We can get a judgement of scale when there is something to reference to. Once we get one cartridge correct, the rest become much easier since we now have a reference. At least have a reference for size like a 22lr in the pic.
Are you blind? There was a lighter right next to it.
Are you blind? There was a lighter right next to it.
You are aware that they make different sized lighters? Had I remembered while at work I was going to take a pick of a 7.62x39 round next to my current lighter.
bic lighters are.. bic lighters
But they have 2 popular sizes?
I mean I don't disagree but saying bic lighters are bic lighters is a bit disingenuous.
Well, I took the AR out today. Thing damn near fell to pieces on me. I don't think Ruger knows what the word staking means, and they'd clearly run out of loctite that day. Also, the buffer tube was too far back to effectively hold the buffer spring retainer in place, so the bastard popped out as I was chambering my 120th round. Thought the rifle was broken or some shit, but a little research allowed me to correct the problem. Only reason I was able to correct it was because, as I said before, nothing on this weapon is staked or has loctite, so I was able to unscrew the castle nut by hand. Also, the front sight post pins keep falling out during regular firing. Near as I can tell, the only thing holding them in is friction. I'm gonna pick up some blue loctite tomorrow, and start looking for someone who can stake the gas key. Other than all that, it cycles flawlessly. I just need to get back into the groove of shooting these things. The last time I shot an M16/AR15 was back in June, when my unit went to qualify, so of course my marksmanship is shit.
You should just send it back to Ruger. The pins falling out of the front sight post and the rest of your issues are just unacceptable.

All you're doing is peening over metal from the gas key into the screw heads. I'd Black Loctite the screws (doesn't matter if you "can't take it off", BCG's are cheap enough these days where the rebuild kits don't make much sense) and then stake it myself.
The shipping alone would be more expensive then new pins and loctite in my opinion.
Ruger is good about making their customers happy. They will send him a shipping label to cover the gun. All you have to do is contact them about your issue.

Generally most manufacturers won't send a shipping label unless the warranty work is coming from a dealer. I've dealt with them on a few occasions with new guns coming in out of time and such, they are very pleasant to work with.

That's a lot less serious than the pins falling out.
Blue loctite should fix it.
What's an alright cheapo Rimfire? My Category A license allows me to own one. Also, Download, and any other Aussies out there, how do you go about finding property to hunt on?
Lots of begging. How cheap do you want to be?
Lots of begging. How cheap do you want to be?
Range toy/good enough for small game hunting every now and then
That's not a number.
You can't own anything semi, so that leaves the Marlin XT-22, Ruger American .22, the Zastava Z5, and the Savage Lakefield Mk. II that I can think of in the "cheap" range for .22s.
A second hand CZ goes for about the same price as the Savage I think. [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] Wait, looking it up maybe not.
I wouldn't use it often enough to warrant a CZ 452, especially with me also looking to buy a ~2k clay shooting gun. $300-600 AUD. Like I said, a range toy that'll spend majority of its lifetime in a safe
Opinions on the Savage Axis as a budget scoped range rifle and potential very occasional hunting rifle?
Opinions on the Savage Axis as a budget scoped range rifle and potential very occasional hunting rifle?
Pretty solid budget rifle, don't bother with the optic packages though unless you get the Nikon. I'd rate the Ruger American a little higher just in terms of overall feel though.

Then you have a little more wiggle room for other stuff. Even their budget line of rifles is solid as fuck.
Finally got to shoot my handguns today. My Nagant was shooting left today. Given that previously it's shot high and low, I imagine next time it'll shoot to the right.
Picked up a FAL yesterday for a good price. In great shape too. It's metric, all parts are consistently metric, and the reciever is an imbel reciever. The bolt hold open needs to be replaced, and i'll replace the flash hider, but i'm a fan. Shoots pretty fucking nice too.
Nice! Another one joins the fold! You gonna stick with the poly stock or go to wood?
I've wanted a fal for decades but none ever come up for sale locally at the right time. I want to paint it up like the rhodies did
Pretty solid budget rifle, don't bother with the optic packages though unless you get the Nikon. Googled how the two pair and realized that they did.
I'd rather a G3 than an FAL personally
My dad wants a FAL because he carried one in the army. Unfortunately he can't buy one here.
well, will you use the shotgun enough to warrant using 2k on it?
Yes, every Wednesday and the occasional Saturday at the Clay Shooting Club.
Well... If you guys are ever down here you're more than welcome to play. .308 and 7.62 nato are somewhat expensive, so I'd expect you to pay for ammo and range fees of course, but you can play with rifu as much as you wanted.
Well where is down here :v:
