About that the common generalization that The Wall is not a very Floyd sounding album is only really cause of disc 2. Disc 1 sounds very Floyd in my opinion, even Goodbye Blue Sky had the synthesizer in the background which was Floyd sounding. As for disc two it's just like The final cut. Just found out that my dad is a huge Pink Floyd fan :v:
He told me a story about when he and his buddy went to The Wall Concert in Earls Court in 1980ish.
Quite weird how I have been a huge PF fan for the past 3-4 years and he has been a PF fan for well over 30 years and we never knew we had that in-common, I should speak to him more often.
My uncle (whom I admire as a father figure, but that's a whole other story) has got a massive vinyl collection.
Amongst those I found were:
-Atom Heart Mother
-DSOTM
-The Wall
-Wish You Were Here
-Saucerful of Secrets
It's probably around a 100 vinyls...

Ehh, my parents had a few CDs, listened to occasionally. Dad called Great Gig in the Sky "female wailing".
My dad thinks that Piper at the Gates of Dawn is the shittiest PF album and all of their other stuff up until DSOTM is mediocre. p. much he likes Dark Side, Wish You, and Wall.
My dad thinks the Floyd is meh. Which is probably partly why he wouldn't rent The Wall film for me as a little kid.
I would say he likes WYWH, mainly because I used to play WYWH on the guitar all the time for him.
My dad only remember Money's bass riff when I mention Pink Floyd to him :v:

He found The Wall to be the worst album he'd ever heard, calling it "pretentious."
Needless to say, we didn't agree on [I]everything[/I], but he was a fine dude.
