Save for the especially terrible city chapters the whole game is actually pretty fun to play and holds up fairly well, in my honest opinion.
It's got a weird identity of its own and it's hard to mistake it for anything else.

as someone who is currently playing through the series and just beat yakuza 2, i understand why they wont
these games are a blast to play yourself and i really wish they sold better in the west
yakuza 0 is getting a western release in january though, so they might at least do something with it
I think the reason why they lp'd 4 was becasue Pat knew a lot about the game, making it wasier to playthrough and show the cool stuff. Since 5 is (mostly) new, it would probabaly not be as safe to lp compared to 4.

Seriously though, I doubt Matt throws his power around that much- they all consolidate on ideas and the best things to do and whatnot, the only time we hear "Matt had to do something cause he's the business leader" is when he has to do taxes and meetings. I'm probably forgetting some big thing, but in the end its not as big a deal as one may think.

I listen to old podcasts a lot because of my data entry job. They say some REALLY stupid shit in those older episodes. The whole bit about Ryuko in Kill La Kill being "Girl Kamina" was super frustrating to listen to.
There was that one podcast where they got an email telling them how they guessed wrong on WoW going F2P (or something like that) within a year on an earlier podcast.

I haven't been following Nier, Catherine or Jojo but Disaster Report is the best LP they've had in a while, even if my only point of reference is the disgustingly low-energy Inside playthrough. DR Ep 3 had me in stitches, I can't wait for a Day of Crisis livestream.

Some games you gotta just chill, ya know? Personally I thought that whole whisper Lp was great.
Seriously though, DR is one of the better LPs. Jojo is okay (Woolie and Pat talk more about general jojo stuff than the actual game), Nier is damn good (Pat extremely curious about the interesting story and Liam trying not to spoil anything, also muffin wars), and Catherine is pretty damn great (Matt reacting to this weird game as he and Woolie talk about relationship shit).

From what I understand it got snubbed due to a bad fishing tutorial at the start, a lack of good combat, and it being so long that reviewers and players alike went "welp, I think I get the gist of this." Really unfortunate, but at least we're getting a sequel.

I think when the game came out I was still stupid and listened to review sites. Glad to hear they've got platinum working on the next one.
