Saw this on my FB feed. It's fabulous, I long to be in Maggiez Matez.
one month into my new policy, I got a new car and they still hit me with the £20 admin fee for changing shit, which kinda sucks
I stopped driving for a year and a half which wiped out my 8 year no claims bonus. :v: I only did it to save a bit of money, plus it forced me to walk everywhere so I lost a good chunk of weight. It's going to be March before my insurance costs go down again.
if i ever stop driving for long enough to lose my no claims bonus, I'm gonna buy some beat up old piece of shit for next to nothing and just insure that.
My premium went down by £50 this year . Insurance is completely retarded in this country. I got insured on my dad's Z4 for a week for £7 which works out as 50p cheaper p/w than a 2002 Citroen Dispatch :v:.
so extortionate you gotta base what car you can get on the insurance premium as opposed to the actual cost of the car

Insurance companies continue to amaze me.
My insurance for a 1.4 Peugeot 206 went down from £1280.68, to £779.46 a year. I would love to buy another car, but literally anything more than a 1.4 costs the fucken earth
how much are you guys paying on your annual premiums, just out of curiosity? I was paying £1800 my first year, £1700 my 2nd, £1500 my 3rd and am now paying £1000 a year or something. all thanks to no claims bonus. made me shit a brick when my aunt told me she was paying like £400 a year for a massive brand spanking new land rover.
Ours is just over a grand a year, that's for two cars, I'm the main on one, girlfriends on the main on the other. My insurance cost alot until I was 25, then it basically halved

[editline]3rd September 2017[/editline] I need to buy less cars
what cars you guys got?
Knackered 02 plate Focus 2l [editline]3rd September 2017[/editline] Girlfriend's car is some dull Toyota Anonymous
I very briefly had a Volkswagen Golf but not had a car for ages. Everyone here bikes anyway.
who wants to get drunk
who wants to get drunk
already am
If you never learn to drive, you are never the designated driver its dope
already am
friend told me it'd be a good idea to drink tonight and play videogames. he bounced an hour into it. i reached a pretty decent level of not sober in that one hour. went and watched some tv and drank some more and now i'm regretting it cause i'm gonna be hungover, and i legit can't deal with how shite hangovers are.
Hyundai Ioniq atm which seems to be cheap all round to insure and run. Couldn't be happier with it. First car was a kia pro c'eed which was fairly cheap to insure relative to its engine size and age. Next was an Alfa Romeo Brera S 3.2L which only cost £750 to insure at 20! Really shows how much statistics affect cost. The jag xrks was 1.3k to insure initially but dropped to 1k the following year which tbh was cheap again for what it was due to statistics. Only Admiral would insure me though 路•♀️ Just find what cars most people your age don't own like Kia, Volvo, Saab, infiniti, Lexus (ct200h is p decent). Will cost a bit more initially but should pay for itself
i always wanna put an excess down of £500 cause i'm a pretty good driver, but i always chicken out cause if i were ever in an accident, it'd suck major dick having to pay £500 towards it. i always settle at £250, then after my policy expires i feel bad for not going with £500. that 3.2l alfa romeo looks fucking brilliant, and at £750 that's a steal. for a vw golf 1.6l it's costing me a shit tonne and im 24, it's ridiculous.

All on an 08 1.6 petrol focus (no existing no claims prior to this) But I pay nearly 2k on my bike for a variety of reasons.
is bike insurance brutal? was thinking of getting a ducati either this year or next year, but have no idea what insurance is like on bikes like that
is bike insurance brutal? was thinking of getting a ducati either this year or next year, but have no idea what insurance is like on bikes like that
Depends what you buy, but my heart was set on a brand new top of the range Triumph Bonneville, so I knew I was going to be paying out the ass for literally everything anyway and didn't care. It's a 1200cc bike, it has an unsurprising amount of power, it's my first bike, I wanted the insurance to cover carrying a passenger, I've only passed my test within the last year and weirdly, the worst of all it lives in a secure locked compound and therefore because it isn't in a shitty garage at my house its £2k rather than £1k, a lot of people told me to save the grand and let the insurance buy me a new one when it inevitably gets pinched from my shitty garage but I love it too much for that. If you bought a second hand, slightly cheaper, smaller bike say the 700ish ducati monster, kept it in a locked garage where you live, put a couple of decent locks on it, it'd be much cheaper than a car.
what cars you guys got?
Toyota Aygo 2011 (Blue). I think the insurance is also based on car that young people buy. Your insurance will be more expensive in a 1.2 Ford Fiesta than some other peugeot for example.
My insurance is 2k. But statistics for your 1st year driving 22 years old are odd. Couldn't get it lower than 2k for any car, so it was the same price to insure a 2 litre focus and a 1 litre corsa. So went with the focus. Changing my age to 18 out of curiosity, there was no chance of getting insured with the focus. [editline]4th September 2017[/editline] Girlfriend is buying my car in the next month hopefully when she passes her test. I'm getting a honda civic 2.2 diesel, save 50 quid a month on fuel and costs 120 on finance should work out pretty well!
If you never learn to drive, you are never the designated driver its dope
Problem is I actually like driving (want to get into track day racing some day) so it's both a gift and a curse.
I just looked up motorbike insurance for a Suzuki GS500, I cried a little. £523/pm for my current situation, drops significantly if I change to a UK license but I can't change for 185 days.
I've got a 2012 BMW 330d Touring and I pay £1600ish for my insurance, I'm 24. Hoping it goes down significantly next year.
The last Co-op sandwich I bought made me want to chunder.
You take that back :v: Co-op meal deal best meal deal [editline]4th September 2017[/editline] 5 days late, whoops
feel like i'm the unluckiest scrote. legitimately can't drink much without spending the next day puking my guts out. didn't even drink that much either, had about 4 gin + lemonades (double shot in each) and didn't even get drunk cause i drank over 6 hours. the minute we invent a hangover-less alcohol, I'm gonna be happy
