Democrat getting reelected, and potential gun bans caused the base prices of all guns to skyrocket, and they haven't wholly come back down.
Also fear mongering of the supply or 54r drying up and "new" mosins disappearing from the market.

So basically I can make a profit of at least $120 plus the 100 rounds of winchester 7.62 I have stashed somewhere. I knew buying these guns when I was a dumb highschooler would pay off some day!
What's a good price for a K98? I've always wanted to pick one up but I don't know what is considered "Good".
I've seen a few with the Nazi markings and good condition stocks, matching serials and clean bolts for like $700-$1200 before and some normal, good condition K98's for about $400-$700.

Price varies on the variety, condition, markings, whether it's matching, ect. I bought a re-arsenaled Russian capture with mostly matching and a plummed bolt with all the markings intact for $575.
I bought a 1943 german k98 that had been shortened about 2 inches and put in a sport stock for like $100 a while back with the intent of cutting the barrel to 16 inches and putting some irons on it for use as a brush gun
Any body here know about Golani rifles? Anything bad or wrong with 'em besides the fact that it was made by Century.
Anybody else expect to find that they've been banned when they get prompted to change their password?
Anybody else expect to find that they've been banned when they get prompted to change their password?
Changed mine earlier. No ban as far as I can tell.
Anybody else expect to find that they've been banned when they get prompted to change their password?
No ban for me yet.
Thats not a good price.
No, its not a good price.
Its the only price. Seriously. Nobody sells these things for less than $250 before shipping and FFL. This one's local, its in great condition, is a hex receiver, and comes with bayonet, sling, oiler, tool, and ammo pouch.

Seriously, a beat up late war nugget with bad crowning goes for maybe $240.
I'm having a hard time finding type 53s for less than that even. The rise in gun prices is fucking stupid.
The flat panel over the HMG StG-44's trigger pack bugs me, it looks really off, even though the shape is the same.
Stock cut looks wrong too. Hope someone does repro bits that resemble the original better. Plus parkerized StG looks all kinds of wrong. :(
Yeah the newest pictures have made me realize how wrong the left side looks. The fire selector is in a completely incorrect place.

I do not understand how they have yet to release a single video of the thing being fired. SHOT Show has a range and i'm sure they do too.
I'm probably going to buy one of the stupid things but they're being really weird about them. They have fully assembled rifles but don't have even renders of all the variants they're promising? What's the folding stock going to look like? How does the underfolder attach? I can preorder but I can't preorder those ones?
Also they didn't have any working magazines at SHOT, they were 3D printed dummies.
Didn't they say their magazine is STANAG compatible? Couldn't they have just used a 30 round GI mag or something? That's probably what i'll usually use assuming it's compatible since the STG magazine is as long as your leg.
It's an AR magwell, so it should take any AR magazine.
These old renders look slick as far as the magazine profile goes.

Giant magazines is a problem that persisted in German rifles into the HK33 with the 40 round magazines. I've always maintained that the 25 round magazines seem the most sensible for that pattern, where it actually seems to have a more even profile relative to the pistol grip than the M16 (with 30 round magazines) and AKM.

Speaking of StG-44s, I'm always blown away by how intimidating this gun looks and sounds from every angle and in every motion.

That Hitler didn't want this weapon boggles the mind. It radiates authority.
Does anyone here know stuff about crossbows? Whats the range on one that shoots around 150fps?
Does anyone here know stuff about crossbows? Whats the range on one that shoots around 150fps?
Like 20 yards. Most hunting crossbows are 300FPS-400FPS and shoot 50-75 yards.

I keep thinking that I want to buy a Turkish shotgun, since there's been a shitload of semis from there around now, including box-mag-fed ones that looks like ARs. I'd but one if they came in a 28" barrel. I'd also buy the Adler 110 if they sold the 28" model here, because I could get financing for it and spread paying for it out over a few months. I suppose whichever of these two scenarios becomes a reality first will get my money, especially if they allow me to finance it through Tactical Capital Corp. Yes, there's a company that offers financing for guns, only guns.
That Hitler didn't want this weapon boggles the mind. It radiates authority.
Ironically he was right to reject it. They never were able to build and deploy enough to replace Kar98s on a company level like the Soviets did with their submachine guns, and while production facilities were being bombed was not the time to try tooling up for a new design. And worst of all, it added another caliber to produce, inventory, and supply even down to the squad level, straining the already struggling logistics infrastructure even further.
But Hitler saw it demonstrated, decided it could be used for propaganda, and gave it the go-ahead. Absolutely typical Nazi procurement, choosing the weapon that is most impressive on the range while ignoring logistical realities. I suppose we should be thankful that the boneheaded decisions of the German leadership in WW2 shortened the war while simultaneously giving us some nice museum pieces to gawk at.
Where could one be able to get their hands on a AK-74/Tantal blank adapter.
I'm set up to be Op4 for Illinois National Guard come april.
When my tax return comes in, I think I'm going to buy a CMP Garand.
Is it bad that I really really wanna use my student loan check to buy an SVT-40.
Also whatthefuck canada why are russian milsurp guns so CHEAP.
Seriously, an SVT-40 here is like 800 to 1200. In canada the same gun is 400. The FUCK.
I mean if I knew how to import one from canada I'd do it in a heartbeat but I don't so I guess I'm just SOL.
They're so cheap here because we haven't had a decade-long embargo against Russian imports. You also can't import one from Canada, or anywhere, since the gun is Russian. That's what the embargo is against, Russian-made guns. You can't import them from anywhere. I guarantee you if you could, they'd be closer to $700 here and there'd be far less of them since you guys would have bought all of them instead.
Also good news everyone! After the Akdal MKA1919 was reclassified to non-restricted yesterday because it's not an AR variant, the Norinco Type 81 was just classified as non-restricted/restricted (for short barrels) today, meaning I can get a gun that takes AK parts and mags, but isn't an AK, so it's not illegal here. I'm just hoping it's less than a grand. If it's $800 then fuck the Turkish shotguns, I'm gonna but one of these.
Can't US Citizens go through some process to get their PAL? I remember reading about it a while ago. Dunno if that'd let me buy a cheap SVT or type 97 or something and lug it back across the border.

They can, but you still can't. The embargo isn't on guns exported from those countries, it's on guns manufactured in those countries, otherwise you'd be importing surplus SVTs ans SKSes from the Ukraine.
When my tax return comes in, I think I'm going to buy a CMP Garand.
Dude do it. I literally just sent in my papers and identification for a service grade. We can be Garand buddies!

owning an illegally imported gun isn't illegal, just importing it. send it over as a parts kit and hide the receiver where nobody will look. maybe buy a beater car, remove the rockers piston and connecting rod in one cylinder and disconnect the spark plug, and hide the receiver in there. as a bonus it'll be nice and lubricated when you go to take it out

That'd be great, except then you're spending shittons of money on importing a gun when the idea was doing so because its cheaper than buying it legally in the states.
