Miroku revolver. Don't see those too often. I'm not even sure if they made any that are still legal in Canada
I just bought a Brazilian Mauser chambered in 30-06 today for $200.

Wouldn't the ROV and all the shit you'd need to use it cost more than you'd get from salvaging that shit?

Well, I'm definitely getting a Ruger AR556 in the next week or two. I'm mulling over getting this or a carry handle sight for it.
Anyone have anything to say on the subject?
Yes.
That's not much more than a new production Marlin in 45-70 goes for. At least in the states. Not sure about pricing in Ausland but that seems like a pretty good deal.
I think I'll ask him how much of the price can be knocked off if the scope was taken off. I'd want a very good scope one a gun like that.

Aren't you in the military? Both those rear sights aren't that great, I was never a fan of the BUIS. Go for some Troy sights.
Went to the gun show yesterday, cried over all the pretty things I can't afford. Then the range afterwards, GF shot our friend's bersa thunder 380 and loved it, she's picked that one for her first handgun. I really liked it too.
Damn was I impressed by how she handled it. It and her nugget. Handled em both like a champ.
About hit our other friend though. She pulled out the nugget to show him cause he hadn't seen it all dolled up yet and he got all "dude careful man range etiquette" when it was: unloaded, pointed downrange, finger away from the trigger, and bolt unlocked.
He felt like a dick for it, and damn well won't do it again. Meanwhile friend 3 all damn day acted like he'd never taken a gun safety course in his life and kept fingering the trigger of every single gun he touched all day. Made everyone nervous and he's not coming with us to the range again until we sit him down and talk about that.

only thing about 600ms is that the peep they come with is too tiny for any practical usage. if it's not high noon it doesn't let hardly any light in. drill it out to about 110 thou and it's perfect

4x is pretty decent for 45-70. What were you thinking of tossing on it?
Also do you know anything else about the scope? What's the objective? What brand? Is it fixed or variable zoom?

How much did everything in that picture run you, minus the floor mat?
So after almost six weeks of waiting for my firearms permit, I finally got it! I then went to pick up my very first personally owned firearm this afternoon. It is pretty much a Grand Power K100 Mk. 6 "Target" model.

The seller (an older guy, in his late forties probably) was very nice, and gave me a lot of advice on how to get started with IPSC.

I took it to the range, after getting home and found out that the gun wasn't cycling properly, but remembered that the gun was completely dry, because the seller had cleaned it completely for long term storage. After a bit of oil, it was running wonderfully.

I adjusted the rear sight, and got it shooting somewhat on target. I'll go to the range again tomorrow and make further adjustments. Hickok45 made a video about how to properly adjust your sights, so I'll probably rewatch that.
I let our local pistol inspector shoot it, and she liked it, even though she does not have that much experience with "high" caliber handguns. She is an extremely good shot with target pistols and rifles. A lot better than me in those disciplines.
I'm not entirely sure if you guys get how big a deal this really is. There are probably not much more than a few hundred, perhaps a thousand full size pistol owners in the entire country. Most of the shooting community is about target shoting with .22lr pistols, 300 meter rifle shooting, skeet shooting and good old fashioned hunting.
Youre like Danish dirty Harry.
Thanks man! Also I apologize if the pictures are too large, I forgot to make them thumbnails in all my excitement.
Now I have to start looking for a pistol rig (belt, magazine holders, holster), and any other things I might need for competitive shooting, while I get more familiar with the gun.

It's a fixed power Redfield and I'd probably put a Leupold on it.
how's the Zhukov and AK+ grips holding up?
Zhukov is fantastic, grips are fine but in need of replacement. I'm hesitant because I'm not sure which grips will/won't work, and the thought of buying something from some obscure website just to have to return it anyway puts me off a bit. I wish I could find a factory Saiga gas tube ANYWHERE online, so I could use the original front-end furniture.
How much did everything in that picture run you, minus the floor mat?
C39 Milled AK ran me about $900
Sig Sauer M400E was about $1100, plus $150 for the Vortex, $300 for rail+install, and like $40 for grip and rail pieces
Saiga .308 was about $850, with a $50 csspecs magazine and a $80 stock.
Sooo. $3470 thereabouts
Finally got my permit back.

My Glock 26 and Sccy CPX-2
The Glock is what you'd expect.
The CPX-2 is definitely an inexpensive firearm in all ways. Like, it's a good-looking HiPoint essentially. The gun rattles harder than a Thai hooker and the slide had all these metal shavings in the groves and stuff out the box. Also the slide-stop is impossible to use with your thumb by it's self, it's easier to just rack the slide again.
I'm going shooting tomorrow I'll report back.
Picked up an AMT Automag V for $725 usd at my local gun show.
Its number 1832-3000 but from what I have researched they never finished the entire production run so there is actually only about 2000 of the handguns floating around.
it came with the nifty all leather custom holster unfortunately the seller did not have the original carry case
it fires the .50ae round like the desert eagle but is spring operated which is pretty crazy

Update: went to the local shop after work, they didn't have it in stock. Big surprise. What gets me though is that apparently, the weapon's on back order. They don't know how long it'll take to get one in, and I'd prefer to have it sometime in the next two weeks. My unit's got range qual coming up at the beginning of April, and I need some goddamn practice.
I'm going to check some other local stores over the coming week, and maybe Bass Pro/Gander Mountain if it turns up nil. If I don't find anything by Friday, I might go for this off of Gun Broker.
Biggest reason I'm saving that option for last is because I dunno if it's legit. I keep seeing it pop up, so I figure it might be some guy with a bunch of weapons he wants to get off his hands. It looks a little too good to be true though (the weapon's being sold at base cost with an RIS and gripod), so I'd appreciate anyone's opinion.

The rail and grip pod aren't worth the extra $100 (I sell that rifle for $649). Those look like guntec that's maybe worth $60 bucks on their own. Rather put a moe on for $24 bucks and a moe foregrip for $20, use the rest to buy mags and ammo.
Honestly I have a spare KAC rail like that I'd give away if it got the gun sold faster.
The only gun I've ever considered selling though is my KSG. Like every day I consider it again.
That gunbroker rail looks like a piece of shit pot metal one. I agree with UncleJimmema and would put a MOE on there. If I just had to have a rail, I'd get a Midwest Industries two piece.
Big win for New South Wales shooters today.
New genuine reasons for obtaining a Commissioner's Permit required (citation needed- download?) to obtain a suppressor have been added:

What the shit.
I'm actually shocked that passed.
[editline]8th March 2016[/editline]
Wait:
NOTE: When the silencer is attached to a firearm, the firearm is classified as a prohibited firearm under clause 10 of Schedule 1 of the Firearms Act 1996. Therefore, the applicant must apply for a Prohibited Weapons Permit for the Silencer and a Firearm Permit to authorise the possession and use of a prohibited firearm, being a firearm to which a silencer is attached.
I suspect a prohibited weapons permit is a bitch to get. I wouldn't know coming from SA instead of NSW.
What are the requirements to meet level 2 safe storage?
Section 32C of the Act provides mandatory minimum requirements for level 2 safe keeping and storage of prohibited
weapons as follows:
* When a weapon is not actually being used or carried, it must be stored in a locked steel safe of a type approved by
the Commissioner and that cannot be easily penetrated.
* The safe must be bolted to the structure of the premises where the weapon is authorised to be kept.
Failure to meet these requirements is an offence carrying a fine of 50 penalty units, or imprisonment for 1 year or
both.
A permit holder does not have to meet the level 2 requirements if they have provided alternative safe storage
arrangements that exceed the minimum requirements of section 32C of the Act.
For reference, this is the standard A&B Storage requirements:
What are the requirements to meet level 1 safe storage?
Section 32B of the Act provides mandatory minimum requirements for level 1 safe keeping and storage of prohibited
weapons as follows:
* When any weapon is not actually being used or carried, it must be stored in a locked receptacle of a type approved
by the Commissioner and that is constructed of hard wood or steel and not easily penetrable, and
* If the receptacle weighs less than 150 kilograms when empty, it must be fixed in order to prevent its easy
removal.
* The locks of such a receptacle must be of solid metal and be of a type approved by the Commissioner.
Failure to meet these requirements is an offence carrying a fine of 20 penalty units, or imprisonment for 6 months or
both.
