Felt it here in Stoke. This place is a mess, buildings crumbling, no human beings in sight. Then there was an earthquake
She expects complete silence whilst living in a block of badly soundproofed flats. Any noise from any of the 6 flats in the building has to be blamed on us, her upstairs neighbours. The other night I opened my sock drawer to get some socks because ya know, cold feet, to have her scream "FUCKING SHUT UP" and hit the ceiling. I just want to repeat that this is the reaction to me opening a drawer in my bedroom.

Unfortunately each flat is owned by a different private landlord.
Oh man... Get something that makes sound, put somewhere away from your flat, like an alarm clock hidden somewhere, and just let it tick, and ring, and make her go crazy. It's after all not your problem, if the sound comes from somewhere else, and they might realize that either she have to go, or they gotta soundproof it better. Because you aren't screwing up your landlord at all by doing this. But again, might be risky anyway. I would have done it, just to make her go apeshit when you aren't even there lol
Purposefully trying to piss her off even more is dumb imo. Just live your life normally without stepping on eggshells, and don't feel bad if she throws a fit. But going out of your way to try and piss her off is just ridiculous. I 100% suggest recording her outbursts on your phone, for evidence.
I overslept today and I'm gutted. I had a bunch of adult shit I had to do today but I woke up at 5pm. Yikes. An entire week of 9am starts and not getting enough sleep, I crashed super hard. Worst part is I'm staying up all night to fix my shit, and I'm bored as hell.

National emergency in Wales guys, it moved my grandfathers chair that he wasn't in at the time very slightly. :scream:
oh god please don't say tectonic plates / fault lines are moving underneath us
i was enjoying the fact that virtually nothing happens in the UK natural disaster wise apart from a few gusts of winds here and there
can confirm felt fuck all in edinburgh
oh god please don't say tectonic plates / fault lines are moving underneath us
Surprisingly enough, Wales is the most earthquake prone country in the UK and has had numerous earthquakes over the years, we just don't get major earthquakes just REAAAAAAALLY tiny almost unnoticeable ones and they are extremely rare, it has something to do with how our ground is, I can't remember the exact explanation, but it's very earthquake resistant.
Same thing with tornadoes that appear in areas of the UK sometimes but they are really fucking tiny and basically don't do anything, it's like we get all the pussy natural disasters... Not that I'm complaining, I much prefer it that way.

Don't worry, that's pretty much what this "earthquake" was. :v:
Cheeky bit of banter from Sussex Police

I actually have a few videos from when she's decided to play music so loud that everything in my flat is shaking.
When the complaints came in from the council and we were being threatened with fines, court, having our belongings seized etc it really freaked us out and even the slightest noise made us panic. But now I've been told that environmental health won't do much unless your banging out loud music on subwoofer speakers until 6am, I don't really give a fuck. Like sorry that we walk around our flat, I'll take to flying in future.
Another weird slightly psycho thing, was when she received the diaries to fill out when we made noise, she took a week off work and wrote down our every movement. :v:
And yeah, the feelings to deliberately piss her off are there considering the hell she put us through last year, but I'm just hoping that I'll find somewhere new and better and the landlord will get some genuinely loud people in after us. Lol
it would be so satisfying if they pursued these fines / court action processes, and you just had a library of recorded videos of them banging your floor, screaming, and going nuts, whilst you're just normally opening a drawer. it would make anything they say after that get thrown out.
fuck me, I'm getting old. what makes my day good: calling Amazon up and asking for a replacement rubber seal on a Thermos I bought back in 2016, but getting told it's covered under warranty and they're sending me out a brand new one. I shouldn't feel as excited as I do, what the fuck
I'm gonna be in London on Friday to do a portrait in the day, Edinburgh on Sunday to catch up with a friend, and Monday in London right before I fly off back home.
Let me know if any of you want a picture, CV, portrait, couple, family portrait, dog portrait
or just a coffee with me
How do you guys feel about the energy drink ban coming into place in March
Just had a rockstar energy drink and they are full of sweeteners
At the moment monster and redbulls are fine
i'm totally okay with it. i remember doing my A-levels and a bunch of my friends were addicted to that shit. they literally couldn't function without it and would go to morrison's and drink 3 or 4 throughout the day.
it's not even the caffeine content that's bad, IIRC they've got the equivalent of one or two cups of coffee. it's the ridiculous sugar on top of it.

I see what you mean,
I was like this a few years back, but I have cut down to about 4 a week.
Just don't like the fact that I can't enjoy them now, they are banning them for the children. But if only adults can purchase them. Then they shouldn't change the recipe
Never drunk any myself so doesn't effect me.
I understand people's frustration tho.
wait, they're changing the recipe? I thought it was only banned for sale to under 16's.
doesn't really affect me tbf cause they've always made me feel like crap. soda in general isn't really my thing. energy drinks are worse cause you get a caffeine and sugar crash at the same time.
I googled it and I'm seeing certain retailers banning sales to under 16's? that what you guys are talking about?
strange cause I was always under the influence that that was already the case

Monster makes my balls feel funny
Rockstar guava is my go to wake up drink in the summer its banging, dont drink it as much anymore now though
I drink energy drinks quite regularly but with the recent sugar tax they taste like shit. I had a Rockstar as normal, then opened one the day after to find it tasted completely different to the one I had yesterday. So now I've moved onto Black which are the little cans, 4 for a pound in Tesco.
This is the first I've heard of any energy drink ban so if anyone has more info plz tell me.
I just don't see how any of this is "benefiting the children" considering there is a huge amount of money coming their way from this. It's like the whole "opt in" porn block. Parents could put protection on their kids computers before this was ever bought in, but if kids really want to see porn they will find a way.
A few of the people I work with drink a six pack of the shitty One Stop own brand energy drinks every day and I'm legit concerned they're going to have heart attacks by the time they're 25

First irn bru, then energy drinks. If I was 8 years younger I'd be fuckin infuriated.
so is sugar tax the reason irn bru tastes significantly more like piss now than it did back in the good old days?

Don't really care because I'm 21, not < 16.

yeah you're a big adult for not drinking energy drinks. Beer and coffee only for big adults.
yeah you're a big adult for not drinking energy drinks. Beer and coffee only for big adults.
What I meant is that they're banning it for under 16 year olds, no?

He's talking about how they changed the taste of them and now they taste like shit because of the ban yeah. Sorry it sounded like you were saying they're only meant for kids or something.
Has anyone tried the mango flavoured Cola? It's diet but it's pretty good
What the fuck, first cigarettes, then Energy Drinks?
How the fuck am I supposed to function now, I'll go bankrupt.
What's next, sushi tax?

Rockstar Guava is also one of my favourites
They had about roughly 50 to 60 grams of sugar. And they were about 250-300 calories but I didn't care because they're so damn good.
But look at this shit.
https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/272582527
The new cans have 24 grams of sugar and are about 130 calories.
This is not a good thing. They taste like shit, they are bland and have a sweetener aftertaste

Product description
"Lightly Carbonated Fruit Juice & Flavour Energy Drink with Sugar and Sweeteners, with Added Taurine"
Fucking sweeteners.
Im 19, ban it for 16 year olds but don't ruin it.
Fuck this
sweeteners taste like dog shit, but real talk for a second, i rarely drink fizzy drinks cause the amount of sugar in it just blows my mind. after seeing it visualized in teaspoons of sugar, it's just insane. so i barely ever drink the stuff cause it just makes me feel like shit thinking about how i'm having 60% of my RDA of sugar
but companies changing their recipes to avoid sugar tax is pretty dumb, especially when it totally changes the flavour.
Drinking sweetener filled drinks coats my mouth in this horrible chemically sticky weirdness and they taste like regular fizzy drinks that went flat 8 months ago
Anyone that says they can’t tell the diff baffles me
