I went out and shot the pietta 1851 again today, loading a whole 30gr this time. It was about twice as accurate (still not very accurate), and had a much funner feel to it. I even held down the trigger and raked the hammer through all 6 shots. I always wanted to do that. Not quite worth the 5 minutes to reload just for 4 seconds of badass, with only one shot hitting the target, but worth a try.
To answer the questions about my semis my first was a Glock 19 Gen 4 that shot hot brass into my face. 5 rounds or more in a mag, burnt my eyelid twice. Two trips to a gun smith and back to Glock didn't fix it. I spent probably close to $600 in ammunition and replacement and upgraded parts until I finally got it fixed myself. My other is my BG380 which didn't lock back on the last round and I was able to fix that by replacing the stock magazine springs with Wolff extra power ones. The Glock episode in my life left a scar because I thought by spending $700 on the latest and greatest Glock "perfection" I was making a good choice. I was going to take my armed guard classes when I got it but because of my brass ejection issue I have to wait until next summer. Personally I just want a revolver. After that I'll get another semi but I for sure want at least one wheel gun in my collection. Also some security contracts are dumb. Like some armored car guards are only allowed to carry revolvers.
Fair enough, but me personally would still use the SP01. I'm not big on polymer frames. [editline]20th December 2015[/editline] Anyone who says OC over CC is either an idiot or just wants to broadcast that they're armed to make themselves feel powerful or some BS like that. Practicality wise, OC is stupid. Yea some clothes make CC'ing harder but when you OC all you're doing is letting people know that you're a target, or scaring soccer moms and causing unnecessary drama. If it's tough to CC in hot weather, then lose some weight. Whether you like it or not, not everyone is comfortable around firearms or seeing firearms, and some dipshit with a 1911 on his hip isn't going to change that. All it's going to do is inflame peoples irrational fears. The only OC laws out there should be ones to protect hunters, hikers, and the like. Not dipshits who just want to OC into a shopping mall. [editline]20th December 2015[/editline] Yea the thing is is that a lot of gun owners aren't as sensible as you or I. There are fucking ass holes that open carry AR-15 with Beta mags in airports with the singular purpose of scaring people or freaking people out. OC should protect people who want to hike or hunt, not assholes who want to feel badass wearing a plate carrier in a shopping mall.
Not to mention CCers who just happen to have 1/4" of their magwell or back of the slide showing for thirty seconds as they grab their wallets. When you deal with OC and CC laws, every little nitpick does become an issue when you're in states that are okay with CC but not OC.

Imagine spending almost spending $2,000 to have a Glock functioning like it should have from factory.
My most reliable handgun is too big to conceal effectively and I live in a pretty rural area so I'll probably just open carry it until I get something smaller. It's more for snakes and shit than anything, I'm not really expecting a self defense scenario to come up in my town.

Every AK vs AR comparison is garbage, except this one I don't understand why everyone endlessly compares the two. They're different guns built for different purposes.

Anyone know if the rifle in this video is real or a mockup?
I'm so close to getting my KSG to work. I have determined my last issue is definitely weak magazine springs. But the issue is no one sells replacements and I tried Wolff XP springs but they're way too strong to work with 7 shells and the selector lever unless you cut them shorter than the stock springs and than they're too weak to work properly. I ordered brand new stock springs from Kel Tec and I'm still waiting two weeks later for them to show up. Either way Kel Tec does not inspire confidence so I want aftermarket springs but I don't know where to find any. Anyway speaking of KSG and Kel Tec the Corrections SOG unit uses the RFB and KSG a lot. I hope that once I fix my KSG I can get it to a point where it'd reliable enough I'd trust it in a situation like that. Either way this sort of tactical montage is just my thing.
Anyone know if the rifle in this video is real or a mockup?
I haven't seen anything similar, but I can totally see it being a real rifle, if you look past that it appears to be a single-shot rifle but she keeps reloading as if she has a magazine.

-snip- I'm retarded for not knowing the AN-94 has a canted magazine.
It is suppose to be like that.
Hey guys, im starting up a business here in florida and would like some input on a firearm that could be used for personal defense. The area that im in is a semi-populated area, two walls are concrete (one is mostly windows), the other is drywall followed by a steel overhead door with concrete on both sides, the last is drywall into another unit. Since im going for minimal penetration but highest lethality up close (keep in mind i hope i never have to use), i was aiming (pun intended) for some sort of shotgun. A friend recommended a mossberg maverick as its simple and cheap, but this is something that im going to need to have work the one time ill have to use it to protect my life. Id really like to stay under the 500 dollar range, as a simple 12g shouldnt cost more than that. Itd be great if it was at least 4+1 as i dont want to have a shell loaded when its just sitting there, but i still want to be able to cause some damage. I was also taking a look at some 20g, which would be nice as well if i could get one with a pistol grip, but apparently they are kinda so-so unless youre spending around 1k. My dad has a 12g semi auto beretta he got about 15 years ago or so, and it seems like the thing always jams until youve put about 20 rounds through it after its been sitting for about a year, even if its been cleaned out and oiled. My mom has a camo Remington 870 she won from an NRA event, but it seems overly heavy for something that id need to whip out in a hurry. I also have two other .22s i won from NRA events, ones a remington 597, the other is some no name thing that looks like an ar-15. I dont underestimate the .22, but they dont seem like viable options as someone could probably still stand after taking 2 or 3 to the torso. Have i made it clear that i dont want the person on the other end of this firearm to live, need i use it? Also handguns are halfway out of the question as i am 19, turning 20 soon. Otherwise, id just buy a judge, as the three we have right now, the snub, standard, and 6.5inch with the 3in cylinder (which has some serious fuckin recoil with the 5 9mm slugs) are incredible, even though a lot of people think theyre useless. Im not going to carry this weapon on me, it will either be at home, locked in my trunk, or in a drawer at my business. Anyways, thanks for any comments(even bad ones)/questions/suggestions in advance

Get an AR15 and load it with a home defence load. If that is too expensive go for an AK74 clone in 5.45x39mm
Download, a question you'd be likely to answer. Adler 110, what's the go on it? Is it still banned and if not it's a Cat C yeah?

It's on Cat A but apparently because it's "functionally the same" as a pump-action shotgun they're going to move it to Cat B... Hopefully we can use that as leverage to move pump-action shotguns to Cat B as well. You can also put a magazine extension on them too.

But I guess if that was actually blown up as a story it'd be negative for gun laws anyway.

In Florida, you can purchase a handgun via private sale legally. The way the law is written is that you have to be 21 to buy a handgun via an FFL, but you can purchase one via private sale or have one gifted to you by a parent. I wouldn't use a judge for HD. Use a semiautomatic handgun. Go to a gunshow and see if you can get a full size or subcompact CZ or a glock.

Anyways, thanks for any comments(even bad ones)/questions/suggestions in advance
Download and Cyke pretty much hit the nail on the head. -12ga buckshot tends to overpenetrate. -Birdshot or 20ga is not recommended- you do need sufficient penetration to ensure the shot incapacitates the target. The problem is that since shotguns fire solid projectiles it's hard to find a balance between enough penetration to incapacitate the target but not so much that you overpenetrate walls. -.22s are pretty much the worst possible choice for self-defense, so good on you for skipping that. -The Judge is not very impressive compared to conventional handguns and shotguns. For reference, those five 000 buck pellets total to 350gr of projectiles moving at around 1100fps for typical loads, whereas Federal sells defensive .45ACP that puts out 230gr at 900fps. The .45 will meet FBI penetration standards, unlike the Judge, and will not scatter all over the place at even seven yards, unlike the Judge. If overpenetration is a concern, hitting things other than your intended target should be as well. And I wouldn't trust my safety to a Taurus. -Handguns are not out of the question, you can get one through private sale or as a gift since you're over 18. -Consider an AR with defensive ammunition.
I can't wait until Maryland relaxes its stupid gun laws. Even though I've owned handguns for years, I still have to get printed and get this stupid registration card to get guns "post-ban." Adds another $150 and tons more waiting on top of FFL. And I need this before I even make the purchase. Such a load of shit. I'm a bit confused on the hate for shotguns/birdshot. That is literally the last thing I'd ever want to get hit by. I'd agree it's not going to be instantly lethal, but in the case I'm using it, which would be in under 10 feet, I think it would hurt like a MF. An ar really just seems ridiculous for situations under 10 feet, but maybe I'm wrong.

Not to mention, that shotgun you're wielding is probably going to be just as large, if not larger than an AR.
