The stock is $150, which is less than Mosins run for here these days. It's actual hardwood which is nice. I could easily get a shitty synthetic stock but I want it to be somewhat not-horrific. I don't really want to de-cosmo another Mosin only to fall in love with it too and refuse to treat it like a Mosin. I forgot about the barrel bands, though. I don't know how to get the front sight off non-destructively.
the front sight drifts out with a hammer and a punch. might take a little bit of pb blast too [editline]15th January 2016[/editline] some are tack welded on and you may need to get destructive there. you can destroy the barrel bands instead of the sight in that case
I'll have to take a look at it when I get home. Can I just bend the bands open enough to get over the sight without ruining them?
yeah you could, but there's a good chance they'll crack and if they don't it'll be a bit of a bitch to bend them back
Avoid the Taurus like it's got sars. There was a FP'er here that had to send it back to warranty repair 2 times before he just got rid of it. RI is the best value for gun. [editline]15th January 2016[/editline] les baer's are nice but not for the money you pay for them. I don't understand how anyone can justify that sort of money for a 1911. Just buy a rock island and call it good.
I know a few people with the Taurus without any issues. I'd still probably grab a RI over it though, but the PT1911 and the PT92 are the only Taurus guns I'd buy.
Would a stock like this cause issues with accuracy on my 91/30 with the barrel being unsupported for most of its length? I cherish my 91/30's beautiful tiger striped stock and want to install something I can beat up a little on the range without feeling bad, that doesn't require me to alter the steel and isn't made of plastic. This one has an adjustable cheek rest, too, and looks like the center of mass would be where I like it, so now I'm just trying to determine if it'd actually work with the 91/30's barrel length. I'd be running without a scope/bipod.
It's preferable to have the barrel free floating and unsupported. But on your plain Jane 91/30, the differences in accuracy are probably marginal. Well, after some trial and error with the issued handgun, I passed my qualification for the firearm. I'm not sure if it was user malfunction, or if something was just not right with the sights, but at 15 yards I had to place 48 out of 60 rounds on the white portion of the target. Red is where I was aiming, black is where I was hitting (I'll get some of the targets uploaded after I get some sleep). Second and third tests were alright after I adjusted my aim, got 55/60 and 57/60 I was aiming over the targets left shoulder though... Fuck if I know. I did get to shoot their remington 870 though, only fired 4 shots at a water jug, but after the second shot the front sight just flew off (rifle sight barrel) and we never found it. So, fun times I guess, I am now 100% qualified for my job.
It's probably your trigger squeeze. That's the reason I hate pistols and will pick a rifle over them every time; they are absolutely finicky about how you squeeze the trigger. If you're just slightly off, it's going all over the place.

[editline]15th January 2016[/editline] Gunna try left handed next time at the range though, dunno why I didn't think of it before. I do all my gross motor movements right hand dominant and my fine motor left hand dominant so it would be logical to shoot lefty.
The CBC has been pissing me off with the amount of fear-mongering, unintelligent anti-gun crap they've been posting recently.
does anybody here know if you can drop Ruger 10/22 furniture into a Ruger Charger? (with the stock chopped off to abide by SBR laws of course)
The CBC has been pissing me off with the amount of fear-mongering, unintelligent anti-gun crap they've been posting recently.
Welcome to the government controlled media outlets. Same shit happens here in the US all the time. Guns bad, people that own guns bad, ban all duh guns, don't mention that places with extremely strict gun control laws have the highest crime rate with firearms. It's intentional.
does anybody here know if you can drop Ruger 10/22 furniture into a Ruger Charger? (with the stock chopped off to abide by SBR laws of course)
If you mean a Charger into 10/22 stock, then yes. I guess you don't like the standard Charger stock? Aren't there companies that make replacement stock for it anyway?
If you mean a Charger into 10/22 stock, then yes. I guess you don't like the standard Charger stock? Aren't there companies that make replacement stock for it anyway?
He's asking to make an illegal SBR to play with when hes in the country. For a friend of course.
he's cutting off the stock. he probably just doesn't like the pistol grip
[t]http://puu.sh/mxAvw/1717b6fb60.jpg[/t] New toys arrived in the mail. Gonna pick up a lower and some tools and shit tomorrow. PSA's quality is really surprising, by the way. Everything about the upper and lower parts kit seems pretty on-par.
I love those boxes psa sends everything in too [editline]16th January 2016[/editline] I've thought about spraying one with truck bed liner and using it as a regular hard case. they're durable as hell as they are, just not waterproof
Since the Zastava lower and upper frontguard seems to be retardningly hard to get, I'ma ask you guys if you know where to get the donkey dong lower frontguard/frontgrip! I would like to find one, condition doesn't matter aslong as it isn't "busted" totaly. Also that they can ship to Sweden! Anyone know someone or a retailer who has them? It's for a 1966 AKM
retarded question; you know the zastava stuff won't go on the akm, yes? it was meant for some m/70? good luck i wanted to get the donkey dong one too for my deac AKM i had some years back
It fits since I got the barrel and other parts needed but I can't seem to find the last parts needed here in Sweden or abroad without having to do with customs and/or retailers who won't ship smaller orders abroad :(

Not without modifying the barrel with a chainsaw file.
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/436672/2016-01-16%2013.57.29.jpg[/t] Aw yiss.
Co-worker ordered me and him some 1/2" AR500 targets, costing me about $40 after shipping/taxes for a 6" gong.
Went to the range today it was fucking packed, walked in, people crammed all the way out the door. I'll go another day lmao
Launched a detent across the room while I was assembling, bound up the pivot pin spring, and bought a shitty American Tactical polymer lower before realizing it was polymer. Not in that order. [editline] [/editline] [sp]I'd shoot myself if my gun fucking worked.[/sp]
Polymer AR-15's aren't bad, just as long as you don't shoot them.
How the hell am I gonna get rid of this thing? I mean, it was only $80, which is ironically more than PSA's lowers are right now. I just don't wanna fuck with FFL stuff, and I'm all out of money for toys for a bit. Anyone wanna see me torture it to death once I find a decent replacement?
Uh, I broke my Mosin??? It won't cock at all, trigger feels spongy and weird but it's still got spring pressure. What the hell? I didn't do anything to it. [editline]16th January 2016[/editline] Oh my God, the fucking sear broke. How? It's been sitting in the cabinet unfired for 6 months. [editline]16th January 2016[/editline] Wait, did it break? I have never looked at this part of the gun in detail. But it's not moving with the trigger. [editline]16th January 2016[/editline] Yep, it broke. Jesus.
Did you shoot it with shitty ammo, and not clean it? [editline]16th January 2016[/editline]
Uh, I broke my Mosin??? FUCK GUNS [editline]16th January 2016[/editline] No, I haven't shot it in ages and it gets cleaned every few weeks along with all of my guns, just to keep the dust/moisture off them. I shoot Russian surplus through it when I do shoot it but it's always been cleaned after.
eh, really its just a nugget. Unless it was one of the nice ones that's kinda uncommon (but not really) you can pickup another for 150-200$
I'm just gonna replace the sear, it's a $20 part. It's a good gun, I'm not gonna gamble on another and leave this one to rust. I just don't understand how this happened. Looking at the sear through the top of the gun - you can see the split here.
