It was a pretty obvious joke (and a good one, in my opinion), but thanks for pointing that out anyway.
They are delicious, so probably not.
Also, shit spoils if it ain't boiled.
No. They are meant to be eaten. Same with cows, pigs, chicken, etc.
They aren't that stupid. They're not stupid by any means. They're fairly intelligent for what they got to work with biologically.
Lobsters, crabs, prawns ect. are basically insects of the sea, and everyone knows how primitive their brains and neurological systems are. No one gives a shit about killing insects.
Crab fishing only works because of how stupid they are. They just grab on to the food on the end of line and keep holding on as they're being dragged up.
I'm in no doubt that pain and emotion are negligible to primitive creatures like lobsters and boiling them alive shouldn't be much of a concern
Plus they're tasty

Crab fishing is done with pots - metal cages with netting around the sides to prevent crabs from just waltzing in to get their free meal. The opening to commercial pots is on the top, so the crab figures it needs to climb up on top and get through the slot to get to the food. However, when it does, it falls down into the pot and can't climb back out.
It isn't a matter of them being absolute idiots ( which they pretty much are ), but rather that they figured out how to get in but can't make the climb back out.

What I meant was crabbing, like what loads of people do at the seaside. Maybe it's just a british thing
Relative to us, which is my chosen point of reference, they are stupid as fuck.
Trying to boost your ego by insulting shellfish is hilariously desperete

Nah. A lot of people catch crabs and crawdads using the string and bait method. Potting is used in commercial crabbing, since it would be inefficient to catch them with traditional means.
I have no problem with killing animals as long as the meat is eaten and not wasted. If they feel pain, they're going to feel it regardless of how you kill them.
enforcing any kind of act against it would be a bitch to do
