm but that doesn't really count.
oh - the M240G/FN MAG though:
The M240G has three gas settings, allowing this weapon to fire between 650 and 950 rounds per minute. On gas setting one the weapon will fire 650–750 rounds per minute, on gas setting two the weapon will fire 750–850 rounds per minute, and on gas setting three the weapon will fire 850–950 rounds per minute.
I know the FAL also has an adjustable gas system but I'm not sure if it affects rate of fire in full auto.
Does anyone know of any other weapons other than the M1918 BAR that had a slow automatic mode and fast automatic mode?
From what i cam recall, the FN MAG had some sort of gas regulator that...well...regulated rate of fire
Shiet ninja'ed
Forgotten Weapons has taught me that adjusting the tension on Maxim machine guns' recoil spring changes their rate of fire.

Yeah I did, it was on the BAR's fire selector. I was thinking about it earlier and realized I couldn't think of any weapon that did that except the BAR.

I can only imagine S = Safe / A = Automatic / F = Fast? :v:
That's what hot barrel procedures exist for pog.
Not like I was the one who did it genius; He did wait 15 minutes before removing the barrel. Our RSO isn't fucking dumb, he is a JTAC and a JFO, yeah I'm a fucking POG doing POG stuff like doing CFF, CAS, CASEVAC/MEDEVAC, clearing rooms, table 3/4, riding in CH-53s/UH-1s/VF-22, fast roping, etc. LOL

"S" position – weapon is "safe", "F" – "Fire", "A" – "Automatic" fire
The BAR had two full auto settings, one for sustained fire at 300-450 or 500-650 rounds/min (M1918A2)

Not the Army's, they replaced the gas regulators with fixed versions to keep soldiers for adjusting them.
Not the Army's, they replaced the gas regulators with fixed versions to keep Privates for adjusting them.
fixed it for you
NCOs adjusting things would be fine, but the moment you add a Private into the mix, shit goes downhill real fast. Privates are pretty much subject-matter experts at breaking shit.
The Army knows this. That's why it removes the fun from everything. Privates cannot be trusted anywhere near fun.

lmfao calm down pog. Unless your MOS starts with 03 you're a pog.
Excellent news. I just found out that some places still ship ammunition to NY State. Holy shit this is amazing.
A lot of retailers got scared shitless because SafeAct made it law that in order to buy ammunition you had to get a background check. So that meant in order to ship ammunition to NY State it had to be sent to an FFL so they stopped shipping.
But the law specifically states that will be the case ONLY when the background check system is implemented. And it hasn't been and likely never will be because it's retarded.
So I just ordered some .22LR and I can wait and see if I actually get it.
I can finally feed my M1 Carbine again.

Uh no pogs are chefs and truck drivers and mechanics and etc. Being a private doesn't make you a pog at all, sitting in the base doing non-soldier things makes you a pog.

I'm not in the military, but i'm fairly certain your MOS has nothing to do with your rank. I've also heard that Abrams crews and the likes are considered POGs.

I'm not either, but my understanding is that a pog is someone who generally doesn't go out into danger. I guess armor crews and the like technically count, especially Abrams who I think have less casualties than actual base personnel.
