Got to shoot my K98 today, it shoots so far to the left it's not even on paper at 100. It took me 40 rounds to realize this...
Does anyone have a guide on how to adjust the sights on a Mauser?
[editline]27th March 2016[/editline]
It's about 3" left at 60m, so I'd guess it's about 6" left at 100m.
You'll have to drift the front sight over. Basically take a brass punch and hammer and tap it to the left to move it over. Sadly the only way to figure out if it's on is to be shooting while you do it. If you have a bore sight you can use that to get yourself to very close so as to not waste as much time while shooting.
Some of my big bore guns are inaccurate beyond help but it's still fun to burn ammo with them so I keep them around. I keep an eye out for guns with fucked bores being sold cheap cause some of them are just fun.

hearing "40 rounds of 8mm mauser" hurts my wallet
[editline]28th March 2016[/editline]
I still need to chop the barrel on my mauser and get some irons installed
why would you chop the barrel on your mauser
it's a bubba'd mauser I got for $100 that already had 2 inches chopped off, but the bore is in good shape and the stock is pretty comfortable so I want to do a small lightweight heavy hitter for carrying through thick brush and taking game with
oh, i guess the damage has already been done then
I figure the thing is never going to be historically significant again since the barrel has been chopped, the bolt doesn't match, and the original stock is long gone. so why not just take a gun that's basically just a generic hunting rifle at this point and make it something actually cool?
Yeah, still kinda hurts my heart to hear about.
Can anyone else find a 9mm CZ P09 Urban Grey Suppressor Ready for sale?
I know they're new, but they are listed in a bunch of places but not in stock; I can find plenty of P09s though.

My dad says he might have a c-clamp, which would probably be more precise, since trying to move something by like 0.01" with a punch is rather hard. I'll have to take off the sight shield though, fat lotta good it did stopping this from happening.

40 rounds I got for free (20 with the gun, 20 from my parents for Easter), another 40 I bought today for ~$67. I'll likely buy another 20 when we finally get some in at work, then get some reloading stuff when my tax return comes in.
Walking around my pond, I came across a water moccasin that noticed me. I turned to shoot it, and then realized I'm holding a Mosin Nagant and would probably lose my hearing... I think I'll start carrying the 380 instead.

They've been announced but I've yet to see them available. I ordered two back at a distributor show in January but I've got no idea when they'd be available. Long story short they are cataloged but no one actually has them. Even my CZ rep won't tell me when the will be.

Ear buds?

Hah! How ridiculous would it be for someone to carry earpro on them at all times? Amirite guys?
:worried:
I need too... It's a bad habit.

Should have taught that water moccasin to fear Stalin.

That's why I have a suppressor, the I don't have to remember them ever again.

YOU ARE CARRY AROUND GLORIOUS VINTOVKA MOSINA WITH BAYONET NO ATTACH? OFF TO GULAG!
You must always have bayonet attach to glorious rifle of motherland so when fascist pest animal is coming near and you fear firing rifle mean you never hear glorious song Katyusha again, you can yell "ZA STALINA!" and charge animal with sharpest screwdriver in all of USSR!

If you tried to blast that poor snake at close range with a Mosin, it would probably have died of shock either way :V
On a related note, I would really love to own and shoot some historical bolt action rifles. Those are probably the only interesting firearms from the world wars that you can own around here, my only problem would be storing them.
I don't think we have space in my shooting unions gun vault, and I don't have my own safe. Maybe I can persuade the chairman (that is seriously the correct title) to get to store one when I become rifle inspector in a month.

I got a call from the CMP today regarding my order. They finally reached my order which got there 2/8. Didn't yours get there at the same time? If so, you might be up to bat. Beware though, the service grades are backed up to hell so I ended up upgrading to a special grade and they are shipping it as we speak.

That's a large ball sack you have there...
How far does it launch them, 150yds?
250 supposedly. I can shoot live ammo through it too (with no golf balls in the way) so I'm gonna see what that does to the flash/sound. :v:

I wonder if it'll act like a linear comp at all...
I'm guessing it's gonna make the rounds tumble really, really badly.

I was actually going to post today. No word from them yet about my order, but I mailed everything on 2/8, so I might be a couple days behind yours. I don't know if I want to drop another $300 just yet to skip the wait.

Are safes prohibitively expensive in Denmark? They're pretty cheap in America. I can get a decent fireproof heavy duty rifle safe that'll hold 6-12 rifles for like $500. And that's retail.
A guy's just offered me a Century L1A1 for my MP-15 (the one I just got a golf ball launcher for). I've heard wildly varying reviews on these but I really, really want a FAL. What are your thoughts? What should I look out for?

If the receiver was made by Hesse/Vulcan Arms, avoid it like the plague.
I'll check all that with him. I'm probably not gonna buy it if it still has that weird thumbhole stock, but if it's all milspec I won't be able to help myself.
