I used to drink a lot more coffee at uni but now I drink it for the flavour instead of drinking it for the caffeine. At work I tend to have tea but I leave the bag in for a good 5 minutes before drinking it. Gotta get me some bitter tannin.
i've reached a stage of coffee addiction where drinking it no longer gives me any of the effects (other than letting me revert to being a normal person for the day) and not drinking it leaves me feeling like a zombie with a killer headache. to get a coffee buzz, i need to drink to the point where i get a bunch of anxiety alongside the energy, which is never worth it. i wanna quit this and have loads of energy naturally, but coffee is a cruel bitch of a mistress, and she ain't done with me just yet. plus, i can't even imagine what i'd do with my time at uni during a lunch break, grabbing coffee is a tradition i'll pass down to my children.
That sounds quite unpleasant really, I would try and cut down on coffee gradually to try and get rid of your reliance on caffeine.

tbf it's nasty stuff if you decide to quit cold turkey. but if I wanted to stop, it's pretty easy. right now I go for one or two scoops of coffee grounds (depending on how much caffeine I want on that particular day). maintenance for me is one scoop, though I can survive on one or two cups of tea easily if I have no coffee. if I decide today that I wanna quit, it's literally as easy as using 3/4 scoop for 4 days, then 1/2 for another 4, and then 1/4. I can kick the habit within 2 weeks easily, and that's the smooth sailing route. I could do it within a week no problem if I just halved intake. I don't wanna quit though cause I really enjoy coffee and even though I no longer feel the effects of caffeine, I feel enough of a jolt to look forward to it every morning. I've quit cold turkey in the past, worst that happens is you have an absolutely atrocious migraine like you're hungover or have the flu. but if you soldier through it, you start feeling fine after about 4 days. that's about as bad as withdrawals get, though I've heard people say they get anxiety. when I was 18 and stopped cold turkey, I just thought I'd gotten the flu from someone and was dehydrated. now I realise it was caffeine withdrawals, but it was pretty piss easy to soldier through if you're not a baby.
I almost never drink hot drinks. Tea and Coffee have never really had any appeal to me. Only hot drink I ever have is hot chocolate but even then I only drink it 2-3 times a year or not at all.
I've never not drank tea or coffee so I probably don't even notice what it does to me

Drinking something that tastes like coffee without having the caffeine usually helps if you're trying to quit it.
nah man, if i quit caffeine, i want it to hurt. i want it to be like a rough breakup, so a few weeks down the line when i start drinking it again, it'll feel good to be back in the abusive relationship. it's sorta like giving myself stockholm syndrome, keeps things interesting also, don't start watching Limmy clips on youtube. it'll suck up your time and before you know it, you're still sat in your pyjamas watching Limmy get spat on or knocking a homeless man out, when you were meant to be out doing stuff 3 hours ago.

Just like people that think dieting is suddenly cutting down to eating nothing but salads 24/7 and end up utterly miserable and give up after a week. If you make it harder than it needs to be then you'll never get better.
rainbowstalin i don't actually wanna quit, cheers for the advice though. i've just been taking the piss about coffee but i love it and i'm totally okay with being hooked on it. i'll probs take a break from it eventually just to see how things go, but right now i'm okay being a filthy addict. -i've strapped my arm tight and am injecting coffee intravenously as i type this-
I'm about to head off to spend new years with the family, so I'll say it now. Wishing you guys a happy new year 2018 Hopefully it'll be a peaceful year and may you all stay in happiness and good health. Cheers.
Was going to ask, what is everyone doing for New Year's Eve? I know it sounds a bit shite but I'm gonna make myself a cherry moonshine + coke, go to bed, pop my headphones in, listen to some music and welcome 2018 in peacefully. Whatever you do, hope you enjoy it and stay safe if you're out and about this evening.
Watch the fireworks on BBC with some hot chocolate and crisps probably.
Well I was going to have some friends over but one cancelled so they all cancelled. I'm eating a pizza, drinking drinks meant for 3 people. Start as you mean to go on right?
Doing shots on my own and continuing to drunkenly graffiti my walls with a Sharpie.
