Man, I really hope the naruto game makes the guys read the mangas again, if only to finish it and go "wow that was fuckin DUMB." Because that's the amazement about Naruto- it's OVER. FINISHED. Sure, they're focusing on the kids now, but for all intents and purposes there is a point you can stop at and never have to care ever again. And that's amazing.
Anyway, on topic- there wasn't a second video yesterday on vessel, which makes sense because that's Metal Wolf Chaos day. Still, I'm wondering if they're still editing right now or something, because it didn't even show up "18 days ago" like the Old Hunters.

Naruto often reminds me of Harry Potter, in how its story is very 'protagonist finds out he's a special snowflake'. I think that's why I fell for it back then.
But did Naruto 'grow up' like Harry Potter did? Not saying the mature nature of the later Potter books was good (I think it was great in some parts, bad in others) but I'm genuinely curious if Naruto also made the transition from 'ha ha these plants are screaming' to 'EVERYONE IS DEAD AND RACISTS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE WORLD'.

Not really. He still acts like a huge dumbass all the time.
He has his serious dramatic scenes, like [sp]facing Pain after he kills Jariya[/sp] but the problem is that considering he never matured into a serious character, these scenes feel super out of place and character. In the end my biggest problem with it was that there were too many characters, not Bleach levels of too many (Jesus Christ) but still too many to focus a narrative on, and while many of these side characters were pretty cool, the worst three characters is the whole series happened to be our 3 main characters.

Is it a genetics thing or a 'family secret' thing? Because if it's the latter, I really can't see why people from outside the X clan can't learn a certain jutsu. You'd think, at one point, someone would have spilled the beans... on purpose, accidentally, under threat...

It's genetics as far as I remember from part 1. Hinata's Byakugan is a family trait in her clan, much like the Uchihas have the Sharingan and [sp]Pein had Sage of the Six Paths. The reason the war happened because Obito and Madara needed Pein's and Itachi's eyes to replace his since Madara's old and Obito/Tobi had one of his crushed. The clans united to prevent the predecessor of these special eyes from taking over the world.[/sp]

Mainly what other people said, but as far as other techniques go like how people from fire country have fireballs and people from water country turn into puddles, its literally a case of "nah thats your thing". While there are several bloodline techniques (Sharingan, thing where Sasukes eye goes red [sp]but kakashi has it because he got a sharingan eye transplanted what the fuck[/sp], the more basic specific techniques like the shadow shit, and the mind control stuff, are just because other family don't bother learning them.
