i only just got on universal credit last week, so they're having me come in every few days to do shit
Mine started like that, but after a lot of updates I put on there I've since never been asked back in. Maybe explain to your job coach that you prefer that system and find it more convenient to update via it rather in person, or at least once a month.
I wanna do summer work but I'm legit worried I'll turn up to my first day and the employers realise I'm 1) retarded and 2) utterly shite at engineering
I would highly recommend doing some to be in with an actual chance of getting a reasonable job when graduating (we're all retarded and bad, some of us are just better at muddling through it than others)
I would highly recommend doing some to be in with an actual chance of getting a reasonable job when graduating (we're all retarded and bad, some of us are just better at muddling through it than others)
my main worry is that they'd expect more from a 2nd year engineering student than what I'm capable of. I'm barely muddling through my course, and I'd feel like I was wasting the employers time if I turned up and wasn't able to handle the basic tasks they issued, or taking the slot from a student who was more capable.

A lot of people do a lot better in a workplace than in uni, and you're probably better at stuff than you think. Over summer I was completely out of my depth a lot of the time, but that kinda comes with engineering jobs as a whole. You'll figure it out and as metallics said, it'll help you secure a good job afterwards.
shit didn't realise the flu was actually going about everywhere was pretty much bed ridden a couple days after christmas day itself, shit was bad much better now but holy hell that made the christmas break ein bisschen shit new years was interesting, went to a flat party where a bunch of folk had actually brought in proper pioneer decks and were DJing till the early hours. Attempted to network through them, but was pretty mwi so probably came across as a pain in the dick. Probably not for the worst, as the music they were playing ( despite frequently playing at one of the main clubs in the city) could only be described as disco demos from the 70s on loop for 7 minutes at a time

Quite simply what I've been doing all this time is writing: "Searched online for jobs and employment opportunities, spent x hours looking Applied for x jobs Found x opportunities" And that's been enough.

The majority of engineering firms that take interns will have a very good idea of what people are capable of at various points through uni and if you can't do what they ask, get help and learn because that's precisely what you'll have to do once you've got a job. I don't know where you intend to work after uni but any major engineering firm I can think of considers work experience of some sort almost essential for a graduate position - you will be shooting yourself in the foot if you dont go for it. between now and summer I'll brush up on basic stuff and apply for a summer position through uni, hopefully I'll be at a stage where I can manage most stuff and if not, I'll just figure it out as I go along
real talk, how the fuck are my uni mates affording long holidays in places like Spain / Thailand / Germany etc they'll fuck off for a 2 week holiday and I'm scratching my head wondering how they afford it. every time I ask mates if they're up for a holiday, they can't afford it, or wanna go do wank stuff like Ibiza or go abroad just to get hammered 90% of the time. I wanna get out of the UK for a week once my exams are over and just chill someplace sunny, but I legit don't know how people afford long holidays without breaking the bank. I'd love to stay at a hostel but doing it solo seems weird, would be way better if I had a mate so we could book a private 2-bed in a hostel and save loadsa money
My holidays consist of a bottle of Stolichnaya and hiding the razorblades, so I'm not even sure on this myself. My colleagues keep going to Florida and shit like that and I'm like what the fuck how do you afford that on this salary? [editline]8th January 2018[/editline]
man fuck going to the job centre is about as depressing and demotivating as when i got my gcse results in 2015 and enrolled at college only to find i couldn't do 3 of the 4 things i wanted to do
Walking through the Job Centre doors with my stepfather during the economic crash is one of the worst memories I've got.
Nothing pains me or frustrates me more than having to deal with the steaming mess that is HMRC tax payments and their god awful website.

dunno what the fuck is up with my tesco superstore, but it's seriously dropped in quality recently. started off with seeing bags of rotting veg / herbs once every few weeks, but over time it has gotten to the point where I can't shop there without spotting tonnes of stuff rotting. either onions rotting in their packaging, or herbs turned to mush and spilling liquid everywhere. I bought some sweet potatoes and parsnips that I thoroughly checked, and this was 2 days ago. checked em today and they're practically falling apart. it's like the store stocks shit right on the brink of rotting.

It's just a bad fruit and veg manager, they will get rid of him or her eventually. Sadly it's not as easy to fire a bad manager as it is to fire a bad lower-level employee.
This is my 5th day without my sense of taste or smell, and I'm really starting to worry now. I now go to my local greengrocers which is actually very good value for money. The last straw was buying potatoes for jacket potatoes, and piercing them before cooking to release the most overpowering smell of rot, which then filled the whole flat for about 2 days even though I took it straight outside to the bin.
If you've got to do a self assessment, it's probably the most complicated thing in the world.
Sign up for an account to have to receive a confirmation code by post to use it to access that account to then request a UTR by post so you can then start to do the paperwork. It would honestly have been easier if I didn't even do it. I owe £350 in national insurance and I don't even live there any more.
Tesco is a bit overpriced IMO anyway, and a lot of there managers are arseholes from when i was a cleaner there, prefer lidl, aldi home bargains etc. Can still remember kwik save and woolworths.
asdas my go to, can do a weeks shopping on £20 if I need to, Tesco always seemed more pricey since i became a student, the deals arent deals and most stuff I need always seems to go up Sainsbury's usually for quick shopping since its literally down the road, I would start going to lidl/aldi but its a fucking trek in Southampton.
i've made it my new years res to stop shopping at waitrose
I've tried to begin staying away from Asda because of its association with Walmart but it's got the best location in town.
fuck morals man asda's the best supermarket back in aberdeen i used to live round the corner from a 24/7 asda with two floors, a mcdonalds and a cafe. miss that place so much, used to spend a lot of time as a kid just being an annoying twat hanging out in the upstairs bit after eating maccas with my buds
ASDA has one of the lowest minimum spends on online shopping, pretty much the only reason I use them.
keep your receipts go in and complain, whoever is stock manager of that place is doing a terrible job, especially with fruit and veg
i'll call customer complaints or something, easier to do it anonymously and I can just point blank tell them to check their veg aisle and they'll see at least 5 rotting stuff easily. [editline]9th January 2018[/editline]
It's a case of Christmas backlog combined with poor management.
this has been ongoing well before christmas. started around october.
We can all agree Sainsbury's is utter shite though lads
sainsburys is the only big shop near me and it fucking sucks, everything is overpriced and all their own brand food tastes like shit vs tesco
Sainsburys ruined their meal deal
