I wasn't really bothered about the positive nature of it, seemed kind of cool as if he needed us as a people to be together.
My complaint is the actual sound, he made Floyd very "dry" sounding as compared to the "big", ambient Floyd.
I know why he chose to make the record sound like that, but sheesh... If he had that mindset he should've made it a solo record.
That's because of the lack of Rick's involvement in the album. I'm sure it would've had that sound if he'd have more input.
Maybe.. But dang, He should have thought of the effect it would have on their previous work.
It seems completely out of place with their natural sound.
Even more so with The Final Cut.
Well, Final Cut is a weird one. I don't even know what to think of that as.
Fuck the Wall, I wanna listen to Echoes (the song).
The build-up in that song is just so [i]intense[/i], every bar I'm like "This is where the guitar solo starts!", but no, it continues!
Should've been there for the Live in Pompeii broadcast. Was epic.

Wright's contribution to the wall should be like 0% as should his contribution to Animals. He didn't contribute to either of them. I would also argue that during DSOTM and WYWH Waters contributions need to go up a kit as he took over lyrical duties and Gilmour and Wright's contributions also need to go up but only a little bit as they contributed greatly to the music

Wright himself has said that he did not contribute in the slightest to Animals and hardly contributed to theWall at all, He performed but that doesn't mean he contributed per se.

For Mother, it works though. The lyrics contrast with the happy-ish solo and music because of the facade that Pink's mother was keeping him safe and happy.

I personally think the first side of The Wall (first 6 tracks) work perfectly one after the other. After that it meanders imo. Although there are some good songs here and there, it doesn't flow as well as the first side did.
The last side kind of did, but it wasn't as strong.
I think Momentary Lapse is slightly underrated.
I love Atom Heart Mother Suite, it's really unlike the rest of their work.
I cannot pick a favourite album. It would be between DSOTM, WYWH, and Meddle.
My friend is going to The Wall tour here aswell and he's been obessing over The Wall. It's really hard telling him that The Wall isn't even Pink Floyd's album, but I'd like to believe it is tbh otherwise it might ruin Roger's concert. Also the fact that I'm more of a Gilmour guy doesn't help, but oh well.

Meddle is their most underrated works. It was just as good as Dark Side. Oh yea, and Obscured By Clouds really should be called "Obscured by Moon", because that was unironically eclipsed the fuck out of by Dark Side. It's surely their least talked about album

Yeah but it's in between Meddle and Dark Side. So it's pretty underwhelming compared to those.
