I'm constantly amazed that radio is still a thing but at the same time I wonder just why it's not used to its fullest in the age of social media where people are living connected to others. Like, what if anyone could easily broadcast themselves and recieve the broadcasts of other with equipment cheaper than a fancy resaurant meal. Completely cut out any corperate censorship or ratings targets and have a community that's entirely community-driven and easily sustained.
Podcasts but with a stupidly low barrier of entry to create or listen to.
I hate how my brain works. I've got this year to get through, and two more, and I'll graduate with an MEng. I know for a fact that I've been dealt some real lucky cards in life, and I've all but got a guaranteed job offer when I graduate, with cushy, above-average starting salary.
But no matter how many times I tell myself to just "get through this shit for the next few years and you'll be happier at the end of it" I just can't sit down and study something I absolutely hate. I can't change course, I'm stuck doing this, and if I bail out, I'll have an insane amount of debt. I'm one of those lazy fuckers who are smart, and I know if I put effort into my studies, I'd ace shit. But it's putting effort into it that I find so difficult. I leave everything last minute and nab high 60%'s, then I cram for exams during breaks and scrape a pass.
But if I want to graduate and get this job, I need at least a first, or a 2:1. I wish there was a way to just override my brain and robotically get through these next few years. It also doesn't help that I'm always so tired every day. I'll wake up, neck a huge coffee, and still feel tired in my bones. Like that tiredness you have right after waking up, except it doesn't go. Docs just tell me it's stress, and all my bloodwork and stuff looks good. So I dunno what it is. I legit don't have energy to do anything, except on the rare days where I'm really energetic.

Licensing fees of broadcasting music without a license is absurdly pricey and changes from publisher to publisher.
Not broadcasting music and just going the talky-route you also have to go through OFCOM and apply for a broadcasting license.
This was actually a thing in the 60s, called pirate radio - they would sit in international waters off the coast of the UK and broadcast to people through that.

I was also assuming that we'd do away with broadcasting licenses, making the airwaves truely free for all expression from the large groups to attic-dwellers wanting to share their thoughts on their niche hobbies. And is that for broadcasting any music, even something you yourself made?

I still drink coffee so take this how you will but when I stop/cut back my energy levels increase. Also I feel you, I just want my degree now and to go work in industry but instead I just spent 6 hours in labs doing fault testing and making an inverted pendulum stand up (managed to bullshit my way to full marks though so ). I guess the secret to grinding through is just doing it. I used to be able to and the only difference is that I used to just make myself and it came down to winning that battle with myself. I need that back.
So I already know that the FBI has a file on me, and now I know for sure that the government has files on me because I just ordered some badges from the CND. If the nukes ever get launched, I'm one of the people they'll round up as a "subversive" before the exchange occurs.
You got yourself in a good place there buddy, I'm on some lists but not those ones.
I'd likes to see what's on my FBI file, "harmless idiot" I imagine

I donated £3 to Unicef for blankets after seeing the ad and joking that I need a blanket myself and then feeling bad about it.
But they won't stop calling me now, at really shit times. 8 o'clock last night, when I was driving this morning, when I'm at work.
2 questions, is everyone charging 1.10 for 4 pints of milk now or just tesco?
also if the payment fails on my sim only contract can i still receive calls/txt? i wouldnt be upset if it did but i would need to move some 2fa to an app rather than sms

I end up paying £1.45 for milk from the Co-op cause its a 2 minute walk away. Convenience charge really.
But it's £1.10 in Sainsburys as well, but thats because they pay farmers more per pint than any other supermarket.
He's sorta right. You're not meant to gargle pure vinegar, you're meant to dilute it with water and gargle that.
Same works if you gargle salt water. But fuck doing both of those, I just drink hot water with honey and lemon in it. Helps make your throat feel less like a chainsaw.
Why not all four, it's what I do. Tastes like dog's arsehole but preferable to sore throat

i might check asda tomorrow but even if its still a pound ill probably end up paying the extra 10p because tesco is closer
I think 4 pints of milk is either just over a quid, and less than 1.10.
I know this cos I tried that BOB milk (cos my missus insists on red top, yeah white water etc) and that cost 1.09 and was a bit more expensive
[editline]28th November 2017[/editline]
I'd be rubbish as a politician, if they asked how much a pint of milk is. One of those things you need so you just buy without really paying attention to the prices
[editline]28th November 2017[/editline]
I'd have no issue paying more for milk, I'm pretty sure farmers lose money on it without subsidies
u don't have to know how much the pint of milk is, you just have to know how to dodge the question
milk is dirt fucking cheap
What are you all talking about? Milk was murdered by millennials several years ago. There was nothing you could have done. It's time to move on...
Hazelnut milk is far better anyways.
this convo about the price of milk has made me realise how upper middle class i am. i've never once worried or thought about the price of milk.
i just buy shit and then pay the higher than expected bill, despite the fact i originally only went in to get some bread, milk and eggs.
Got my referencing approved for my new flat mateys!! Oh yes!! (does a really stupid gay dance that pisses you off)

my life is going to the till at tesco and going "ah fuck me, £8 again on fuck all" many times a week

I think it's to support local farmers, it's a big extra bit of cash though considering how often I buy milk.
My shopping budget has increasd ever since I bought free range organic eggs from Sainsburys. Expensive compared to other eggs but worth the price considering the quality and taste.
i don't bother getting organic tbh, I just go for free range when it comes to chicken related stuff. would rather know the chicken had space to run about and wasn't cramped in a cage. not too fussed about what it ate, and afaik, non-organic doesn't automatically mean it's pumped full of antibiotics, it just means the chicken is fed normal grain as opposed to organic grain.
are any of you cretins going to insomnia in april?
my life is going to the till at tesco and going "ah fuck me, £8 again on fuck all" many times a week
Tesco is a total rip off. They hike the price up and then give the normal price back to you as a 'sale'. All their multibuys are shite scams. Morrie's is better but really it's all bout Aldi m8
it's pretty depressing going to Tesco, buying food for the week then your card getting rejected. I had to live on ham sandwiches with tesco value bread last week despite being gluten free. glad i knick toilet paper from work to say the least.
That being said i went for smoked salmon, fancy flatbread and organic lemon & chive humous this week.
last flat was 2 minutes away from a sainsburys and the next one is even closer to tesco express, convenience always gets the best of me and my wallet

The amount of walking space a chicken needs to be regarded as free-range is like A4 paper sized.
The amount of walking space a chicken needs to be regarded as free-range is like A4 paper sized.
Free range requires four square metres of space PER chicken.
You might be thinking of Barn eggs, which have more space than Caged hens, but it's still inside and barely any space.

this isn't true.
[editline]29th November 2017[/editline]
free range requirements aren't something a producer can just half-arse. you can't let a chicken out for 30 minutes every 24h period in a tiny little space and slap on a "free range" label. i'm pretty sure the standards are upheld rigorously.
