The fact that Pat said [sp]his grenade bugged when in reality he didn't bother to fucking check and see if it was going to actually hit anyone[/sp] is honestly a massive sign [sp]Actually looking back it probably should've hit the trooper but definitely not the sectoid[/sp]
i almost burst a blood vessel at that part i started my vessel free trial and episode 3 is in no way better, its fuckin' unbelievable how pat plays the shit out of the game while knowing barely anything about it that's what ya get for playing on normie mode with ironman off, commander ironman is like canon difficulty essentially
The time for more Best Freinds is now. Will commander Pat guide his soldiers to safety? [sp]Nope.[/sp]
Punished Carol Commander, I'm already a demon.
fuck I need to buy XCOM 2 now and see if Pat's johns are bullshit or if the game is really that wacked up on the harder difficulties. My money is on bullshit
I hope they never fix the XCOM typo
fuck I need to buy XCOM 2 now and see if Pat's johns are bullshit or if the game is really that wacked up on the harder difficulties. My money is on bullshit
Pat is working under pressure (because he's recording and has Liam and Woolie, who are also unexperienced, breathing down his neck) but he's also making some intense rookie mistakes. The timelimits are a big part of that. He had plenty of time for both missions in Ep 2. Notice how he's all "Well I don't know how much health that thing has!" despite the fact it has a healthbar and that damage pauses as soon as you're within range, since ayys will rather try to kill you than try to wreck the equipment. And how he starts bitching about the 12-turn limit in the second mission, but reaches the platform with five turns to spare. There's also a lot of basic stuff (running to flank into a position that's easily counter-flanked, worrying about flanked positions that he could clear up by having other soldiers kill a guy in the same turn, trusting 60% shots without having a backup plan, GRENADE OVERUSE) but it's all the sort of thing you learn while playing or watching Beaglerush videos. It's still entertaining, though, great LP.

While he is making mistakes, it is also bullshit, never doubt that.
What the FUCK is up with the first bit of the podcast. It's like woolie keeps walking five meters away from the microphone every other minute.
The only downside of the XCOM playthrough is that it'll probably be over soon, dunno about you guys but I'd totally watch a 100 part LP of Pat fucking up at every other step with Woolie commenting on it
What the FUCK is up with the first bit of the podcast. Idk why they don't just get clip-on mics, what with how important they are but hey.
Holy shit how terrible is it that I knew DS2 was their first HD video
When are they resuming FF?

It's a fun game to LP, and some wins to balance the losses would make it work.
I'm trying to not get mad at watching them play, because if anyone saw me playing an X-COM game they would think I'm an idiot too. Also, I love how Woolie is gradually getting more hyped
Wow that might be the worst recording of a podcast ever
Man I'm glad that I know so little about Xcom that I can't get mad at wrong things. I had my fill of the Zaibuttzoo silliness during DS2
I actually -didn't- watch Bloodborne because I got too angry at it i mean dont get me wrong i still love the zaibatsu, but for people with background in the industry why is it that Liam and Matt are the only competent gamers (aside from fighting games of course)
Wow that might be the worst recording of a podcast ever
At the very least Woolie apologized at the start- despite the underwater quality, I definitely laughed a whole lot during it.
Man I'm glad that I know so little about Xcom that I can't get mad at wrong things. I had my fill of the Zaibuttzoo silliness during DS2
The main thing Pat's doing wrong is positioning his soldiers, and I don't think you need to know anything about XCOM to see that, he's letting himself get flanked over and over again. That and a bit of grenade abuse, but I think he'll soon realize there are more important things to use grenades on than just single sectoids
Brennan you ok?
I honestly never care if they play poorly. It's never bothered me. I don't watch these guys for top-level plays, I watch them for the commentary.

This week's podcast audio may be crap, but the dialog is so good that I’m gonna get weird looks at work soon from all the snickering.
This week's podcast audio may be crap, but the dialog is so good that I’m gonna get weird looks at work soon from all the snickering.
I've had two moments during podcasts that have caused me to burst out laughing at a supermarket. The first oh which was "Theme of Rape horse", the second slips my mind right now, but it was definitely a Liam joke.
are the podcasts continuous? do they have a story or can i just jump in whenever i want to listen to one [editline]23rd February 2016[/editline] i don't know what a podcast is

Usually what they did that week, and then they cover the news.
