The Charge is super misleading and I made that mistake too. There is no indication that there should be another level.

Maybe it was my familiarity to [sp]Demon's Souls[/sp] and learning the new mechanics, it was easy for me to see it was a charging Weapon Art in one go before dying twice. Seeing it on video that wasn't DSP made it hurt. :cry:
Plus I made the mistake in [sp]going into the Dungeon first and ruining both Siegward's and Greirat's quests[/sp] so I fubar'd the game too.

[sp]If it helps, there are no bonus goodies from letting Siegward live until Yhorm is defeated- with his quest completed, Siegward of Catarina dies at the campfire, letting you grab the items off his body. Basically, it ended the same way they did, except he died in battle rather than outside of it.[/sp]
With all this yelling at Past Pat they oughta figure out a way to develop a stand specifically like King Crimson except it changes past mistakes in their LPs before getting called out on them

Perhaps [sp]lorewise he would have wanted to die at Yhrom's hands knowing that you are coming along to finish the job. He was the combination of the best Dark Souls NPCs in the trilogy and to see him go down like that was brutal and depressing.[/sp]

First of all, don't be a cock.
Second of all, how is this painful in any remote way, so what, he needed time to learn the weapon, so did most people who played the game.
And third, i'm pretty sure the command "Hold R2 and then hit it again" is incorrect anyway, and if it isn't then thats fucking dumb way to use it considering no other weapons do that.
the dark souls 3 [sp]storm ruler[/sp] works by holding the weapon arts button (L2 or LT) until it charges and then, while still holding the button, you press either of the attack buttons to do the attack
i had to look it up too since it worked so differently in demon's souls, never could've guessed you have to charge it since there's no other weapon art in the game that requires charging, as far as i know
When you get down to it, you can just write off Yhorm as a bad boss fight. The entire fight relies on a gimmicky mechanic that isn't explained well at all and is just a needless callback to Demon's Souls. Now if he were a normal boss like the[sp]Ancient Wyvern[/sp]or the Deacons then maybe the gimmick wouldn't be so bad. But the fact that he's suppose to be one of the main bosses of the game and you don't fight him proper like all the other LoC makes it one of the disappointing moments of DaS3.
Also the tease of him[sp]being a DaS2 giant and then not actually being one[/sp] was also kind of ass, imo.

the biggest problem with Yhorm is that Demon's did it better 7 years ago and that's just awful
the profaned capital in general seems like a bit of an afterthought, though still not as much as the smouldering lake
I hated how short the Profaned Capital was, and iirc there isn't much of a reason to explore the areas that don't lead to Yhorm unless you're doing Seigward's questline or want the hand full of items that are actually worth getting in the area.
