u giving up the force?

Take a look at glassdoor for the company it's for, you'll usually get a few tip offs with regards to it. The pay for Store Manager is ridiculously good, like almost double that of rival stores. I've heard it has a lousy work / life balance with shift work but mine's already abysmal so can't see how it can be any worse. At least I won't be expected to stay 12 extra hours on duty because of bureaucracy, or get my face stoved in by angry drunks. Considering it. I'm not getting my hopes up about getting the job because I've no retail management experience. If I did get the job, I would probably join my local force as a Special Constable seeing as I'd have an entire skill set going to waste.

Would love some insight on how you could get into the police force. It's something I'm seriously considering but don't know where to start.

Hah, I used to work in retail management (department level, not store) for a kinda-major UK chain, I wouldn't underestimate the stress of it. We went through 3 store managers in a year after our original boss left to open another branch. Got no knowledge of how Aldi operate though, so if they have a decent training scheme/support network and your regional managers not a knobend, you'll probably be okay.

I started off volunteering as a Special Constable, it's a good way to get your foot in the door and see if the job is for you. Have a look at your local force's website, they probably have regular Special Constable recruitment. Don't hesitate to DM me on Discord and I'll give you some tips and pointers on how to fill out your application and stuff I wouldn't say I'm looking for a job that's stress free, you've got to have the bad to appreciate the good. A little bit of pressure is a good thing for me as well, it's when I work at my best. I wouldn't mind an insight into the day to day / politics / basic operation of the supermarket though. My only retail experience was TESCO and that was a good decade or so ago.
