What the hell is up with Pat's theory about Ludleth? How did he make that crazy leap in logic?
well the only people we know in the souls universe have linked the fire are gwyn and the player character and since you have to kill gwyn in dks1 that kinda narrows that down
it's not true but it's not an impossible leap in logic

All of the lords of cinder have linked the fire before, that's the whole point. Yhorm, Aldritch, and the Abyss Watchers are all new, why can't Ludleth also be new?
Also, the DS1 protagonist is a create-a-character with no specified name, appearance, gender, or personality. I think that's enough to rule it out.
I was under the impression that the [sp]Final Boss/Soul of cinder[/sp] was the DS1 player-character. It makes sense because he [sp]doesn't have a specified identity and mostly uses souped up attacks that the in-game player character can acquire or use themselves[/sp] and would have been the most recent flame-linker.

You should read the description of the soul.

If he were the most recent to link the flame, there would be no lords of cinder.

sure, it's not true that ludleth is the player character, but it's still not a "crazy leap in logic"
i was just explaining how he came to that conclusion and it seems like an understandable one to make on the spot
[sp]Soul of the Lords.
One of the twisted souls, steeped in strength.
Use to acquire numerous souls, or transpose to extract it's true strength.
Since Lord Gwyn, the first Lord of Cinder, many exalted lords have linked the First Flame, and it is their very souls that have manifested themselves as defender of the flame.[/sp]
Maybe not the most recent, but I don't see why it couldn't be the DS1 player character
Maybe not the most recent, but I don't see why it couldn't be the DS1 player character
i believe the implication is that it's a fusion of all of the previous firelinkers
this thread is going to have a lot of complaining in the coming weeks

You could just as easily interpret [sp]manifestation of their souls[/sp] as all the souls the DS1 player collected to beat the game.
There are holes in this theory, but w/e

nope, because [sp]many exalted lords have linked the flame and their souls etc etc[/sp] specifies it as [sp]the souls of the lords that have linked the fire, whereas the DkS1 protag has only ever killed one firelinking lord[/sp]

Shit man let me live my dream bby
damn, i want to sign up for vessel to watch the other dark souls 3 videos but it won't accept my card
Saying ludleth is the dark souls player is like saying [sp]yorm was from dark souls 2[/sp] or solair was the suns firstborn. Its fun and ties things together even though theres no direct evidence saying it.
[sp]I still can't believe the first chest you see in the game is a fuckin mimic
I also can't believe Pat fell for it while woolie and matt screamed in delight[/sp]
[sp]4:55 They were able to avoid the big black thing coming out the dude because he backstabbed him before he transformed.[/sp]
Anyone else unable to watch videos on Vessel in 1080p? It's mildly irritating
DS3 has tons of references to DS2, it's just that things like place names or groups are kind of irrelevant because it was set so far away. And for all of DS2's focus on Vendrick and Aldia discovering the truth about souls they didn't actually do anything. The main story of DS2 was very thin on actual meat, and the stuff from the DLCs was barely relevant in DS2.
Aldia's goals kind of fit squarely into one of the possible endings of Dark Souls 3, though.
He's one of those characters that really needs to show up in the DLC, he's just got a lot going on.
Yeah, though I wish Aldia got a better treatment in DS2, his manor should be the coolest area in a DS game ever, but it turned into two shitty hallways
So Pat is mad at me, you guys. I dun goofed. I told him I wasn't feeling well and he was all, "Oh, should I come home faster?" And I was all, "Nah. Take your time." So he's on the bus when I send him the message, "OMG HURRY HURRY!!!" He runs off, into traffic, and bursts through the door. He runs through the door screaming "PAIGE! PAIGE! ARE YOU OK?!" Me: "OH MY GOD! BABE! There's a new Red Letter Media! Yay!"
In short, Pat is sweating and crying and not talking to me for the rest of the evening.. but there's a new RLM on! YAYYYY! #worthit

Paige is the best.
Plus the idea of little pat panicking and sprinting through people makes me laugh.
Props to Pat for being a good boyfriend at least :v:

Not to mention his boss fight (which happens for no reason) is the worst, least interesting fight in the game.
looks like somebody wants to be on best of the worst, guess madoxx isn't enough for her. :P

[sp]I was so fucking happy when he opened the door near the dragon and I remembered what was there.
Then really sad when I realized it would be surrounded by messages and bloodstains.
Then fucking ecstatic when Pat fucking ignored them and opened it anyways.[/sp]

I had no idea the "official" date was noon on a tuesday- I just assumed it was late monday and that it just happened to show up at midnight. Wonder what happened.
In better (surprisingly relevant) news, the ending to this Mirror's Edge parkour video was fantastic.

vessel dark souls 3 spoilers
[sp]it's upsetting that pat went to the firelink tower early and didn't get trapped by patches. hopefully he'll meet him in the cathedral[/sp]
Pat grinded a 100k souls from the mobs in highwall
