Ugh, gonna have to do ANOTHER safety training course because apparently doing one at a Clay Target Club, where they instructed us on how to handle rimfire and shotguns isn't good enough to get a Category B (centrefire n shit).

Should I be worried? I´ve fired around 1500 rounds so far.

Unless the actual rail piece goes missing? Don't sweat it. [editline]23rd March 2016[/editline] Wait, not sure I'm seeing what you're talking about.. Any way you could take a less, "bright" photo? maybe some more contrast?
Bought myself a 91/30 today, pics later this week
welcome to the cool [del]kids[/del] conscripts club
Bought myself a 91/30 today, pics later this week
once you take that first whiff of cosmoline, theres no going back
Bought myself a 91/30 today, pics later this week
I'm almost afraid to ask how much you paid for it, damn things are double what they used to be, and I just saw 1 440rd span can going for $144 on SGA Ammo.... Thanks Putin/Ukraine...

I figured it was really now or never because I had the cash on hand and I know they're only going to go up in price and get rarer.
I sent my Ruger in on Monday. Any idea when I can expect it back by?
I sent my Ruger in on Monday. Any idea when I can expect it back by?
A few weeks. You will usually be contacted about your gun within the first week, then a couple more weeks for the return. I'm surprised you didn't follow through with your loctite plan.
I have a hex receiver 1928 converted dragoon still in cosmoline in my closet that I paid $150 for that I will probably never clean and shoot because it's honestly an overrated rifle. Better yet, and I'm saying this because I know it'll piss at least one person in this thread off, I turned it from an all #'s matching rifle into a non matching by taking the buttplate off and putting it on a PU Sniper mosin so I could sell it. So now it has the rubber buttpad I had on the PU Sniper on it. Because I couldn't find the PU Mosin's buttplate. At some point in time I might buy a replacement metal buttplate off the internet but I don't really care. :v:
Alright so instead of the previously mentioned Savage Axis how about a Ruger American .308 with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9-50?
Alright so instead of the previously mentioned Savage Axis how about a Ruger American .308 with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9-50?
A pretty good budget hunting rifle. Mag is good too since you can load the up in 2 ways. You can slide the cartridge into the mag, or load it like an AR15 mag by pressing it in from the top. This also means you can top off the rifle without removing the mag from the gun. A 50mm bell is a bit excessive though. Try to find a 40mm.
Alright so instead of the previously mentioned Savage Axis how about a Ruger American .308 with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9-50?
I agree with lone star. A 50mm Objective is way big for what you'll probably do with the rifle, not to mention hinder your up/down MOA adjustment with how high the scope would have to sit to clear the objective.
Alright, I'm really not too familiar with scopes. I'll get the 40mm version of it then, it's $70 cheaper too.
Alright so instead of the previously mentioned Savage Axis how about a Ruger American .308 with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9-50?
Go for it. Ruger Americans are great rifles and Nikon Prostaff scopes are pretty good.
Alright so instead of the previously mentioned Savage Axis how about a Ruger American .308 with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9-50?
Don't buy Ruger. If you for some reason don't want a savage (???? literally the best rifles out there for the price), buy literally anything other than a Ruger.
Don't buy Ruger. If you for some reason don't want a savage (???? literally the best rifles out there for the price), buy literally anything other than a Ruger.
Why not Ruger?

Ruger > Savage all day every day [editline]24th March 2016[/editline]
Haha look at me I permanently altered an antique that went untouched for 80 years out of spite and it's cool because I don't care!!!
I didn't do it out of spite I did it because I couldn't sell the Sniper anyway, and sooner or later I'm probably going to put the mosin in a archangel stock. Besides it's not like I can't buy a new buttplate online, grind off the serial # and electropencil force match it to the rest of the gun. Or replace it with an unserialized buttplate. Because Russian factories never did that right?

No idea why I did this but I bought a golf ball launcher and 100 golf balls for my AR. Looking forward to getting arrested when the ATF decides they are illegal AOWs.
No idea why I did this but I bought a golf ball launcher and 100 golf balls for my AR. Looking forward to getting arrested when the ATF decides they are illegal AOWs.
Those you have nothing to worry about. The ATF would have a hard time justifying NFAing those going off of legal definition. There's actually a pretty good reason the X Products can launchers got NFA'd. They had a very short unrifled barrel with a large sleeve attached to the barrel nut. So when placed on a rifle it becomes and SBR, and when placed on a handgun it becomes a smooth bore pistol (AOW) Had they put shit rifling in the barrel they would be just fine to put on pistols. Had they welded the Launching tube to the barrel and made it at least 16" you could put it on a rifle. They'd need to do both to make it usable (in a legal sense) on both.
how much are even golf balls and m200 blanks in the US?
You can get used golf balls as low as $10 for a 5 gallon bucket full. 1000 blanks run around $300.
Don't buy Ruger. If you for some reason don't want a savage (???? literally the best rifles out there for the price), buy literally anything other than a Ruger.
I don't think they have anything on par with the Ruger Precision Rifle; their adjustable stock, detachable mag rifles are $1K more than the RPR and they don't take PMags.
Why not Ruger?
There's no substantiated reason, Cyke Lon Bee is very opinionated about his terrible uninformed opinions.
how much are even golf balls and m200 blanks in the US?
blanks could stand to be cheaper but golf balls are basically free
Took my Carbine out today. The electrical tape worked perfectly. No failure to feeds or failure to fires. One stovepipe which I'm cool with. It's a 70 year old gun at this point, hell it may have been the ammo I dunno, don't mind it. So I guess my magazine catch is worn out. In news that surprises no one my Kel Tec KSG is now experiencing another crippling malfunction. Now the shell stopper releases two shells with each pump with royally jacks the shotgun up. So I need a new shell stopper and probably some dummy rounds to just sit there and cycle, cycle, cycle until everything is fixed again. Than await my next malfunction.
