work got cancelled today cause of the snow which means i get a whole 3 days off this december instead of 2 now :cool:

So glad I've got one more week of work to go before I get 2 weeks off for Christmas. Coming back to work on the 2nd Jan is gonna suck big time. Oh, and the worst part is that I've got one massive cutting job at work to do but I haven't officially accepted it so I'm gonna try and find an alternative. Basically I gotta bandsaw 40 MDF sheets into 320 sections and laser cut them into components.

here in Bath we've got snow but it won't settle might as well be frost

Lovely and snowy in Essex, watched a guy spinning in the centre of the road for 10 minutes before rolling up the road to get stuck on the next corner. Nobody around to build a snowman with though, and doing it alone feels like Christmas sacrilege.

But I didn't drive anywhere today, will see what it's like tomorrow and Tuesday. Edit: For reference I was getting 238 Wh/mile in the summer.

So I have been planning my way into work for tomorrow on foot as I haven't dropped my motorbike yet since I bought it brand new seven months ago and there is snow everywhere. I'm willing to ride in anything but snow and 45+ mph winds. The head (I'm an IT technician for a school) just emailed everyone saying we are closed for Monday. WOOP WOOP day off work :joy: !!!

I run the IT for a law firm though, so my boss called me and asked me if I could setup VPNs for people if they can't get to the office :disgust:

It generally takes a few days for county to do their part so we already have everyone ready to go at all times that needs it. So thankfully that isn't a concern for me.

Many loved this though as it gave them an excuse to get another days work in on something they left to the last minute.

had the boiler shit itself this morning and the condenser pipe was blocked with ice because whoever installed it thought a bare plastic pipe on the side of the flat was a good idea. poured some hot water into the gutter it drains into and it seemed to clear it up a bit, had a nice hot bath and got the heating on full pelt for a bit. i also got this EXCELLENT fuel economy last night - it's usually in the low 40s!
