Hello, back home after 15 hour flight
You guys mind explaining how come you guys close trains and roads when its like x100 worst in Siberia or Canada
Don't they deal with large amounts of snow for most of the year? Or at least part parts of those places do. We only see it every few years at most. :v:

also as you're all internet neckbeards i imagine you haven't but if you can be arsed, might i suggest you grab a shovel and find your nearest grit bit and do the pavement around you and your neighbours houses - it might help an old person make it out to the shops or something
They took our yellow grit bin away because junkies kept tossing their needles in it. Aberdeen at it's finest.

Fucking hell -5°C here
My cat keeps going making a break for the outside then reappearing on the windowsill 5 minutes later to be let back in
I'm keeping you inside so you don't end up like that frozen cat in that vine you dumbass
You mad bastard, I would not consider riding with air temps so far below zero overnight, the snow is the least of your worries.
Yeah it was -2c when I left for work yesterday. Surprisingly didn't seem that slippery. Before Christmas the day after it snowed I got a lift to and from work and then I was back out on the road again on bike. For the next few days I had rear wheal spin here and there and was almost used to it. Haven't reached that point yet. Thursday is meant to be snowy most of the day here where I am and the coldest being as low as -5 -4 when I leave for work so I may very well just get a lift for then. Friday is meant to snow even more so depending on how bad it is on Thursday combined with the predictions for Friday work may very well close and I wont even have to think about it.
I don't see any real snow predictions for Wednesday here so as long as it holds off until I get my delivery on Thursday (new motherboard and CPU i'm fucked without a working gaming rig right now) I will be happy. Last thing I want is to be snowed in without a working gaming rig and dpd unable to deliver that would suck balls.
So glad I have a car as well so I can just say ehh not today bike
Arrived at work today only to find out a minute later senior leadership decided to close the school as a 1/5th of teaching staff were unable to make it in.
Had to go to work, trains had severe delays or cancelled, motorbike was the only option, fuck me it was sketchy

I was offered a lift today so I took it. So far today only had light but consistent snow.
So apparently all of South-East/Central Scotland just got hit with a red weather warning and I'm in Dundee.
Pray4me lads
I'm at the airport. Made a stupid mistake earlier. I topped up the coolant in my car cos I thought it looked low before setting off.
After a few miles i noticed the air conditioning was blowing really cold, then I noticed the temp guage creeping up. Then it hit. Fuck. The coolant cap.
Luckily I wasn't far from services, pulled in, lifted the bonnet. Little fucker was sitting on the battery laughing at me.
Ended up topping it up again but with some Bobby top up coolant, so that's probably going need a flush out
I don't think I've ever seen such proper snow before.
I picked a real good time to be off work. Suckers.
M62 wasn't too bad apart from the disorientation

this was pretty dumb. I've got no idea how far your work is, but would it not have been better to just order a taxi as a one off? there's so much slush on the roads, I have no idea how you drove to work without faceplanting.

i did a sick tokyo drift going 2mph when i was pulling into my cul de sac. it was so fun, i reversed and did it again. ABS was on the entire time and i've never felt more alive (just kidding, it was pretty mediocre but it made me feel like a big kid). didn't wanna turn ABS off cause I knew I'd fuck shit up and I like my neighbours too much to play bumper cars with their parked cars.
Meant to reach temperatures as low as -9 tonight up near Manchester. For comparison, Norway will only be slightly colder at the same time. I know it's to do with wind as well, but still, it's not everyday that the UK is closer to being -10 degrees than it is to being -5 (weirdly, north Scotland isn't expected to be as cold as Manchester).
Red warning and off work today and tomorrow

Honestly if the main road was slushy as fuck, or worse, I would not have done it, but since it was like, 400 meters worth I decided to give it a shot.
I looked into uber/taxi but could not afford to spend the £100+ it would have cost me to get to work.
Told work that I'm working from home until the snow goes now as I'm not doing that every day.
that's fair, £100 on a taxi is ridiculous. how far is work?

Also in Scumdee, looking forward to what the weather can throw at my tank of a Volvo, I'll be driving about working until about 10 tonight.

Snows back on :dogcited:

15 miles or something, through central London in Rush hour. Not sure what a taxi would have cost, but uber was surging hard
Fuck sake had some beers in a carrier went to the chippy slipped over walking in and burst them.
At least the chips were free.
Managed to avoid falling over on ice and snow all day and then fucked my back bending over to get milk in Asda fucking classic.
They better not shut my Maplin down I need the dosh. Pay is minimum but it's a decent place to work in mostly because we all get along really well in store
I don't get it, everyone at work is banging on about how cold it's been today. It was only -1 and we had a tiny amount of snow. I think people are making a bit much of it.
I am wondering if I've only just acclimatised to the cold now or something as it really doesn't seem that cold to me, meanwhile people are walking about in hats & gloves.
Fuck I was so wrong about it all :suicide:

Uuuh, Norway is being quite alright atm, it’s about to get a little chillier

Just woke up to like 5 inches of snow in Huddersfield. This snowfall feels so out of place here in the UK.
School/work is closed again today. Glad I decided to wait a bit for a confirmation email instead of leaving early like last time.
Sadly work is still a go for me we just aren't getting snow right now just cold temps. I already have a lift organised so no motorbike today. Could snow during the day maybe we will close tomorrow maybe not.

Damn, ignore me. Still too cold, but the wind is the worst bit for me.
