I don't know what Sig you're looking at, but my P226 has no visible safety. Nor has any other Sig pistol I've seen.
So, I'm arguing on another forum with someone. This person supports an assault weapons ban. His whole argument is that Ar15s have too short a barrel to be useful for anything but shooting people and keeps ignoring me when I mention there is nothing stopping you from fitting a 16" barrel on a semi-auto hunting rifle like a Mini14

Usually works :v:
Man this sucks. Still waiting for my updated pistol license to pick up my new guns. There is no such thing as instant gratification in this State. I dropped $1000 and now I have to wait for a $10 piece of plastic to come in the mail before I can go pick them up.
re: guys's gun's hammer catching on clothing and firing upon falling why on earth would you carry a gun without a firing pin safety? i get that for competition use they are not even needed and if removal makes the trigger pull smoother, do it but on a carry gun?
It did have a firing pin safety, ha just wasnt using it, and relying on the stiff DA pull to prevent NDs. I was trying to illustrate how this is a shitty idea.
not using it? he took it out or what? most handguns have a piece that slides/revolves into place when the trigger isn't pulled, to keep the firing pin from hitting the primer unless the trigger has been pulled completely
Glorious Bolshevik P64 doesn't have this. Safety was off so the trigger pin safety wasn't in place. Hammer got caught on the doods clothing and he shot a hole in his floor. If he carried a modern firearm like a sensible individual this wouldn't have happened. But hey, at least he saved $75 by buying a surplus handgun for CC use.
(or if he engaged the manual safety instead of relying on the DA trigger)
(or if he engaged the manual safety instead of relying on the DA trigger)
(Or if he bought a modern firearm instead of a poorly designed polock surplus handgun, he could have relied on the DA trigger)
I don't care how modern my firearm is, I'll never rely on the trigger not to go bang if something pulls on it, or the firing pin not to strike the primer if something overwhelms the hammer while there's no safety engaged. Safeties exist for a reason. Carrying a P64 is perfectly safe if you do so in a safe manner. If you're carrying a handgun cocked, locked, and off-safe, you're asking for a ND. Are there better handgun choices? On paper, sure. But in practice, if the P64 fits my hand best, if I find myself to be a good shot with it, if it suits my carry style, and if I don't have the money for a newer gun that I like more, then I'm going to carry it. Cyke would fucking flip if he caught me carrying my C96, guys.
consensus, he dum Honestly, I'm happy with my taurus 809c. DA/SA, firing pin safety, half cock, manual trigger safety, I've put 100 rounds through it so far and no mechanical issues at all. If I were to buy anything for CC, it'd probably be the SC version of that same gun. I'm just very happy with it.

I want a new handgun but fucking Maryland and their dumb laws now. Have to get printed and get some stupid card saying I can buy handguns, even though I've owned handguns for years.

I found a 3/2 house on 5 acres for 24.9k. It's a REO and needs some work but it looks like less than 15k worth of work would turn it into a wonderful home, and that $15k includes appliances lol.
Yeah where I'm looking to move has some shit for handguns unlike every other state around it. Nothing for any long guns though, which is what I'm far more interested in.
speaking of handguns i just paid for one of these. http://imgur.com/a/e5IoG. a miroku liberty chief.

People who worship the M14/m1a carry a crap ton of elitism with them.
ooo, classic firearms got some FEG hi-power clones. Seems this batch is a bit more cosmetically worn than what they usually get, but i might grab one. 280 for a functionally identical hipower clone is still pretty good even with the wear. [editline]25th February 2016[/editline] What do you guys think of hi-powers?

Don't forget to remove the magazine safety. I think everyone should own a 1911 and a Hi Power.
Is it bad that I'm not really a big fan of shooting 1911's? I mean I like shooting my 45 in every way more than a 1911 shoots.
Get a new wife, there's some pretty cheap ones in Kentucky :v:
Or mail order brides from Russia. Wonder if they come with AK and wodka, comrade?
1911's aren't for everybody. But I will acquiesce they are AMAZING handguns. I have an ex(former?) marine buddy who owns a really nice Kimber, dude's a fucking surgeon with it. I watched him put 10 magazines into 10 groups less than an inch in diameter at 15 yards in no time flat. Like maybe 1-2 seconds per mag?

Part of me kind of wants to shell out the extra $150 or so to get printed and get this card, because that's what these laws do - try and prevent people from buying guns because it's a pain...but then again... They have "more info" on me, which I disagree with. But I really want a 1911 or a Ruger LCR...so I dunno what the fuck to do.

I can't believe fucking Hogan hasn't done anything to fix these gun laws yet. First conservative governor MD has had in ages... Would you guys do this printing and card thing and just deal with it or should I hold out hope to see if things change?

Or a state that hasn't historically been a red state, for that matter. Blue states and draconian gun control tend to go hand in hand.
