Launched a detent across the room while I was assembling, bound up the pivot pin spring, and bought a shitty American Tactical polymer lower before realizing it was polymer. Not in that order.

[sp]I'd shoot myself if my gun fucking worked.[/sp]
if it's an omni hybrid and not one of their older ones it's not that bad. I wouldn't subject it to the same stresses I would a modern forged aluminum one but it's every bit as good as one of the old cast lowers from way back when. cast lowers survived full auto fire in vietnam just fine so you shouldn't have anything to worry about if you don't try to use the gun as a hammer
I'd love to do a build like an olympic arms K24P-10 with a MEAN hybrid polymer lower and maybe a 7.5 or so inch barrel and a sig pistol brace, plus maybe a sidecharger upper for extra cool points. would be a rad as hell home defense or hog hunting gun
I'm just gonna replace the sear, it's a $20 part. It's a good gun, I'm not gonna gamble on another and leave this one to rust. I just don't understand how this happened.

Looking at the sear through the top of the gun - you can see the split here.
not surprising. trigger parts on mosins are made of just straight pot metal sometimes. Serious QC issues at the Bolshevik factories.
Uh, I broke my Mosin???
It won't cock at all, trigger feels spongy and weird but it's still got spring pressure. What the hell? I didn't do anything to it.
[editline]16th January 2016[/editline]
Oh my God, the fucking sear broke. How? It's been sitting in the cabinet unfired for 6 months.
[editline]16th January 2016[/editline]
Wait, did it break? I have never looked at this part of the gun in detail. But it's not moving with the trigger.
[editline]16th January 2016[/editline]
Yep, it broke. Jesus.
Wierd. The sear on my dads mosin had the sear screw back out once, but i fixed that with loctite.
There was a gun show today here in Jacksonville. Got me a box of Sellier & Bellot 7.62X54R Soft Points. My dad got a Ruger LCP 380, from the only private seller in there which was even better. As much as they talk about a supposed loophole, of the 25-30 sellers in there, only one didn't require a background check, and he only had like 5 guns for sale. As a result, I've been loaned the Cobra FS380 my dad had.
Well, one thing I'll admit that I do like about the Omni-Hybrid thus far is that it has these little screw-in caps for your trigger pins. They seem to eliminate the need for fancy-pancy anti-walk trigger pins.
Zastava M70's aren't made to the same spec typical AKM's are. If a Zastava handguard fits your AKM, a donkey dick and any other AKM handguard piece won't. Not without modifying the barrel with a chainsaw file.
I know that, But since I can't seem to find the zastava furniture, I'm looking for a reversed donkey dick front pistolgrip/front lower handguard. And it will fit if I put my AKM parts back
If you know any retailers or sites where I can find one, Please send it to me. If they also ship abroad that would be a huge plus

What do you mean by "AKM parts"? Unless youre taking the FSB and the gas block off and replacing the retainer ring, and potentially modifying the piece of the receiver where the handguard gets into, you're not getting a Zastava handguard onto an AKM, and vice versa.
[editline]17th January 2016[/editline]
[t]http://blog.roninsgrips.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/DSC_0015.jpg[/t]
You can not fit the Zastava handguard onto a normal AKM without taking a chainsaw file to the barrel and making a new slot for the retainer ring to lock into.

Good thing his ammo didn't work then :v:
Got to shoot the Calico today with the new parts. Unfortunately while the foregrip is rock solid, the cool smoke magazine is a janky piece of shit made of crappy plastic (creaky and flexible even compared to the mediocre plastic on the stock parts) and refused to feed, load, or seat in the gun reliably.
I shouldn't have to beat on the magazine with my fists to get it to lock so it's back to the opaque black magazine shell. Oh well. Lesson learned.
You can't shave some plastic off the magazine?
I went to the gun show today and got some Glock and M1 Carbine accessories, some more .30 Carb and that was it.
Still looking to buy a Sccy and a Glock 26 this month.

How the hell does a gun distributor go bankrupt in this kind of market? It's criminal negligence...
I want to bid on some of those ammo pallets.
On another note, it sucks that I don't get to shoot any of my guns for the next 6 months since I'm deploying.

the fact that I've never heard of htem might have something to do with it
im getting the feeling that a k11 carbine with a synthetic stock and maybe a cut down barrel would make a really nice plinking/varmint hunting rifle. ill have to try out the swiss straight pull my girlfriends dad bought before i think its a good idea or not.
i couldnt find any aftermarket stocks for them, i kind of expected more based on how many bastardized sporter stocks exist for mosins.
[editline]18th January 2016[/editline]
fuck I dunno, I think I just wanna have a fun gun build that is unique, not the ar/ak that everyone and their grandmother has. bonus points for being cheap and useable.

Got a rich friend near Miami, sent him this and he's stoked.
This is the same guy that in order to get his ex's new fiance to stop harassing him, he bought the dude's mom's house mortgage and said if he kept it up he'd have her evicted. Guys loaded. Hope to get something from it if he does end up bidding.
We should all pitch in to bid on a pallet and distribute the guns among ourselves :v:
...and thats how the facepunch militia was born
I'd love to have one of those greener shotguns, I want a martini action firearm that isn't so expensive to feed.
I just bought a Mossberg 590A1 with Magpul slide grip and ghost ring sights for $420, good price?
Magpul AK74 mags released!
They need plum and fakelite colors ASAP.

Oh man, I need to send this to the dude who does the ammo buying where I work.
I'm thinking of replacing my C93 charging handle, but I don't know which one to choose. There are two that I am considering: American made extended charging handle or a surplus HK33 charging handle.
The surplus one is half the price, but it's used and not a large area to grab. The extended seems nice, but sometimes American made parts of foreign designs have not been the best.
Surplus:

Extended:

I've installed and used the extended handle before, works fine, and def. better than the original size.
Yeah they make a world of difference when charging the rifle.
