Goodbye, Misfits. I'm going to accept this episode as a final ending. Fuck.
[sp]I dont want to watch who shagged Finn's sister, or how he's doing with his dad.[/sp]
[sp]While I admit the next episode doesn't look very interesting from the preview, that's a pretty lame reason to not watch the show anymore. If you don't like the fact that Curtis is gone, I can understand that but they've done a pretty good job at casting new characters so far, and I don't really think the quality of the recent episodes has diminished much at all. [/sp]
I just don't think the next episode looks very appealing. I might skip it and watch it on line in 2 weeks, right before the next episode.
I mean you're kind of jumping the gun saying you won't watch a 40 minute episode of a TV show you like because of a 20 second preview of it.. you could always just watch it for a few minutes when it airs at least and turn it off if you're sure that the show is now complete shit.
I mean, not that I give a fuck when anyone watches it. You guys are just being weird and laying down a lot of lines and boundaries all of a sudden because of an uninteresting preview. If the episodes this season are any indication, I'm sure it'll be fine. It's not like along with Curtis went the writers.
Finn's dad is actually the psycho probation worker
calling it now
I think the biggest tragedy last episode was that Curtis x probation worker got so close but will never be.
I'm reading a lot of people on forums going "It's too different".
Are we watching the same show? The third season didn't really have any concurrent underlying story other than the shit with Seth, this season does... just like the first two seasons which most people hold in high regard.

That scene literally made me laugh out loud and I don't have that often.

The problem is; the underlying story for this season is rather weak by comparison.
Season 1's worked because Nathan was a main character. Hell, for many he was the reason why they started and kept watching the show, and he had a huge amount of screentime. That made the mystery of what his power is so exciting.
With Season 2, it was the risk of somebody knowing what they've done, yet not know who this person is or what they'll do exactly. Again, it made it exciting.
With this current season, the only real underlying story/mystery is with Alex and what his power is. And so far, four episodes in (which is half of the season by the way), he's had a minute amount of screen time and a couple lines of dialogue. It's hard to care/get interested in a character when you've seen so little about him.
And with the Lola storyline, I'm sure I'm not the only one who [sp]thought she wasn't actually a trainee probation officer.[/sp] Aside from the fact I'm pretty sure that isn't a thing, she wasn't in any real scenes with anyone other than Curtis. She never showed any authority to anybody else, nor had any conversations with any of the other cast. I don't think she even shared a scene with the actual probation worker. It seemed rather obvious that something was up.
The same could be said with Season 3, with Seth and his girlfriend (who had only a handful of mentions prior to her episode).
So, in that regards, that's how it's too different.
With all of that being said, I really like this season so far. It's a hell of a lot closer to seasons 1 and 2 than 3 was, and it also has it's own, unique, feel. The new cast members (sans Alex since they still haven't really shown us anything about him) are likable, and I think Rudy fits much better with this dynamic than he did last season with the previous cast.
It will probably never happen but they should bring back Nathan to [sp]replace Curtis.[/sp] That would just be the best thing ever.

[editline]20th November 2012[/editline]
also i think with curtis gone this is basically a new show (a really good one) with a new tone, season 3 sorta tried to keep the previous seasons tones but that didn't work out too well (really didn't like 3) but this season has been fantastic so far
I loved the ending of the new episode well cried a little but when it got to that scene I heard slight music and I was like "Devotchka-How it ends" BAWWW MY EYES.
Nathan's was the worst character anyway and doesn't have the ability in my opinion.
[editline]awd[/editline]
That's the actor's name, I meant Curtis. Didn't even notice I typed Nathan, corrected it.
There hasn't been enough power use this series that's my only concern.
There hasn't been enough power use this series that's my only concern.
I think both Finn and Jess have used their new powers twice this series.
Not to mention Rudy is technically always using his power when there's more than one of him.
Has finn even used his power?
Has finn even used his power?
Twice, I think. On a pot and on a cup.
I hope his power gets stronger and he becomes able to do awesome shit
I hope his power gets stronger and he becomes able to do awesome shit
In the first series, Simon couldn't control his power at first. It just happened when he felt ignored. Plus it looked painful as shit. Such as when he was trying to show the group Gary's cap. Or when he asked them to go out for a drink with him. Or when he failed to turn invisible while they all watched him. He fell to the ground, writing in pain, and became invisible.
However, over time, he learned to do it on demand. I think this is first seen when he escapes the Virtue group, leaving Nathan behind?
Either way, it ties in with him slowly becoming more confident in himself, and standing up to others. Either him controlling his power helped him become more confident, or becoming more confident helped him control his power.
I think this is similar to what will happen with Finn, only it won't be gradual. Something major will happen in this series that will cause Finn to blow up. He's lately broken up with his first, long term girlfriend, been sucked off by his step-mum, learned his dad isn't his dad, moved out of his flat into the community centre, and he's failing to get somewhere with Jess.
He's going to blow up at some point, and his power will blow up with him.
He's going to have to, considering he's probably the only person (Other than Rudy, who's power could make him able to surprise a foe) who has a chance against any sort of threat that's coming, unless Alex's ability is super useful.

Apparently, Alex's power is digusting.

1:19 in is where they talk about it. Oh, and no spoilers on the power. They never say what it is, but they just talk vaguely about it.
probably the ability to magically cumfart or something
probably the ability to magically cumfart or something
Judging from his 'stache in the vid it probably has to do with kids.
Giant Killer Rabbit? That's news to me.
If this TV show has a plot motto, it's got to be:
"Ah, the storm. It's always the fuckin' storm..."
Are they ever going to explain The Storm? A part of me hopes not.
Some girl in my class spoiled the ending of the latest episode for me, I got so mad.
Can anyone explain to me why in Season 2, episode 4, the probation worker basically gives the misfits his car, full well knowing they're going to rob a bank?
Man, I'm really looking forward to episode 6, but I'm wondering if the rabbit is actually just a big rabbit or an in-universe guy in a rabbit suit? (Like some kind of tribute to Donnie Darko?)

Because he doesn't give a shit about what they do.

Classic mistake sci-fi movies and shows do is explaining the mysterious phenomenon making it... not mysterious anymore. Yeah, I really hope they don't explain it too. It would fuck up the show a lot.
