For those few of you who haven't played Dark Souls, if you manage your stats properly you shouldn't ever have to grind out levels to beat the game with the intended difficulty curve.

The problem is/was he's using a non-scaling weapon so he gets no benefit from pumping strength or dex. And because Pat is a fool he's not telling Woolie that the Drake sword isn't going to carry him to the end of the game so he's going to need to do that eventually.

Pat should've just pointed out that you can get the Drake sword there, but not given it to Woolie. He outright said it breaks the early game and this is Woolie's first time playing the game. Not only does it break the early game but now Woolie's stats are all fucked up, and there's no method of reallocating stats like in DS3.

I mean, Pat's dumb for letting Woolie go ez mode with the weapon, but he's totally told Woolie numerous times that the sword is a crutch that will be greatly outclassed at later levels.
Pat also way overestimated the importance of endurance, leveling health and damage (incl. weapon upgrades) in early game is much more important.
Endurance is the stat you dump points into after you've gotten everything for whatever build your doing.
