weirdly the almost same thing happened to us. They came in, took a few measurements, and haven't heard anything - even a "can't do it lol" - from them in almost 9 months. Arseholes.
Scottish Power? To be fair the guy did some preparations and adjustments to make the cabinet easier for the next guy and probably safer but he couldn't install it and just said he'd pass on my details to Scottish Power. Never heard anything back. Well, fuck them, I'm with OVO now.
I still don't really get how electricity is sold. I like to imagine that every supplier has their own power station. When you switch supplier they have a massive patch panel, and someone in the electrical exchange has to find your power cord unplug it from your current suppliers panel and plug it into the new suppliers panel.
aren't most powerstations government run? the suppliers just sell electricity cause they're the ones that handle infrastructure and getting it to customers.

Basically there's a thing called the National Grid which supplies electricity and gas to most properties (probably every) in the UK. Your supplier pays for the gas/electricity wholesale and then pays National Grid to transport it on their network to you.
Obviously I don't actually believe there's an electrical exchange and patch panels, but it's the sort of thing I like to imagine on a Friday afternoon It's just the buying/selling bit that I can't get my head around. It comes from the same place, with the same infrastructure for transmission.
something something capitalist pigs holding you hostage something something karl marx
if you like Japanese try Sakura (near Grosvenor Place), the curry is amazing (and the portion sizes are excellent as well) - they were doing 20% off at lunchtimes a couple months back, but they may have stopped that (I say this having never tried Zen, will use this post as an excuse to try it) though if you can travel a bit, Nippon Inn in Bournemouth (Charminster) is entirely next level, a tiny bit more expensive for the portion size but well worth it; I usually have the curry, but I took some friends who stayed out in JP for a couple of years and they said the sushi was "the closest thing they'd had to being out there" since returning. Gets quite busy though (especially in the evening and at weekends), so be prepared to book a table, or possibly come back in 20 minutes or so
up dem cherries

Feels very traditional and authentic (at least to my English palette), portion sizes are good, good value to money too considering the quality. Ordering from the Teishoku section of the menu will let you try a good selection of stuff. Zen I felt was better if you wanted to stuff your face with fried stuff (can't beat an all you can eat buffet), Sakura was better quality- especially the sashimi/sushi. There's also a Sakura in Portsmouth, which is smaller but still great
Has anyone here had jellied eels what does it taste like Any recommendations
Has anyone here had jellied eels what does it taste like Any recommendations
URGhhurghgurhghurghghurhguhrg. Does that help?
Has anyone here had jellied eels what does it taste like Any recommendations
I like it but I also didn't mind the cat food I ate one time so I'm definitely not the refined pallette you're looking for. The main issue for most people is the consistency, because it is literally jellied like dog food. Other than that it's just very fishy and lean.
Lads is it weird to refuse to give business to certain companies whenever possible?
My block of flats' management company randomly put up scaffolding around the building today. There are now drunken chavs chimping out and swinging on the bars.
Best part of a night out is waiting for a taxi with a kebab watching chavs fight outside clubs.
Best part of a night out is waiting for a taxi with a kebab watching chavs fight outside clubs.
So true! I have seen my fair share of chavs outside clubs, indeed.
So true! I have seen my fair share of chavs outside clubs, indeed.
24 hour McDonalds are the best for this.
24 hour McDonalds are the best for this.
Yeah, although I have been known to frequent McDonald's in the past whilst high on weed with my mate. We once bought weed from a proper chav there. :P
They replaced the taps and now every time I go to get water the tap turns the wrong way for off and on and it sprays water like a pressure hose. Woke up the entire house last night because I kept forgetting which way the bastard needs to go.

My friend and me laughed like crazy the first time we saw it, although those transitions were really great too.
Honestly Chris Morris is probably my favourite satirist ever [editline]24th February 2018[/editline] It's kind of scary how relevant Four Lions, Brass Eye and The Day Today still are today
I didn't forget The Day Today, but honestly, Brass Eye is my favourite. I've never laughed so hard at the bit in Four Lions when each guy exploded unexpectedly though. That was fucking golden.
Lads is it weird to refuse to give business to certain companies whenever possible?
G1 group is top of my boycott list
the words "It was lucky they didn't get killed to bits" catches me everytime, I fucking love Brass Eye, Chris Morris is underrated as fuck
G1 group is top of my boycott list
Takes away quite a bit of Glasgow boycotting them. Heard they did some shit stuff down Ashton Lane though.
they're an atrocious employer and i do my best to avoid them
G1 group is top of my boycott list
Currys PC World is top of my list, Game is second.
just had my first 99p with a flake in the best part of ten years, i feel like i have restored a lost limb
its a good feeling, had my first one in years last summer it was glorious [editline]24th February 2018[/editline] bet it wasn't 99p but like £1.50 though, slimey fuckers
It's not called a 99 because of its cost smh
Going for a night out for the first time in over 6 months. Wish me luck lids. Only thing stopping a hangover is chicken nuggies.
