Nah 22lr sucks, but I'm a massive wehraboo so this is as close as I can get to a MP40.
Um. How the fuck does 22lr suck?
Um. How the fuck does 22lr suck?
Wouldn't say they suck but they're boring as fuck IMO. I'll never buy another one most likely unless its just some absurd design.
22LR Isn't my favorite, but I'd like it a lot more if it were possible to actually buy the shit anywhere other than online.
for plinking I'd rather just shoot an airgun than .22 tbh
Don't see that every day: a select-fire M4 carbine for sale in Australia. They want only $9999 for it.
Only $10K ? that's cheaper than the US where they go for $16-25K, less if you buy the DIAS. Also, for those of you hating on .22lr or don't have a .22lr firearm, why do you not have a Ruger 10/22 and a Ruger Mk II or Mk III? Best .22lr guns I own.

Best .22lr guns I own.
I got a Ruger 10/22 takedown for free from Ruger for selling guns for them. Sold it for $300 and got my FN FAL cerakoted with the money. I don't like .22LR, honestly, for three reasons 1) .22LR guns aren't innovative or fun, they're either clones of other guns (gsg22, ak-22, etc) or various designs of bolt, lever, and semi hunting/plinking rifles. 2) If I want an AK-47 or an AR-15 patterned rifle, I'll just buy an AK-47 or an AR-15. When I can get an AK or an AR for maybe $200-$300 more than the .22LR clone, why would I choose the clone? 3) If I want to shoot, I'm gonna shoot. I don't really mind spending money on ammo to do it, and it's not like 7.62x39 or 5.56x45 or .308 is really all that expensive. Sure it's more expensive than .22 but it's a hell of a lot more fun/satisfying. The only small caliber rifle I want is a .17HMR for small game hunting. Other than that I'll stick to .223 and above for rifles and 9mm and above for handguns.
I use .22lr for utilitarian use only. I've got a .22 bolt gun that's fucking phenominal for rodents (raccoon, gophers, even groundhogs), and that's all I use it for, it never comes out for anything but removing rodent.
I've always preferred a high powered air rifle for those [editline]2nd March 2016[/editline] You can shoot it out the window at those fuckers tearing up your garden no problem.
22lr is love, 22lr is life... Life until fat preppers buy up all the stocks in town for 3 years straight and resell at 500% the normal price because Obama gonna come for em all. This is what helped cause me to sell one of my 22's.
I don't have the issue of no .22lr on the shelves. Theirs normally at least a few bricks and a good double armload of 50count boxes of standard federal remington or w.e. On fridays / saturdays you can normally find buckets at my local academy and gander mtn.... Lets not mention the local mom n pop stores here also have the hard to find 303 British...along with more .22lr... I guess your opinion of it really changes if you can find it or not.

A 30 dollar box of 550 goes close to 70, a box of 50 goes for 10, etc. Academy always has 50 round boxes of Colibri and Super Colibri for dirt cheap, and some other mom and pop's have a few 50-100 round boxes. No one has it like they used to, and for around 3 years you could rarely ever find it. It's just now picking back up. If it does pick up more, I may get a 10/22.
.22 just doesn't get anything pumping for me. it can't do anything that either a shotgun or a good quality air rifle can't do and it's not all that exciting to shoot.
This. Plus if you have a cheapo shotgun, 'plinking' gets even more easy/fun All you have to do is buy those bigass cases of target shells (usually like $0.25/rd), empty out the small shot (or, hell, even shoot it who cares) and replace it with whatever the fuck you want. Skittles, pebbles, minnows, rolly ranchers, dead batteries, the list goes on. [editline]2nd March 2016[/editline]
I use .22lr for utilitarian use only. I could just use regular old crosman domed pellets for about 2 cents each [editline]3rd March 2016[/editline] or I could pull out the custom valve I have and put in the oem one that takes co2 cartridges, which are about 40 cents each and get me about 40 shots per 12 gram cartridge
I can understand not wanting a .22 pattern ak or ar (why the fuck would you spend $400-500 on that anyway?) but something like an oldish marlin 60 is just really fun to shoot, plus .22lr is cheap here. The default sights kinda suck though, any cheapish decent sights for one?

I think of .22 as sort of a round to shoot with the fun bigger calibers and if you alternate between them at the range you can shoot a good bit of more expensive fun calibers and a lot of the cheap .22 and it makes it seem like you shot a lot more and to me, it makes the range day more fun and fulfilling.
Don't see that every day: a select-fire M4 carbine for sale in Australia. They want only $9999 for it.
I'm interested...

A No5 Jungle Carbine. That thing's gonna kick like a mule. I can't see the arsenal stamping on the receiver, not sure if it's just because of potato quality or what. Do you know where it was made?

That's sick, I wouldn't mind having a real No5 but I want another SMLE first.
There's a SMLE at my local gun store but it's missing the rear sight and trigger.
There's one at mine for $450 in Rhodie camo with a fuckoff big telescopic scope on it. I can't decide if I want it or not, I love the Rhodie camo but iirc it's a pick-a-tin rail which doesn't belong on a SMLE in my opinion.
I probably would enjoy shooting .22 more if I owned property and could go out back and pop off rounds at whatever the fuck I want whenever the fuck I want, but I don't. I have to pay to shoot at indoor or outdoor ranges where I live and don't know anyone with property. So I don't really feel like it's a good use of my time to pay to shoot .22 I guess.

May see about making my own mini range.
Keanu Reeves does some 3-gun
Holy fuck, John Wick is a true story and he's living it
I never thought I'd want to shoot guns with Keanu.
So he is actually good at driving, hand to hand combat, and shooting. John Wick is his autobiography.
