He said to Alisha when Ollie died that if he'd saved Ollie, someone else would have had to have died in his place. I also noticed a huge continuity error. In Superhoodie's past, he had that news report video of them all revealing their powers. If, in his past, this happened, why is Alisha still alive to be interviewed, because obviously at the Misfits' present, they still haven't been discovered? Blah.
I don't think the time travel storyline is a paradox. I think the current simon lives on, somehow being on TV in the past without messing up superhoodie?
No, I agree, it's not a paradox. But Simon had a video on the laptop of a future news article, where they are revealing that they have powers. And Alisha was being interviewed. This article was in her future. However, at the point where she should have died, this article hadn't taken place. Surely, for it to have existed in Superhoodie's past where Alisha died at that point in time, that news article shouldn't have existed. So perhaps he's lying, and she doesn't die then? Or perhaps they just fucked up the plot.

Does this mean that in the future simon will have to go back in time and then die?
Most plausible theory is that Superbarry is doing this on the basis of Trial/Error. He seems to know everything that happens even after he makes alterations, which would be impossible if this is his first time.
If it is an honest error, they'll probably work it in and tie it up in series 3.
I think he had to die, it's like the new simon takes over. and Alesha could have been interviewed before her death?
Wait, surely if Curtis hadn't kicked the video game guy in the face, Nathan would have been killed and not BatBarry? Batbarry could have faked his death, and watched Alisha from afar.
I don't see why nathan didn't say he was the cop in the first place, he could have saved a lot of time and effort. He'd have come back.
I don't see why nathan didn't say he was the cop in the first place, he could have saved a lot of time and effort. He'd have come back.
Because although he is immortal, getting cut up with a chainsaw/dying again would still hurt more than you could imagine.
Because although he is immortal, getting cut up with a chainsaw/dying again would still hurt more than you could imagine.
He, even being Nathan, would realize that it'd be better than getting the other misfits killed.
He, even being Nathan, would realize that it'd be better than getting the other misfits killed.
He actually did say "I'm the undercover cop" before Curtis kicks the guy in the face. Batbarry dying is all Curtis' fault, really.
misfits is amazing! i watched season 1 in one go!
Thats what happens if you stay inside playing video games and masturbating all day. love that line
He actually did say "I'm the undercover cop" before Curtis kicks the guy in the face. Batbarry dying is all Curtis' fault, really.
He could have done it sooner. [editline]4th December 2010[/editline]
misfits is amazing! i watched season 1 in one go!
I did exactly the same. It took about 4 and a half hours to finish it.
He could have done it sooner.
He could, but letting some guy dismember your body with a chainsaw does take some balls
He could, but letting some guy dismember your body with a chainsaw does take some balls
The main idea is you know you're going to respawn where as none of your friends can, I'm sure you'd balls out for them in that situation.
The main idea is you know you're going to respawn where as none of your friends can, I'm sure you'd balls out for them in that situation.
do we even know if Nathans body parts come back or not?
or perhaps Superbarry's done it multiple times, all with different outcomes?
I think this episode may have hinted at this. The one thing that stuck in my head all episode which I thought you guys would have jumped on: [sp]The guy in the hospital ward that heart transplant girl pointed out was a burns victim. It was obvious that they had done a pretty intensive make-up job on the actor which seems to me a real waste of time if it was only to have him flash up on screen for a few seconds. I'm gonna guess that this burned up man has something to do with, or actually is, Future Barry who we saw being burned to a crisp at the end of the episode.[/sp] Now let's pick holes in my theory. [editline]4th December 2010[/editline] Also if that was the case [sp]there could be several Future Barrys' running around, Burned Barry being one of them.[/sp] Or not I dunno :buddy:
Highly unlikely, but that would be interesting.
do we even know if Nathans body parts come back or not?
He got stabbed through the stomach with a pipe, and I don't remember anybody else stitching him up, so he must have some kind of regrowth.
He got stabbed through the stomach with a pipe, and I don't remember anybody else stitching him up, so he must have some kind of regrowth.
Yes but a whole limb? We don't know how long it takes to grow back. For both deaths he's only been stabbed through the stomach.
I have to say, a burned Barry running around in episodes would be kind of funny. Also with the whole heart thing, possibly at some point if people other than teleporty woman (can't remember her name) find out that you can gain powers just by a heart transplant. Then you'd get people running around trying to steal all the powerful supers hearts and they have to go all super on them. While these powers are interesting, because they're based on fears and feelings of people, I hope there is going to be more people with powers that can really do stuff, other than act like a dog and lick their own balls.
Yes but a whole limb? We don't know how long it takes to grow back. For both deaths he's only been stabbed through the stomach.
I would assume GTA-guy would cut him in half or something stupid. I severely doubt he can regrown an entire half of his body. Plus it would kind of give away he has powers if someone saw him. And he doesn't seem like the kind of person to lay low.
Not sure if anyone else has asked this yet, but am I missing something? How did Simon travel though time? ...and if Curtis somehow travelled him, why didn't Curtis come back too?
How he came back is not known yet, and Curtis has (presumably) nothing to do with it.
I don't think they put that much makeup in to the burns victim. It was just a sick-looking old man with some bacon strips glued to his face.
I would assume GTA-guy would cut him in half or something stupid. I severely doubt he can regrown an entire half of his body. He's immortal, but we can't prove that he can regenerate. If he lost a limb, he might not have been able to recover it. If he's sawn in half, then no way in hell would that fix itself. So if he got sawn in half, he'd die. Then he'd come back. Then he'd die again due to blood loss, and then he'd come back, die again and thus the cycle repeats. Goes to show that immortality has it's downsides (aside from the more mundane ones like shitting yourself in a coffin). EDIT: Come to think of it, how was Nathan still conscious at the start of Series 2? Surely he must have ran out of oxygen eventually, and he was down there for quite a while.
I don't think he'd repeatedly die of blood loss, or he would be dying all the time from internal injuries. How ever I do agree that it'd be bad for him if he lost his limbs. Because if someone cut off half his body, he'd come back and only have half a body. If someone cut his head off, I would have presumed before last episode that his head would stay alive, how ever now I can safely guess that his body would stay alive. Basically anything attached to his heart would be fine. Possibly if someone held all his parts together and cut them, they might rejoin and he'd be fine.

Cut out his heart, have it for yourself, wait for him to regenerate, hey presto another heart. If people discovered this, they could just hole him up somewhere and continually cut out his heart until everyone was immortal. Pretty grim.
