I use ballistol now. You can buy 3 packs of aerosol cans on amazon. Seems like pretty great stuff so far. Beneficial to just about anything you could possibly spray it on, non-toxic, does everything at once, and easy to apply.
Frog lube works great for me.
So, I'm at the point where I'm seriously considering reloading again, guys. My problem is space restrictions in a 2-room apartment. I'm kind of thinking of using my office L-shaped desk for my reloading bench where I keep my PC. Any recommendations on presses that are small and compact. Looking to reload 5.56/.223, ,303, .30-06, .45, and .308 as my main cartridges I shoot the most.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/140616/rcbs-partner-single-stage-press-kit It can handle just about any cartridge under the sun, and it's compact too. It takes both RCBS and Lee dies/shell holders. I would by a powder trickeler if you can afford it. Makes using the scale easier. It looks like RCBS has a new single stage press, but it looks weird. You're other bet is to get a LEE kit. I do recommend a hand primer, since most built in tools on single stage presses suck.
Man, Kel-Tec is kind of shitty. And it's such a shame because Kel-Tec has some really fantastic ideas and some really, really cool guns but their quality control is complete garbage. It's so weird to me too because Kel-Tec has so many unique firearms that corner the market for that particular niche gun but because they're so iffy right out the box no one really wants to take the risk. The KSG being a good example, it's such a good shotgun and if they just refined it and got some good QC it'd be 10/10 but it's just not all it could be which is such a same because the UTS and the DPS12 just aren't the same.

Thats why they have failings with slow production and QC. New keltec guns tend to go for like $400 over MSRP for this reason. When the KSG came out, people were buying and selling them for like $1,000-1,500 a pop. Now that Keltec has made more than 3 of them, they're actually selling for below MSRP.
Yesterday I went to an overpopulated, overpriced, fudd-tastic gun show and somehow against all odds walked out with a Calico. [t]http://i.imgur.com/oG1iG9C.jpg[/t] I wrote up a description with plenty more images in the album.
Is that a 9mm Calico?
Sure is, with a 100rd magazine to boot.
Sure is, with a 100rd magazine to boot.
How much was that?
How much was that?
$450. Maybe I'm missing something here but all the listings I see for Liberty 100s online are in the $500-700 range so I have no idea how it was still there at that price. Edit: Frankly I was concerned that it was going to be a shitshow of jams and feed issues and was only cheap because the previous owner offloaded it at bottom dollar, but I took it shooting this morning and it did 100rds each of Tulammo and S&B with no issues whatsoever so I am very happy.
the only reasons I use clp over motor oil is because it's in a spray can and it foams up. I've used a lot of lubricants and none of them had any appreciable effect on reliability or wear.
I was using aresol rem oil mostly up until I got my p-64. I used rem oil on the p-64 and it was too thin, the safety and action got worse, and the slide squeaked. After that I used some full synth motor oil, and it got much smoother. It smoothed up the bolt on my nugget too.

Usually people have issues with the mag and the lack of mounting points for accessories and that's why they sell it. Did the mag spit rounds out after a number of cranks? Most videos I see have that happen on a full mag

Most videos I see have that happen on a full mag
Nope, the mag works fine. 23 cranks once loaded and then it fed flawlessly for the whole 100 rounds. I didn't even need to re-wind it at halfway like some people report. It didn't take much effort to wind so I wonder if maybe the spring isn't as strong as the one in that video, but like I said it fed fine and still had plenty of leftover tension when it ran empty so doesn't seem like an issue. I have absolutely no idea why the gun was A. still there at late afternoon on a Saturday, and B. such a good price. Now I think I want to get one of those see-through magazines, a collapsing stock, and a foregrip.

I would love to own a Calico, you lucky duck. [editline]22nd November 2015[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/AmFWmWG.jpg[/t] Drilled a hole (with a 1940s hand drill since my power drill is dead) in my AR-15's chamber flag and shortened it. I'll be putting a remove before flight tag on it soon :v:
Just a few more questions about the Chiappa Rhino. What Scope is this? [t]http://www.gunsumerreports.com/Chiappa_Rhino_60DS/Chiappa_Rhino_60DS_066.JPG[/t] Also. What would you recommend as a laser sight for the Chiappa Rhino? Edit: It's the Bushnell TSR-25 and a good laser sight is Insight M6
So, if I were interested in IDPA style matches with long rifles, where might the best competition for me be? I'm not looking for a 3-gun competition or USPSA style race-gun events, just a run of the mill barebones long rifle competition. Any ideas?

Their irons are actually really great and the pistol already weighs about 14 pounds unloaded, so adding a sight and a laser is only going to add to the weight.
So, I told myself when I bought my AR I would use good ammo through it. Then I realized, $0.27/round? Fuck it. I now have about seven boxes of TulAmmo waiting to be loaded up and shot out after hunting season. They are hollows, so that's nice, at least.
Funny. A revolver weighing 800 grams isn't exactly the most heavy one.
The revolver pictured weighs about 2 pounds, or roughly 1kg. It's not well balanced either.

Just buy pmc x-tac in bulk and be done with it. I don't plan on ever shooting anything that isn't brass.

Finally took the CZ to the range today. Only put 50rds through it, but it kicks a surprising amount. Probably because it's piston driven. Torso group was aiming at center mass at 20ft, and the head group was me just eyeballing Kentucky windage at 25ft.
honestly anything with a chrome lined bore can handle steel case ammo perfectly fine. chrome is way harder than steel, mild steel cases will never wear down chrome.
I've been having issues where my BG380 won't lock back on the last shot, sometimes causing the last round to stovepipe because the slide shuts down onto the case as it's ejecting. I bought a Wolff extra power mag spring and I think it'll do the trick. I'm pretty sure my stock springs just don't have the strength to positively hit that slide catch on a regular basis to prevent that malfunciton. Only problem is that I don't want to pop this Wolff spring into my magazine, load it up and walk around town with it having never shot it to see if it isn't just going to cause some sort of horrendous malfunctions on me. And I can't go shoot it because it's hunting season and I try to be courteous and not go up into the mountains and shoot off a box of .380 just to see if my spring is good or not. Basically waiting until the Spring, which kinda sucks.

Huh, Your using different targets. They look creepy. [t]http://i.imgur.com/L7IX6ol.jpg[/t] This is what i see.

I don't plan on ever shooting anything that isn't brass.
Lucky Gunner did an extensive test of steel-cased, steel-jacketed ammunition in ARs to assess reliability and wear. The tl;dr is that while stoppages are far more common with steel cased ammo, they're still rare, and the cost savings more than makes up for the price of needing to buy a replacement barrel sooner due to increased wear from the steel jackets. So I wouldn't sweat using the cheap Russian stuff for range use, if you're using steel-cased non-steel-jacket ammo then there's nothing to worry about. That said, personally I am thinking I'm not going to use the cheap stuff in the Calico again, because it fouls like crazy which is both a pain to clean and the most common source of stoppages in the Calico design. I'd rather pay a bit more for the S&B that's been extremely clean in my experience. So there are other factors.
